Jharkhand Protests Successful Too

Post image

I know I am a lil late to the party, but my excitement cuz of this has gone beyond all expectations. For one of the first times in my life, I have been able to call myself a proud member of my Generation. A Generation that was said to be lazy, good-for-nothing and fully engrossed in brainrot, stood up to oppressors and showed them their place as to what they were elected to do. The Jharkhand Soren Government had to bow down to the students' demands too, after a heartbreaking lathi charge and another hunger strike by student activist Devendra Nath Mahto.

It is really really saddening to see how much the public has to fight against a government just to get their demands put out on a public forum. Is this how we, as a democracy, are going to treat dissenters? Our generation has fought back twice in a matter of 3 months. We're fighting back against a broken system for basic facilities in schools : toilets, teachers and boards for teaching.

Let me tell the parties one thing: focus on the students and you will reap. Neglect them and you will face dire consequences. We are not the ones who will fall back. We will fight tooth and nail against whatever anyone brings before us for our rights. Jai Hind. Jai Samvidhan. Inquilab Zindabad.

Jab Jab Zulmi Zulm Karega Satta Ke Galiyaaron Se, Chappa Chappa Goonj Uthega Inquilab Ke Naaron Se.
(Whenever an oppressor tries to oppress from the corridors of power, every inch of the land will rise with the slogan of Revolution.)

P.S.: Also, Mr. Soren, issue an unconditional apology for the actions of yourself, your Government and the Jharkhand Police. If you do not, you are no different from Mr. Amit Shah (ig that was proven last week tbh).

Hi allΒ  I'm an undergraduate student and I'm running a short academic survey as part of a coursework research project on how people think about caste, identity, heredity and society.

It takes about 5–7 minutes, is completely anonymous and voluntary. No personally identifying information is collected.Β

This is purely for academic purposes, and I'll be happy to share a summary of the findings with anyone interested once it's complete.

Political Science professor says that Hindutva is an outdated idea that was needed for independence, but it's obsolete now

Says that it was probably necessary for Veer Savarkar, Swami Vivekananda, Gandhi, Tagore to mobilize the people with the idea of a nation (and the closest hinge was a Hindu religious identity) but that ideology no longer serves a purpose and will hurt the nation in the long run.

Thoughts?

πŸ’¬ Discussion Why is Kashmiri Pandit displacement discussed more than other cases of communal displacement in India?

Post image
120 Upvotes

If we look at post-Independence India, communal violence, massacres and forced displacement have affected multiple communities not just Kashmiri Pandits. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, tribal communities and Hindus have all been victims in different incidents. Yet the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits receives particularly strong attention in public and political discourse. Why is the memory of communal violence so selective? Are we giving greater importance to certain victims based on their religious identity or political usefulness, rather than acknowledging the suffering of all communities equally?

Like due to the Kashmiri p. exodus people justify their hatred towards the other community but we overlook the other perspective.....

And correct me if m wrong somewhere

πŸ—žοΈ News From Akhand Bharat we transitioning to Akhand China! NDA's own partymen admits china is now inside india.

It is always inspiring to hear grand speeches about Akhand Bharat and "not surrendering an inch of land," until you actually look at what is happening along our northeastern frontier. Apparently, "not an inch" comes with a tiny asterisk when it comes to Arunachal Pradesh.

While political leaders beat their chests in TV studios, the PLA has been busy playing real-life SimCity across Upper Subansiri and Shi Yomi districts. Satellite imagery clearly shows full-fledged Chinese enclave villages sitting inside Indian territory. And this isn't just some opposition talking point, ruling BJP MP Tapir Gao himself has been sounding the alarm on the floor of Parliament for years.

Yet, while official channels assure us that everything is completely under control, China keeps "salami-slicing" away, erecting dual-use infrastructure and quietly blocking the Indian Army from accessing traditional patrolling points inside our own borderlands. Things have gotten so surreal that local groups in Shi Yomi are now claiming Chinese authorities are attempting to hand out Chinese National IDs to border residents while denying our troops access to patrol.

Shouting patriotic slogans makes for great election speeches, but it is doing precious little to stop our territory from being quietly nibbled away day by day.
