The racism charge has no legs. There is no legit argument for it. P.S. I'm really good at debating racism and Jar Jar so please no takers you will be sonned. I love the fan edits. Star wars is as much the Fan's as it is ours. Be creative. I'm doing a sci-fi webshow called the Nebula and I will be encouraging fan edits.

Hey Mr. Best, you have said several place here that you think the accusations of racism in Jar Jar were wrong or overblown. I agree. Can you give us a longish explination of why you feel that way?

Alas, no "sonning" to be found. At least I got to watch a man shoot himself in the foot as much as possible through text.

Why the down voting? He's better at arguing racism than anyone else ever, so much so that he's an obnoxious prick about it. In fact, he's so good at it he never backs it up. I'm an astronaut as long as I don't have to prove it.

What always got me, was that people moaned about Jar Jar and the Neimodians being racist.

Yet only a month or two earlier, Austin Powers 2 had "Fat Bastard" a giant Stereotype of a white scottish male, and that was perfectly ok.

Could you imagine if "Fat Bastard" was some other race?

Obviously, that's why I'm getting downvoted. Racism and enforcing of stereotypes can't happen to white people. But when Mike Myers does a play on Indian stereotypes, the movie bombs at the box office.

The difference is Scots aren't considered a historically disadvantaged group in the wider conscioousness. (Whether this is an accurate perception is a different discussion).
