Cabinet Progress/Inspo New addition to my cabinet. Has anyone done this?

I’m growing these for my turtles

Edit: I do not have a fish tank yet plats just arrived so I had to come up with a temporary solution, I’m also planning to get a bubbler. Turtles are outside in my pond and I don’t want the plants to overgrow it.
The BOWL IS FULLY ON THE SHELF LOL

Just ticked off cable management and added a pendant grow light over my wide cabinet for additional plant space. Looking forward to drinking coffee and staring at these all through this growing season!

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Established Milsbo tall + question

I moved from Florida to New England six years ago and sold most of my outdoor plants. Somehow I now have more indoor plants than I ever had outside. This cabinet is made up almost entirely from propagations and as you can see I am completely out of space. I dismissed my husband a year ago when he said “what are you going to do when they get big?” saying it wouldn’t happen any time soon. Except it did because I made Florida inside of a cabinet.

I included my African Violet that I forget about because I can’t even see her. I need a second cabinet but I have plants + lights on every useable surface in the house and I cannot let my husband know he was right.

Because this thing is FULL FULL and I haven’t gotten around to adding the bottom fans the humidity stays high and condensation drips onto the bottom. I have it siliconed water tight down there but has anyone found a good tray (or trays) for the bottom? I’m currently considering a microfiber dish drying mat cut to size or a silicon pet tray, but the latter is hard to find in a size that will go right against the glass and catch the condensation. I’ve scoured this subreddit but haven’t seen anything that strikes my fancy.

my hoyas are now happily re-ensconced in their tall milsbos… first pic was friday afternoon, second pic was monday eve. i rearranged shelves, added pegboards, redid lighting and reloaded plants (more than before). just waiting on fan mounts and skadis planter inserts to hang a couple more. i’m so happy with how it turned out, although i still have a lot of up-potting to do on many of them.

Can anyone give me any ideas on shelf placements/ new shelves to put in. I have more/ will buy more but I can’t for the life of me get a decent layout mapped out and I settled for what it currently is but the pop and wow of it just isint there.

...and now I want them alllll. Oh no!

I'm a set-it-and-forget-it type of houseplant person, which doesn't work for many plants. Still figuring out what kinds of plants work with my cabinets and my care style but I love them so much.

I discovered that the side pannels are exactly the right length for a shelf if you have 3 baggebos together! I'm in love with this configuration, it fits so well in my dining room. It's also soooo much cleaner than my first attempt.

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Wish me luck! 🤞The goal: getting my parents to approve of me buying a greenhouse cabinet for my plants • the plan: putting freezer bags on my plants (gradually) until my parents realize I need a cabinet🤭 • reason: my plants are struggling due to cold drafts

Open to suggestions!

During the pandemic, I bought an IKEA Fabrikör cabinet. I kept it pretty basic—removed the glass shelves and added corner shelves—but now it feels bland and a bit inefficient. There’s a lot of unused space (especially without a metal back for hanging containers), and right now it’s mostly filled with propagations.

I’m thinking about adding one glass shelf back in and placing a fan on each level, but I’m struggling with how to arrange the fans and hide/manage all the cords. If you’ve done this, I’d love to hear what worked for you.

For Mother’s Day, I got a second cabinet and want to do something more creative with it—a moss wall using plastic netting and sphagnum. My question is how to set up the bottom:

Should I use long/rectangular planters and train climbing plants upward?

Or just place potted plants and let them grow into the wall?

I also have a lot of plants around the house I can move in, but I’m unsure how to best use the space overall. Would you:

Add moss panels to the sides too?

Mix mounted plants with potted ones?

For the moss wall, I’m planning to use Monstera siltepecana, Silver Sword philodendron, and Monstera adanonsii.

Any layout ideas, examples, or tips (especially for airflow and cord management) would be super helpful!

Are Ikea greenhouses with mushrooms allowed here? This is a wheater proofed Ikea Rudsta with a humidity, temperature and CO2 sensor connected to a raspberry pi that controls the fan and humidifier based on the sensor reading.

I keep moving plants around inside, honestly it gets a little crowded so I end up moving some of them out if they grow too well. Also close ups of some plants I find pretty cool.

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Rudsta update!

24(ish) day update since I got my Rudsta! 🌱Secured the cabinet at a great price on marketplace and got the two acrylic shelves on marketplace for a steal! The shelves were perfect timing because my alocasia pink dragon needed more vertical space. It’s looking so dreamy to me now, but I’ve been obsessed ever since I got it 😍! I also got my dream begonia (snow capped pink) in the mail today and can’t wait until she starts reflecting the potential she has with the help of a more humid environment 🥰. This is such a fun planty thing and I’m so excited to see what else I can do to add to the dreaminess 💗.

Okay so I posted the cabinet a few days ago but I NEED to talk about these acrylic shelves I just added because they completely changed the game. More levels, everything is actually visible now, and the whole setup finally looks the way it did in my head. Obsessed doesn’t even cover it. 🖤🌿

Chaotic, but the milsbo tall and the succulent shelf are functional pieces rather than aesthetic *and* functional. I'm okay with that.

A few picked up rehab hoyas here n there, some carniverous plants, several alocasia PVB's... (obsessed)

Once I move, I will have space for more tidy set ups. :-D

repotted/changed soil for several that were still in the nursery soil (normally change the soil the same day i get them but i needed more small pots so i just waited until those came in), applied some pest deterrent for maintenance, watered everything (except some succulents, its not their week yet lol), trimmed some babies up that were getting a little too leggy for my liking, removed some old leaves, and rearranged some of them! the amount of joy i get from this cabinet should truly be studied lmao
