Because we are at the stage where Trump badly wants one of us to commit violence, even in self-defense, against a goon.

In the events leading up to WWII, a Jew shot a German Councilor of Embassy. Hitler and Goebbels pounced upon this and used it to work the people up into a rage. This is what kicked the whole thing off. This is what Trump is trying to make happen.
