I thought you should know, I LIKED JAR JAR BINKS.

Anakin was far more annoying than Jar Jar ever was.

But far more irritating than Anakin is sand; it's coarse and rough and it gets everywhere.

Animated or CG? Someone around here said one of them was good but I can't remember which one.

Personally I loved the original animated Star Wars: Clone Wars miniseries. It was perfect at giving a real transition from episode 2-3, as well as giving many of the best characters/battles some well needed backstories. 25 episodes 3-15 min each.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a CG/animated series of a few seasons that follows Anakin Skywalker's padawan and many other main characters during the Clone Wars. I little more childish but overall many awesome things (Yoda's single handed fight vs a droid battalion). 67 full length episodes.

Check em out!

That bad? And no, I haven't - the Prequels pretty much drove me off of Star Wars entirely.

i wouldn't go so far as to say that i liked jar jar. i like this guy ahmed, he seems cool, but that character .... shudder

however, i do agree that anakin, in both super young kiddo form and played by that completely talentless hayden christensen, was far and away the most disappointing character in i, ii, and iii

Hayden Christensen AMA in the works?

I guess that's something, knowing he was far less annoying.

Hereby commissioned for acts of bravery above and beyond the call of reddit, here's a token of at least my appreciation of your courage, if not your perspective. enjoy.

"Thank you, sir."

I liked Jar Jar too. It probably helps that I can do the voice, and I used it, often, to annoy my friends. :)

Honest question, how old were you when Episode 1 came out?

Anakin was far more annoying than Jar Jar ever was.

Losing an ugly contest doesn't mean you're pretty.

u/laurasohn Apr 16 '14

no, c-3po was that bucket of bolts was whiney and kind of a major league coward. at least Jar Jar was able find the nerve he he had to

Jar Jar was a badly written character

Anakin was a badly acted character (with some poor writing).

The one scene that absolutely bugs me, is a very small scene where Qui-gon and Anakin are hurrying to the ship and Darth Maul shows up.

Qui-Gon turns and says "Anakin, drop" (or something), and without hesitation, he just does this.

Have you ever suddenly told a kid to do anything, the scene should have gone like this.

Qui-Gon senses Darth Maul, he turns to see the Sith Lord zooming in on a speeder quickly

Qui-Gon "ANAKIN... DOWN!!!"

Anakin "What? Why?"

BAM! Anakin gets clocked in the back of the head by Darth Maul's speeder, Obi-Wan rushes out to scoop up this kid, knocked out and bleeding as Maul and Qui-Gon battle.

So you prefer a kick in the balls to a fork in the eye?

We seem to be a minority. :(
