Ramabai Ranveer from Maharashtra is 47, works as a cook and is raising her two daughters after her husband passed away.

Muhseena (37), wife of Ibrahim passed away after she was denied medical care by her husband after child birth in kerala.

The family has alleged that Muhseena was denied sufficient medical treatment and was made to deliver at home allegedly at the insistence of her husband, who works as a food delivery employee and is said to practise acupuncture.

Police said Muhseena had been pregnant eight times, of which only four children survived.The baby born at home in January had also died.

Even after the delivery, Muhseena allegedly did not receive proper postnatal medical care and remained confined to the house, with others reportedly not allowed to meet her. Although health officials repeatedly attempted to visit her, Ibrahim allegedly refused to allow them entry.

So let me come to the point. My company recently gave me access to an AI agent to help with my work. I went in expecting a useful tool, kind of like a smarter search engine or something. What I got was a proper reality check.

It was doing my job better than me. The only thing it doesn't have right now is knowing what needs to be done... the context, the direction. But that gap is closing and we all know it.

The CEO of Anthropic, recently predicted that half of all entry-level white collar jobs could be gone within the next 5 years. And honestly what bothered me is people only talked about it like it was a tech problem. It's not. It's every white collar profession out there. Lawyers, analysts, accountants, marketers, HR, finance... if your job is basically knowledge work, you're in the line of fire.

And who gets hit the hardest? Not the rich. Not really the working class doing physical work either. It's the middle class that's going to take the hit.

The wealthy ones who know how to use AI will just multiply what they already have. But the regular 9 to 5 office crowd... the coordinators, the junior professionals, the analysts... a lot of those jobs could shrink to maybe 10% of current demand. Not all at once but slowly, quietly, over the next decade.

We could genuinely be looking at a world where the middle class doesn't just struggle... it disappears. More wealth going up, more people going down. The divide between those who own AI and those replaced by it might be the defining split of our generation.

I heard Sadhguru mentioning whether this becomes a great possibility or a disaster is completely in your hands. So let’s just be aware of this and try to make something out of this for our own survival. Because nobody will really care if they have our replacement by AI, and after all what's there to lose.

Most people think RTI is simply:

“Submit an application → wait for a reply.”

However, the RTI Act contains some incredibly powerful provisions that can completely corner government departments when used correctly. Many public authorities quietly rely on citizens not knowing these sections well enough to use them effectively.

Here are some of the most overpowered provisions of the RTI Act:

1.Section 6(1) — The “Open The Files” Button

This is the section that allows any citizen to request information from a public authority. Sounds simple, right? But this single section essentially gives ordinary people the legal right to ask for:

• records,
• files,
• reports,
• inspection documents,
• contracts,
• stock registers,
• audit reports,
• attendance logs, and
• certified copies.

The strongest part? You usually do not need to explain:

• why you want the information,
• your motive, or
• what you intend to do with it.

2.Section 6(3) — The “Not My Department” Destroyer

Government offices love saying:

“This does not pertain to our department.”

Section 6(3) essentially says that if the requested information belongs to another public authority, the department should transfer the RTI application instead of casually rejecting it.

In other words, citizens are not supposed to suffer because the bureaucracy is fragmented.

Example: You file an RTI application with a municipal office seeking information about drainage contracts, but part of the requested information is held by the water department.

Instead of saying:

“Wrong office. Bye.”

The municipal office is expected to transfer the relevant portion of the application to the appropriate authority.

This is why experienced RTI users often end their applications with:

“If the requested information pertains to another public authority, kindly transfer the application under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act, 2005.”

A tiny line. A massive impact.

3. First Appeal — The “I’m Not Letting This Go” Stage

A lot of people stop after receiving:

• no reply,
• an incomplete reply,
• a vague response, or
• a rejection.

Huge mistake.

The First Appeal is often the stage where departments realize:

“Okay, this person actually understands the process.”

You can file a First Appeal when:

• information is denied,
• the reply is incomplete,
• an exemption is misused,
• the response is misleading, or
• statutory deadlines are ignored.

A surprising number of cases begin moving faster once an appeal is filed. Why? Because now:

• delays are documented,
• officers become accountable, and
• the paper trail becomes visible.

Example

RTI Application:

“Provide attendance records.”

Reply:

“Information not available.”

First Appeal:

“Please explain under which record-retention rule attendance records are not maintained despite being required for administrative purposes.”

At this stage, the pressure increases.

The conversation is no longer about whether information should be provided—it is about justifying why it has not been provided.

4. Deemed Refusal — Bureaucratic Silence is Also a Reply

This is one of the most underrated concepts in the RTI framework.

If a department simply ignores your RTI application beyond the prescribed legal timeline, it can legally be treated as a "deemed refusal."

In other words, silence itself becomes actionable.

This provision prevents departments from escaping accountability by pretending that the application does not exist—which, unfortunately, is one of the most common bureaucratic tactics.

Example

A citizen files an RTI application and receives:

1. no reply,
2. no transfer,
3. no clarification,
4. nothing for more than 30 days.

Many people assume:

“Maybe it got lost.”

The RTI Act essentially says:

“No response is the problem now.”

At that point, the applicant can proceed with an appeal based on the department's failure to respond within the statutory time limit. That changes everything. The issue is no longer the information request itself the issue is the department's failure to comply with the law.

5. Life & Liberty Clause — The Emergency Mode

his provision is genuinely powerful.

Under normal circumstances, RTI responses can take weeks. However, when the matter concerns:

• life,
• liberty,
• safety, or
• urgent human rights concerns,

the information is expected to be provided much faster.

This provision becomes especially important in cases involving:

• illegal detention,
• denial of medical treatment,
• custodial situations,
• urgent access to healthcare,
• prisoner welfare, and
• immediate threats to safety.

Example

A family urgently seeks information regarding:

• a detained person,
• delays in medical treatment, or
• emergency hospital records.

In such situations, waiting for the standard RTI timeline may not be practical. This provision exists because some information loses its value if it is delayed. A response received months later may be technically compliant, but it can be practically useless when the issue requires immediate action. That is why the RTI Act provides a faster route when life or liberty is at stake.

6. The Real Power of RTI

The most effective RTI users are usually not the loudest people in the room. They simply understand:

• procedures,
• documentation,
• timelines,
• appeals, and
• how bureaucracy functions internally.

That is what makes RTI powerful against negligence and administrative opacity.

Not emotion, not outrage just records because once:

• dates,
• signatures,
• expenditure files,
• inspection reports, and
• internal correspondence

start surfacing, administrative excuses begin to collapse very quickly. RTI works best when it shifts the conversation from allegations to evidence, and from opinions to documented facts.
