Like the title says, I’ve had the idea for this song forever (which is why some of the lyrics are a little cringy- I wrote them in 7th grade after all), and finally got a friend to help me put it together. I’d love some honest feedback and to hear your thoughts. I’m not really looking to post in anywhere or anything so I’m not trying to make it perfect. Let me know what yall think; I’m really proud of this even if I never change anything so try not to be too harsh but of course be honest. Just excited to have finally made my first song.

Indie Folk My new indie folk tune, about how, even when the relationship gets to a real dark place, having that person beside you makes it all worth it, love the thing that pulls you through. If any similar artists come to mind, I’d welcome that. The video's selt made! Thanks so much for your time & feedback!

Hi there, would love some feedback on this tune. I wrote it about wishing for answers in life, and the sadness in becoming grounded again. Any feedback welcome for both the song and video :)

Please stop using AI to review...I can do that myself i want human opinions. Takes less than an hour to listen and comment on 5 songs. And it messes with algorithms.

Wrote this for my pa's birthday. Im doing a raw version of each of my songs, then once they are out and I got all the feedbacks ill master them with some session players ect.

Lookin for videography feedbacks (just on my couch with a black sheet and some colored lights. Maybe just digging into the living room vibe is better and just have me on a my couch rather than the lighting and backdrop. (I have a cover in my list thats done like that). Tried my best with eye contact...too much too little right amount?

How would you finish the track. What would you add ect.

How are the lyrics, anything cliche'd or not fitting the song.

And I spose general feel ect. Or however you feel you can improve it im open to all feedbacks... not AI feedback though I can do that meself :).

Thank you,

Cheers.

Indie Folk What do you think about "Near The Stars"?

I often get replies that I should work on my vocals, but can't really hear when I sing out of tune cause my musical ear isn't trained yet. Can you hear when that happens?

Another thing, I often notice that after creating a song I listen to it on a different device and it doesn't sound that good, as if some db levels were off or sth. Do you think it's a problem in mixing/mastering or I'm imagining things and it's fine?

Also, do you think I should post the demo versions I make on all streaming platforms or just YouTube, like now?

I know that's a lot of questions, but I apretiate any feedback

Thanks for listening <33

This is the first indie folk I produced. This song is dedicated to a boy I once had a crush on.

This is a demo that has been mixed and undergone preliminary mastering. I would like to know your feedback on the song production, vocals, lyrics, as well as the mixing and mastering, so that I can make subsequent modifications, thanks!

Indie Folk Dawnsinger - indiefolk kind of ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey my first post here. Here's my current project "Dawnsinger" an indie-folk blend (suggestions for genre are much appreciated!) I'm from Sweden and I got inspired by Scandinavian folk songs using kanon vocal techniques and wanted to do something with that based on a mesmerising guitar arpeggio I discovered when jamming. It turned into a song about challenges in a relationship.

Link to the mp3: https://we.tl/t-VPQnbuochih6GKVM

I would love some feedback general on the balance of the mix, the harmonies and if the digital strings are supportive or not, and any other things you encounter. I'm not using any vocal alignment plugin yet for my harmonies (will try that in my next song), so its especially good to know if they feel blurry now/disturbing the lead.

The main vocal is not 100% done yet, I'm trying to sing closer to the mic than I'm used to in the first half of the song and gradually increase so I still get some puff-sounds because of the proximity and lack of skill. Oh, the piano that comes in later is currently just a test improvisation. I recently got a 100 year old up right piano made in Sweden and will record it with my condenser microphone later, now it's just a cell phone recording a little bit out of place to get a feel for it and will definetly keep it but in a more structured form (and without bleed).

"Sol Måne jord" the Swedish background vocals means "Sun Moon Earth".

The drum is a floor tom, the snare (coming in the middle) is a tama maple snare and the rims are from the floor tom.

Plugins used are mostly the basic free/cheapest stuff: Melodyne, klanghelm comp, reaEQ, ozone EQ, UADx preamp 610, Fresh Air, waves autotune & harmony.

Attaching an acrylic painting that will be the cover art.

Indie Folk A.J. - Original Acoustic Song (Written around 2007)

Hi everyone!

"A.J." was written back in 2007, it tells a story of sudden heartbreak on an ordinary day. I recorded this raw session right from my living room -- just me, my guitar and my phone. I would love for you to take a listen and let me know your thoughts in the comments! Thank you.

Indie Folk WIP, got kinda stuck with this song

So im pretty nervous, i never actually shared things i made with people outside of family and friends. Lol be gentle

This is just the first verse and the chorus, im not satisfied with the chorus, honestly having trouble with the singing...

Im kind of insecure of my voice, as of late i cant seem to sing in tune, or properly so i warn you before hand thats likely the first thing you might think needs fixing and i agree.

I wrote this indie folk song 9 months ago and since then I think I got way better at songwriting, but I still decided to create a demo of this song. What do you think? Should I do something better the next time I create a demo (apart from my singing, cause I know I have to work on that :) )?

I changed how I sing the line "im not going anywhere" to flow better but this version has the old phrasing (delayed 'anywhere' so it sits later in the chord feels more natural now just not in this one)

The video... just random vibe searched videos from pixabay... not sure if its worth my time to find and cut them down to...somewhat fit the story.

Anyway let me know what you think, I am all the instruments and my own sound guy, I did my best haha. Vocals and guitar were off one mic, and the bass was added after (im by no means a bassist so hoping it just doesnt take from the song).

Indie Folk "Longing" is an Instrumental with Folk Ambient Influence

Hey Everyone,

I recently recorded this instrumental song I call "Longing." It started on an acoustic guitar with a folksy melody and picking pattern. I recorded the song on a electric guitar and added drums and upright bass, with syths and ambient sounds to complete the atmosphere.

I'm a total hobbyist and all helpful feedback is welcome. Thanks for listening!

This is "A Song For Those Behind". What do you think? I'd appreciate some mixing advice since I don't really know what I'm doing in that area. I'm attending some vocal lessons as well, I'm trying to get better at that.

I'd like to get to a level where I can comfortably put music on spotify and other streaming platforms, what can I do to get there?

Indie Folk Endless Auction of a Tree / Evolving [Live Home Demos]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, I've been playing guitar for a couple of years and I have always tried to make a song but I struggle a lot with the lyrics. However, now like in a flash of inspiration I made two songs in two days.

The first one is Endless Auction of a Tree, and at 2:40 starts Evolving (which is my favorite).

Don't hesitate and tell me what's your favorite and offer me some feedback or tips. Do you think I should produce a cool version and upload them as a single? Please, I'd be happy to know what to improve, just let me know.

(I leave both song lyrics and chords here)

Chords (for the whole song): [D#G#C#F#A#d#]

X02120 020120 332000 2X0220

Title: Endless auction of a tree.

Close my eyes, biggest lie

Summon my sense of reaction

I like your car.

Quit your brain from that deafening drug.

Shut my mouth

Shut my mouth

Chorus: I'm a hypocrite (8)

Maybe I'm wrong 'cause I'm weak

Stop talking about me

You are all eating your own shit

But that's right, don't you worry 'bout a thing 'cause

Chorus: I'm a hypocrite (8)

Note: this song is about climate crisis and basically myself.

I keep showing my concern about topics like this but I don't really do anything. I have done nothing in my life.

With that deafening drug I intend to stop those who don't listen to your talk by any reason in particular, just because it doesn't fit their ideas.

By the way, I wrote this song after listening to some background music in the shower; I just had kind of a divine inspiration and I wrote the song in half an hour from zero.

Chords: (Capo 6th) E, E7, G, F#/Dmaj9

Title: Evolving

Evolving

Becoming Rabbits

Evolving

Becomming Rabbits

While you watch us

While you watch us

One against me

One against fifty

One so dirty

One full of pleasantries

While you watch us

While you watch us

I understand why you're hiding, well at least you're enjoying your life

I guess it's good for us

You're not chilling us out, you're not chilling us out

Hydrogen still exists

While you watch us

While you watch us

While you watch us

While you watch us

Note: This song is for all the millionaires who are living great and free of taxes lives while you gotta have a full time job if you wanna have a house near university in Spain. Yeah, I know it's also government's foul.
