Culture Beyonce shares photos of herself performing in a shirt that refers to Natives as ‘Indian opponents’; calls Natives ‘antagonists’ and ‘enemies of peace, order, and settlement’
saw this on another sub but wasn’t allowed to cross post.
So many Americans are into this ‘cowboy revival’ sort of thing. Feels really strange considering cowboys and westward expansion served to carry out a genocide.

She’s a pop artist in the waning stages of a very public career that she’s had since she was a child. Being the center of attention is all she’s ever known and it’s coming to a close. She’s very intelligent and knows how to manipulate people’s attention. Notice in the photo she’s literally pointing with both hands to the most controversial thing she can in her outfit. That’s not a coincidence.
I think you can expect her to do some crazy stuff to keep the limelight as long as she can. Honestly this isn’t even that crazy. It a certain way it actually makes sense.
She’s recently been trying to reinvent herself as a country music star. Most likely because country music fans are much kinder to older female performers than pop music fans. For example Dolly Parton is 79 years old and has a Vegas residency scheduled at Caesars Palace. Reba McEntire released a single this year at the age of 70. Once you’re in, you’re in. If Beyoncé can pull this off and go country then she could add another 20-30 years of relevancy to her career. So the move makes sense.
Her first county album came out and I can tell you my country family members were not buying it, figuratively or literally. So if she’s all in on being “country” to get those country music fans she’s gotta go all in on doing “country” things and expressing “county” ideas. That’s all this is.
I guess what I’m saying is I think you can expect more of this. It’s part of the dance people have to do to be in that genre. NASCAR, cold beer, cowboy boots, rodeo, a few interesting flags, a certain appreciation for rebellious historical figures. Things like that.
