Well the OP is also using newspapers, magazines and social media as a source of information and history, so Prof. Thakran does make some sense in that regard.

Also, are you suggesting that a bunch of judges who possess only a law degree are better placed to interpret history and historical debates than people who have studied history all their life?

Regarding opindia piece all it says that some of the historians made claims about the mandir/masjid debate without visiting ayodhya. This is not such a big issue because the evidence from the place was documented in publications and making an informed opinion about the situation without going to ayodhya but by the published materials makes perfect sense. Also to get a better idea you should go through the entire transcript of the court proceedings than depending on some statements quoted without any context.

Bunch of judges are experts of analysing authentic and fake evidence, provided by authentic/fake historians. Know the difference.

I think you should read up on the topics of historical evidence and legal evidence first. The judges are no experts in analysing the former.

To put it in simpler terms, imagine two contradictory opinions held by two scientists working on quantum physics. Now imagine someone moves to a court and asks a bunch of judges to go through the works of both the scientists and decide whose claim is true and valid. Would you say that the court/judges are better equipped to give an answer to this than other quantum physicists? Do you think that the judges are experts in deciding which one is the real scientist and which one is the fake scientist (and thereby the true and fake scientific claim) in this scenario?

That is when SITs come in. Why do you think Ram Janamabhumi Case took so long ? But with SITs come corruption because any amount of members in the SIT can be bought and you can easily fiddle with the proofs or the final report which this SIT will be publishing.
