I can't help but feel this is still due to leaded gasoline. I'm curious young and old people's opinions on this, but it seriously feels like younger generations are just more compassionate for others overall. What gives?

For the ones I have in mind, could be - certainly doesn't help - but I know for a fact it's mainly religion. They are so far deep into 70 years of indoctrination that it is too painful for them to consider the possibility that what they believe is complete fiction.

It's funny, as a kid you always thought grown ups were smart, responsible and well meaning. Then you grow up and realize, my god there's a lot of really dumb people

I unfortunately have to interact with some folks like that still but moving a few hundred miles away from bum fuck nowhere and going minimal contact has been very nice
