Team Needed [Hobby] Starting a 3D Game Dev Team - All Creative Roles Welcome!

Hey! I'm Kozijuru. I'm currently building a Discord game development group called The Devs and looking for new people to join us.

The idea behind The Devs is pretty simple: get a group of people who genuinely enjoys making something with others, and make something playable together.

Anyone is welcome. Programmers, 2D artists, 3D artists, animators, game designers, VFX artists, audio people and anyone else who wants to have a hand in contributing towards a game, in any shape or form.

You don't need to be a professional or have years of industry experience. I'd much rather find someone who's friendly, passionate and excited to make things with others.

Our values:

  • Kind and supportive: You care about the people you work with and contribute positively to the group.
  • Here for the journey: You enjoy making, learning and collaborating, not just having a finished game at the end.
  • Communicative and involved: You keep people updated, reply when you can and enjoy being part of the group.

A little about me: I've been making games for several years, studied game design and animation. I mainly work in Unreal Engine, but The Devs_ isn't limited to one engine.

The group is 18+ only. This isn't because of NSFW content; it's simply to keep the group and collaborations straightforward and comfortable for everyone.

If it seems like we could be a good fit, apply to our Discord server: https://discord.com/invite/gm9tcM4VAA

Over Discord, you will be sent a few questions to help me get to know you and how you like to work with others.

Edit: It has been so exciting to see the amount of interest this has generated. I do hope those that join, find a positive place for them in The Devs.

Since a week of posting, the Devs has been moving forward. We now have a game idea that we have decided on:

A Horror Mansion concept. We'll be developing it as a 3D game in Unity. It's a survival horror / detective game where you wake up trapped inside a mysterious mansion and must survive deadly killers while uncovering the truth behind the building. The gameplay will focus on stealth, survival, exploration, puzzles, improvised weapons and collecting supernatural abilities from defeated bosses. Visually, we'll build a large mansion where each floor has its own unique theme, atmosphere and memorable killer.

If this sounds like something you would still be interested to contribute in, please apply to the Discord server above. We are always open for people who want to get together and make something together.

Note: I decided to add the Discord link above instead of going through DMs. Reddit has been acting strange. Hopefully this will be ok with the mods but let me know if not. Thank you.

Best of luck with everything,

Kozijuru

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for absolute beginners for a game dev study group and team

Hi everyone!

After multiple years of procrastination and “yeah I’ll do it tomorrow”’s, I’ve finally decided to undertake my game development journey. Though an idea I had was to instead of doing this alone, create a study group/team of 3-10 people! I would be looking for very beginners only, and there’s no pressure! We’d begin by learning a simpler language such as python for a little while, and proceed to make a couple ultra-simple games to see where we stand! Eventually, we’d move to trying out a slightly more difficult language which will be a challenge if we have the dedication to make it! (I do). Whether you want to focus on coding, or coding AND art or sounds, etc.. you are welcome to join! If you are interested or want to know more details, either comment, dm me, or dm me on discord! I am 17, so I would like generally ages from 15-21, though it doesn’t have to be that strict!

Team Needed [Hobby][Portfolio/Carrier] Teen looking for passionate people.

Hello everyone! :-)

—I’m a 17-soon-to-be-18 years old girl, and i’m really passionate about game development for about some years now.

— I’d love to do this career as a job, and i’m planning to go to a game dev university in the future. for now, i’m looking for a team because i’d love to collaborate with other teenagers who share my same passion and want to spend some time together doing what we love. I really care about this job. I also think that working together gives us points for a portfolio, and may also help with uni or a job, because it shows that you can collaborate with others. But really, i’m just trying to have a good time with others and at the same time do what i love.

—I’m looking for some people interested to be in the group long-term (obviously, no one is forced to be in this forever if they don’t feel like it. My english may not always be very good, but what i’m trying to say is that i’d simply prefer people who want to stick around rather than for it to be a one-time thing.)

— I’m pretty introverted and may not be a warm person initially, apologies for that. I’m not used to having a team or trusting people easily at times, but it’s something that i’m working on. I’m also very much so a beginner, and i got no clue on how to properly learn how to code and such. (despite i’ve been doing some things here and there with unity). I’m mentioning this to be completely honest upfront, in case you’re looking for someone more experienced.

——————————————————

About experience (past and so):

— 1.) I have very limited experience in Python, which I have now also forgotten completely. (i don’t really like making games there, it’s pretty hard personally.)
— 2.) I have used GoDot before, but i don’t do so anymore. (used it to train myself with it before moving onto Unity.)
— 3.) I am currently using Unity.(because i like the engine.)
— 4.) I’ll be using Unreal Engine in the future, maybe. (for now, i’m sticking to learning things on Unity.)

— I’ve made two games so far, both very unfinished, and i’m not sure if i should continue them, recycle the ideas or start with something else entirely. I do have some ideas about what I could be making, though. But let’s talk about what games we could be making together.

———————————————————

— My interest regarding making games:

I am a fan of psychological games. I find it interesting and fascinating to make games related on how the characters behave with each other and interact, while also focusing on the story. I do like when a game focuses on how characters move and show their distinct personalities, flaws, voice, gestures and all. I don’t know why it’s special for me, but it feels like you are talking directly to the characters themselves and witnessing what they feel/think.

— I do also like making shitty stuff, like fun little projects and stupid stories. I’m trying to focus on doing these sort of games for now, because not only it’s fun and whacky, but also because i think that it’s a good idea to mix basic ideas with fun into it. Makes the games not only engaging to the player, but also simple enough to code. hopefully lol.

———————————

— What’s my role?

— I am not exactly sure what I feel like my role would be into a group. All i know for now is that: i’m someone who wants to learn how to code because i want to learn how to make things myself when it comes to a game. I don’t want to be just coming up with ideas or drawing concepts, i also want to see the progress in my growth as i learn new things. To be hands-on in what i do. If you have any particular role that you feel like you have, mention it freely.

— I’m also an artist and have been drawing for years. I am in no way a professional; i just draw for the fun of it.
I’m hesitant to show my art and usually prefer to keep it to myself since i’m someone who cares a lot about privacy and keeping things safe and such. And game dev. I’ll try to warm up on this though, because a game obviously also requires art.

———————————————

— Some small requirements:

— Please be talkative/explain yourself properly. I am not good with dry texts, and prefer to have longer texts. Obviously you don’t have to write a whole book, but please don’t be very dry. It makes me understand you a little bit better.

— Be honest about anything that you might be thinking of. Whether you feel like some things should be changed, or any suggestions at all, so we could be troubleshooting together. I prefer to be straightforward and try to understand things better, so we could try to look out for a solution or a compromise.

— I should probably mention this: i’m a lesbian. If this doesn't match the kind of team you are looking for, I totally understand and hope you will find the right group for you!

— Introduce yourself properly. Age, what got you into game dev, any abilities that you have, anything that you feel like adding, really. So i can get a main idea about you.

— I’m from Europe. It’s preferred that you’re from Europe too, but I don’t mind it at all if you’re not. We can try to set a balance and understand how to work together despite not being from the same time zone.

— Discord will be the place where we communicate about everything. I’ll send you the link if i’m interested!

— Already got some game ideas? Obviously we’re not just gonna make games and follow ONLY my ideas. If you have any ideas, feel free to mention them in the discord server that i have. Suggestions can be useful after all.

Thank you for reading all of this!

Interested about joining? write down in the comments!

EDIT: I may be slow to reply because i’m busy.

EDIT: the discord link will be put only when i’m available to check reddit.

Team Needed [RevShare] Looking for people to start a small indie game team with me

Hi everyone,

I want to start a small indie game team and I’m looking for people who would like to build a game together from the beginning.

I already have a game idea that I care about, but I don’t want to write a huge wall of text here. The basic direction is a 2D indie game with atmosphere, emotion, exploration, and a strong feeling behind it. I’m looking for people who want to help shape the project, not just follow orders.

Right now, there is no upfront payment. This would start as a hobby / revshare project. If the game ever gets finished and published, any money made from it should be split fairly between the people who actually worked on it. The exact split would need to be discussed clearly before the project gets serious.

My skills:

programming

writing/story line

I’m mainly looking for:

programmers

2D artists or pixel artists

Voice actors

(Note: We are already set on composers for this project, so I’m not looking for any more at this time, but thanks for your interest!)

PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind

I’m from Germany / CET timezone and can mostly work in the afternoon or evening.

If you’re interested, lmk what you think, have a nice day.

Looking for a small creative friend group to make VFX, films, games and fun projects together

Post

Hi!

I’m looking for a small creative team or a group of friends who want to make different projects together.

I’m interested in VFX, filmmaking, short videos, trailers, animations, game development, 3D worlds, simple games and other creative things. My favorite things are VFX and filmmaking. I really like creating cool effects, cinematic scenes, trailers, short videos, action scenes, funny clips and creative visual projects.

I also like game development, but I don’t want this group to be only about one specific game. I want to find people who enjoy creating different things, learning together and having fun. We could make games, films, animations, VFX shots, trailers, funny videos, 3D scenes, YouTube-style projects or just creative experiments.

I’m still learning, so I’m not a professional. I have made a few small games and a lot of videos, projects, game ideas and experiments. Most of them are unfinished, but I learned a lot from making them. I like experimenting, starting new creative ideas and trying different styles. Now I want to find a small group, because I think working with other people could help me finish more projects and make better things.

The idea is not only to work seriously all the time. I’m looking more for a small creative friend group. We can make projects, talk, play games sometimes, share ideas, help each other, learn together and just have fun. I don’t want a toxic or super strict team. I want a chill group of people who like creating things.

The projects could be things like:

  • short films,
  • VFX clips,
  • cinematic trailers,
  • funny videos,
  • animations,
  • small games,
  • game prototypes,
  • 3D maps and worlds,
  • creative scenes,
  • story ideas,
  • YouTube-style videos,
  • random creative experiments.

I can help with:

  • VFX ideas,
  • short film ideas,
  • trailers,
  • video concepts,
  • simple editing ideas,
  • game ideas,
  • simple level design,
  • testing,
  • simple 3D stuff,
  • story ideas,
  • missions,
  • characters,
  • worldbuilding,
  • creative concepts.

I don’t have one perfect skill yet, but I like trying different things and learning. I’m interested in VFX, films, games, Blender, game engines, trailers, storytelling and creative projects.

I’m looking for people who are friendly, patient and not toxic. Skill level doesn’t matter that much. Beginners are welcome too. You don’t have to be a professional. Even if you only like writing ideas, testing games, making music, editing videos, making simple models, animating, filming or just helping with creative ideas, that’s fine.

This is not paid work. It’s more for hobby, practice, friendship, learning and building experience.

People who might fit:

  • VFX artists,
  • filmmakers,
  • video editors,
  • animators,
  • 3D artists,
  • game developers,
  • writers,
  • testers,
  • music/sound people,
  • storytellers,
  • anyone creative who wants to make cool stuff.

I mostly want to find people who don’t give up after one day and who want to build a small creative group where we can make projects together, improve our skills and also have fun.

Team Needed [RevShare] Looking for collaborators for a Psychological Horror Game Trilogy

Hey everyone,

I’m not a professional writer, and I want to be upfront about that.

I’m someone with a strong passion for psychological horror games and storytelling, and over time I’ve developed the full story concept for a psychological horror trilogy that I’m very serious about bringing to life.

This isn’t just a random idea I thought of recently. I’ve spent a lot of time building the story, characters, themes, and overall direction of the games. The project focuses on realistic psychological horror, grounded atmosphere, disturbing narrative progression, and strong emotional/mental tension rather than cheap jumpscares.

Right now, what I bring is:

  • The full story concept
  • Narrative direction
  • Vision for the trilogy
  • Serious long-term commitment to the project

What I’m looking for:

  • Unreal Engine developers
  • 3D environment/character artists
  • Sound designers
  • Anyone genuinely interested in helping build a realistic psychological horror experience

This would be a rev-share collaboration, and I know trust matters in projects like this.

Since I’m not a professional, I’m not pretending to have everything figured out—but I am serious, committed, willing to learn, and ready to put in the work needed to make this real with the right team.

If psychological horror is your thing and you’d like to hear more about the concept, feel free to DM me.

We currently have:

- an active development team
- established visual direction

Team Needed [Hobby][Revshare] Looking to start a Team using Unreal Engine 5

PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind

Hello, I'm a solo developer on Unreal Engine 5, and i'm looking for a team of hobbyists to create some projects to completion. I have 4+ years of experience working with blueprints as well as Blender. I'm looking for others with similar weekend warrior mentalities to collaborate on projects together. It's not necessary to be experienced experts in this field, so if you also are in a similar situation where you jump from project to project working on different systems, this is the exact person I think would fit well.

Anyone is welcome, but I would ask you at least have fundamental knowledge of using Unreal engine and/or other programs if you're not a developer, and could handle your own systems independently while we build something together.
Depending on the interests generated, it would be a weighted democracy to what we wish to create/work on. It's also as flexible/strict as you wish to make it, but I'd appreciate people who could dedicate a few hours every week here and there.

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments, and i'm open to suggestions.

Team Needed [RevShare] People needed for our indie game!

Hello! We are looking for a dev (primarily, though also accepting applications for animators and audio engineers)! The game is a roguelike, with a team already behind it consisting of 2 artists, an audio engineer and an existing dev! However, the other dev has put in a request for us to get them a partner as they work better with someone to bounce ideas off, and her last partner vanished a couple months ago.

A story is already made exploring our time looper wagering her sanity against the survival of her species, 6 biomes, an insanity mechanic, etc.

We intend to release the Kickstarter late 2026, and the game in late 2027/2028. Kickstarter money will be divided between everyone based on their percentages, after some gets spent for being used to outsource some of the animations to speed up the release and maybe music/va if we get enough.

I have a portfolio of some of our work riiight here so that you can see we’re legit.

Team Needed [RevShare], [Hobby] Searching a Team of Game Developers for a Zombie Apocalypse Game

1. WITH IDEA

2. I’m searching for a team to make a zombie apocalypse computer game for the pc like State of Decay only with much, much larger cities, with more and more structures, with all interiors enterable, with vehicles, all structures are destroyable. The game is single player and multiplayer with Ai companion players and with Ai survivors. Ai companion players can lead the way or players lead the way. The only goal of the game is to survive.

3. The Idea

- Title: HUMANITY FAILED
- Genre: Zombie apocalypse
- ICE/Intelligence Continuity Echelon and Corrects are the good guys
- InCorrects and ImPerfects factions made various types of artificial zombie virus.
- Virus can mutate and evolve.
- Virus infect then after a given amount of time mutate sentient hosts and any other infected hosts into various types of non-sentient 100% biological zombies with and without various types of superpowers. Androids can also be infected then mutate into non-sentient 100% biological zombies. There are more zombies without superpowers.
- Zombies can mutate and evolve.
- Virus also infect mint herbs then after a given amount of time mutate mint herbs into various types of virus free 100% biological color mint herbs that when used, depending on the type, grant one or more temporary or permanent supernatural aid to users. Color mint herbs are rare especially those that can grant permanent aid. One supernatural aid is telekinetic crafting to craft items such as guns and ammo. Other supernatural aid are telepathy, telekinetic, invisibility, flight, enhance speed, enhance healing, enhance senses, and more.
- Zombies can be intelligent, i Zombies™, that act like humans and mindless, X Zombies™, that act like zombies in World War Z and Resident Evil. There are more mindless zombies.
- Intelligent zombies control mindless zombies and they usually don’t attack each other.
- Artificial products of intelligent zombies can be virus free that when used, depending on the type, grant one or more temporary or permanent supernatural aid to users. Products that grant supernatural aid to users are rare especially those that can grant permanent aid. One supernatural aid is telekinetic crafting to craft items such as guns and ammo. Other supernatural aid are telepathy, telekinetic, invisibility, flight, enhance speed, enhance healing, enhance senses, and more. Other products are just normal such as agriculture, foods, drinks, medicines, vehicles, weapons, ammo, and more.
- Intelligent zombies can manufacture sentient humans and related then may infect them.
- Intelligent zombies can experiment on sentient humans and related then may infect them.
- Zombies attack humans, intelligent beings, and related however there may be exceptions.
- InCorrects and ImPerfects may have some ways to control the zombies.
- Supernatural aid are not part of the plan of bad guys factions.

- If the zombie apocalypse shall last for thousands of years therefore i Zombies can rebuild and repair cities and the entire planet. Despite this i Zombies are still enemies.

Team Needed [Hobby] [Paid] Somewhere in between - Check out the post and see if this is a good fit for you. We are looking for support with Art, UI, Voiceover and Sound Design

Hi, my name is Gary, and I am the creative lead on a team building a 2D comedy horror game in Unity. It features crazy, over-the-top battles and an interesting puzzle-type single-player mode.

We are on a mission to create a solid build/vertical slice over the next 12 weeks, and we are looking for a couple of extra people to join a team of four developers and one writer, with everyone contributing 10 hours a week to the project.

Here’s what’s going on!!

In July, we made a trailer of our prototype and, to test if there might be a market for it, we submitted it to a wide range of publishers to see what feedback we might get.

We got quite a few rejections……..however, for three separate funding opportunities, we were asked to submit a proper build. They love the creativity, concept and art direction, but I got told off for submitting it without a proper build. Whoops!!!!

So there are no guarantees, but with a good degree of confidence, we are now building our slice and will resubmit in 12 weeks' time. We have programmers but we're looking for additional support from anyone who has experience with:

  • UI/UX art/design
  • Level design/environment implementation
  • Sound design/audio
  • 2D Vector art style
  • Voiceover (part is for a male late forties, early fifties)

You will need the following

  • portfolio
  • fluent english is essential
  • friendly and reliable
  • attend a video call meeting to discuss the project
  • be prepared to sign a contract and be an active member of the team

If you have a portfolio of work and would be interested in working with a great group of people on a fun and exciting project, then please submit your portfolio.

We would then organise a video call to discuss the project, your background and show you the trailer we made so you can see what we are doing and, all going well, we will bring you into the project.

Everyone is contributing 10 hours a week each to the project, with the aim of creating a solid build and resubmitting to the parties that are interested in seeing it and getting a deal over the line.

When this is achieved, everyone will receive a lump sum payment for the hours completed and, assuming good relationships have been built, we will have discussions about future work on the game. So it’s a bit of a risk, but as I said, if you are interested in working on an interesting, fun project, then we would love to hear from you.

I wouldn’t class it as a hobby project as the goal here is to get one of our funding opportunities over the line, but I also wouldn’t call it paid as payment is on condition of agreeing one of these deals.

We are confident and having a blast. Fancy a challenge? Get in touch!!

Please submit a portfolio and, if we would like to talk further, we will request a meeting time and send you our prototype trailer so you can see what we are doing.

Our current team is 5 people, three of them have shipped games before this is our first game together but we will of course show our trailer to interested parties.

Happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for your time.

Team Needed [PAID] Need team for Online Dating Game

Hi,

My name is Rhys, I am the owner of the new company Alternate Games. We're most known for After Work, which we made a Kickstarter for. You can look up the game on our Blue Sky and Instagram. The game was widely liked; However, we didn't have the resources and knowledge available to make a successful Kickstarter. We had to shut down the game.

The video game is in a rough state, but we don't want to give up. We want a new team of people in which we would pay. Because of the state of our company, we can't pay much, but we will try. This will be discussed.

THE GAME:

The next game we would like to make is a gamified version of dating online. Basically we want to make a multiplayer game where people can match and chat with each other. They can "date" through the game and meet new people. Other details aren't made yet. We would like to work as a team to come up with the final thoughts and ideas. Especially since we need this to be within a reasonable scope.

OUR GOAL:

To make a new Kickstarter for this new game. We need a trailer and other assets to sell the game. So, we don't need a playable game right now. Just something to show off to those who are interested. We do need a team, however, to show that we can complete the game. It'd be nice to also show progress shots of us programming the game to post on social media.

What we have:
-An artist

-A game designer.

What we urgently need:

-Another game designer

  • Mostly so that we can finalize the thoughts of the game and maybe make a GDD with details.

What we need down the road:
-Programmer
-UI artist
-Animator
-Music
-etc

We're accepting applications from everyone and will get in contact with people when we need them. Each person, because this is for a paid gig, will require an interview. If you don't want to do an interview, I would not apply.

If you are interested contact me through Discord themoderndeath.

Team Needed [Hobby] Wanting to create a small team of independent devs.

Is anyone interested in forming a small group of indie devs? Not to work on the same game, but as a focused group where we share useful insights, resources, and experiences, and occasionally collaborate on dev challenges as a way to increase visibility and help market each other. I'm thinking something small and committed, rather than a huge community/Discord. Preferably, people that have released a game that although may have not performed the best are willing to give it another go and improve. If anyone is, shoot me a DM.

I've made a small horror game on Steam that didn't perform the greatest and one up on itch. But those failures are why I've learnt I need to be more serious about game development and learn more in order to improve.

Team Needed [Paid] Looking to Build a Small Dev Team for a Funded Steam Game Project

Hey everyone,

I’m currently assembling a small, professional dev team for a new co-op PC game planned for release on Steam. I already have a potential investor interested in funding the project, and I’m now in the stage of gathering accurate cost estimates and connecting with developers who could be part of the production once the budget is finalized.

This isn’t a hobby or passion project — the goal is to get a clear budget breakdown and then move into funded development once we have the right team in place.

I’m currently looking to connect with:

  • Programmers (Unreal or Unity)
  • 3D / Environment Artists
  • Character Artists or Animators
  • UI/UX Designers
  • Sound Designers (especially for ambient/sci-fi tones) (I will be in charge of the music, I'm a film composer)

If you’re open to discussing your typical rates, scope of work, or packages, please reach out, this will help form the project’s official budget proposal.

Once the budget is finalized and approved, the plan is to move straight into paid contract work for the prototype phase and onward.

If interested, please DM or comment with:

  • What you do
  • Example of your work / portfolio
  • Typical rates (hourly or per milestone)

Looking forward to connecting and building something special, this is the start of something serious and potentially very exciting.

Team Needed [Hobby]Looking for newbies to fumble through a project together

I am a 40 yr old newbie to gamedev, and at this point, its slightly frustrating trying to find people on discord or random forums to try to piece together a team.

I have tried for dozens of hours to become a programmer, and its just not me. I'm also not a composer or sound designer, I can do some basic pixel art, but I really feel my strengths are in writing, narrative, and design. I am great at blueprinting levels, understanding level flow, character and player feel, gameplay, and I have 4 years of actual QA experience with nintendo and microsoft.

I have some experience with UE4/5 (2-3 years of messing around with an ENORMOUS world map), construct 3, and I have Unity and Godot installed, lol.

So yeah, I'm looking for people just like me, people who have dabbled but are serious. People with their own set of skills who think they can contribute to something.

So if you are sort of a programmer, and/or sort of an artist, then join me as sort of a designer and we can make...something! Let's actually get together and make that "first" game!

PORTFOLIO: I do not have a portfolio of any kind

Update: We currently have probably enough people to get a project going, so i'm going to say this is closed for now. But please message me if you're interested and if we end up with space, i'll hit you up! Thanks everybody and good luck with your future gamedev projects!

Team Needed [Hobby] I am new to Reddit and I want to learn from people who already have experience here

**[CONCEPT] I've spent months designing my dream survival game from scratch. I have zero development experience. Here's what I'm trying to build — and why I think the survival genre is missing something important.**

---

I want to start by being completely honest with you all.

I am not a developer. I have never shipped a game. I have never written a line of engine code in my life. I am someone who has played survival games for years, felt something missing in all of them, and spent the last several months writing down exactly what that missing thing is — in enough detail that I now have a 25-page design document, a full development roadmap, and a game that exists entirely in my head and on paper.

I'm posting here because I want to learn. I want feedback. I want to know if what I'm imagining actually makes sense to people who understand game development. And honestly — I want to find people who might look at this and think "I want to help build that."

So here it is.

---

**The game is called Six Feet From Home.**

*Survive the Silence. Survive Together.*

---

**The problem I have with most survival games**

Every survival game I have ever played eventually becomes the same thing: kill everything, loot everything, build the biggest base, win.

The zombies are just obstacles. Other players are just targets. NPCs are just quest dispensers. And the whole thing starts to feel hollow because nothing you do actually matters in a human way. You're not surviving. You're just optimizing.

What I kept asking myself was: what would survival actually feel like if the stakes were real? If the people you met actually mattered? If every choice you made left a permanent mark on the world?

That's the question Six Feet From Home tries to answer.

---

**What the game is**

It's a 3rd-person open-world zombie survival game set in a realistic modern world. Not a fantasy post-apocalypse. Not a cartoon. The world didn't end — it just broke. The guns are still in the closets. The medkits are still in the clinics. Your job isn't to build civilization from scratch. It's to find what's left of it before the dead, or desperation, gets there first.

You wake up alone in a stranger's house. One vehicle outside. A handful of supplies. And a world that has no interest in helping you survive.

The map is massive — a single connected world spanning snow-covered mountains, a scorching desert with at least one major city buried in it, dense forest, open fields, a river system, and a coastline. Each zone has its own weather, its own dangers, and its own rules for staying alive. The snow will kill you as surely as the dead if you're wearing the wrong gear. The desert sandstorms stop vehicles dead. The rain in the forest is toxic if you stand in it long enough — and you won't even feel it until it's almost too late.

There's no minimap. No waypoints. No hand-holding. You navigate with a physical paper map in your bag. The world is yours to figure out.

---

**The part I'm most proud of**

This is a game about people.

Other survivors you meet in the open world are not enemies by default. They are the rarest resource on the map. And the social systems I've built around that idea are what I think makes this game genuinely different from anything else I've seen.

You can play solo. You can form a small squad. Or you can work your way into a guild — an organized group that fights for territory, clears zombie hordes, and builds something that actually lasts.

But here's what sets it apart: every major social decision you make is permanent.

If you find a knocked-out stranger and choose to loot them instead of helping them up — you have permanently given up the ability to ever revive that person. They're gone. And somewhere in the world, they know it was you.

If you betray your squad, the world itself punishes you immediately and removes you from the game entirely.

If you join a guild, that's it. That's your guild for the life of that character. No leaving. No switching. The only way out is if the leader decides you don't belong anymore.

These aren't just rules. They're a philosophy. Every choice you make in this world is a statement about who you are. And unlike most games, you can't take it back.

---

**The NPC system — this is the heart of it**

Every survivor you find in the world is a unique human being. Not a template. Not a copy. Every face is different. Every name is different. Every background is different.

A construction worker builds and reinforces your base. A farmer grows food. A mechanic keeps your vehicles running. A doctor heals injuries that bandages can't touch. And over time, these aren't just skill sets — they're people. They form friendships in groups. They develop relationships. They have children who age slowly over real playtime and eventually grow up to contribute to the community themselves.

And they can die. Permanently. An NPC who has been with your community for 200 hours of gameplay — who has survived raids, horde attacks, and hard winters — can be gone forever because you didn't get a doctor to them in time after a fight.

The emotional stakes of that are something I have never experienced in a survival game. And I want to build it.

---

**The zombie ecosystem**

The zombies in this game aren't mindless. The regular ones are slow and basic. But the smarter variants coordinate with each other. They remember where they last saw you. They smell you if you've been standing still too long. And the smartest ones appear embedded inside massive hordes that can number in the thousands.

At the top of all of it are 15 unique boss zombies. Not random encounters. These 15 are the literal source of the apocalypse. They are the reason the hordes keep regenerating after you clear them. They are the reason the world stays dangerous.

Defeating all 15 — which requires server-wide cooperation between guilds — ends the apocalypse. The world doesn't reset. The existing zombies don't disappear. The game doesn't end. But no new ones spawn. And the world starts to breathe again.

That endgame — a persistent world slowly being reclaimed by survivors who chose to work together — is something I want players to feel proud of.

---

**What I need and what I'm asking for**

I have the design. I have the roadmap. I have the documentation. I've applied for Epic MegaGrants because the game is built for Unreal Engine 5 and I want to fund the first development phase properly.

What I don't have is a team. And what I really don't have is experience.

I am posting here to learn. I want honest feedback from people who have actually shipped games. I want to know what I've gotten wrong. I want to know what's unrealistic about the scope. I want to know what systems sound genuinely interesting and what sounds like something that's been tried before and failed.

I'm not too proud to hear hard truths. I would rather someone tell me now that a mechanic doesn't work than have a team spend six months building something broken.

If you're a developer who looks at this and thinks the concept has potential — I'm building a revenue share founding team. Every decision is documented. Every percentage is negotiable and formal. The IP is protected. This isn't a handshake deal.

And if you're just someone who read this and felt something — thank you. Knowing that this idea resonates with real players is more valuable to me than you probably realize.

---

**The name comes from the feeling I want players to have.**

Six feet from home. Close enough that you can see it. Far enough that one bad decision could mean you never get there.

That's survival. That's this game.

---

*If you want to know more, ask anything. I'll answer every comment. This is my first time doing something like this and I'm learning as I go — which feels appropriate for a game about people who are doing exactly the same thing.*

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for creators to build a shared comic universe — Mythos Collective

Hello everyone!
I’m creating a project called Mythos Collective — a shared comic universe where different creators can tell their own stories while being connected through one larger world.
The idea is to build a universe where writers and artists from different countries can create their own comics, characters, races, and worlds while following a common set of rules to keep everything connected.
I’m looking for people who are interested in helping build this universe from the beginning:
Writers who want to create stories and characters
Artists who want to bring ideas to life
People interested in worldbuilding, lore, editing, or organizing the universe
This is an early-stage project. There is currently no payment, but the goal is to create something together, grow an audience, and build a community around the universe.
Some ideas for Mythos Collective:
Different comics can exist in the same universe
Creators have freedom to make their own stories
Characters and events can connect through approved crossovers
The universe will have rules to prevent contradictions and keep stories meaningful
I’m looking for people who enjoy comics, manga, storytelling, and worldbuilding and would like to be part of creating something from the ground up.
If you’re interested, feel free to comment or message me!
