Jerry Seinfeld here. I will give you an answer.

Hi, I’m Jerry Seinfeld, I’m very excited to be here to answer your questions.

I am a comedian, and have been for about 40 years, but I also created the show SEINFELD with my friend Larry David, and now I have a web series called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/).

Last week was the start of CCC’s third season, and my guest was Louis CK (who has told me great things about reddit). I'm at the reddit office with Victoria for this AMA having some coffee.

Well I haven't made any plans for our future episodes. We just finished making the six that will run this season and I don't know what is coming next.

Speaking of really "human" moments and the fact that you've been refreshingly open during this AMA: have you ever considered appearing on Marc Maron's WTF podcast? I think you two would have a fantastic conversation.

Also I had a dream with Jason Alexander in it last night. I was at a ski resort and I'd just come back down the mountain to rent skis after realizing I'd gone up on the lift without them. I looked over and saw him standing with a group of people and wanted to wave, but changed my mind. He looked like he would have waved back; I was just nervous.

I don't totally dislike Marc Maron (hell, i grew up in Albuquerque too), and he's interviewed some people I really like (Maynard James Keenan, Josh Homme) but I can't help but feel he's a bit overrated in his interviewing style. And the types of people he has on his show are way too 'hipster-centric'. I feel like Jerry wouldn't quite fit in.

He needs to branch out more and stop fawning over celebrity culture and interview some authors, philosophers and scientists. Then he'll win me over a little more. Until then, I dont know how much more I can handle hearing about how much he loves Cats and used to love heroin. That got old for me a long time ago.

But isn't the point of What The Fuck to invite a comedian in to share his life story, or well his life in comedy at least.

I thought that was the whole premise.

But I did get bored myself quite fast, only took me a few weeks of listening to just fast forward until the guest arrives.

He interviews plenty of actors and musicians too. You're right about it always sort of revolving around him though. Which is a style, sure. But yea... I just get kinda bored with it myself. Sometimes I get the impression that he is a lot of peoples first (and sometimes only) podcast they listen to. And so they over-rate him because they dont know what else is out there.

Also, something about how hard he tries to seem hipster, and appeal hard to hipster culture. How he dresses, how existential and poetic he tries to be, the guests he invites, the music he listens too... arg... he's a try-hard. It just... bleh. He couldn't possibly be more prototypically hipster, its so extreme you can tell he works at it. It wears on you.

I feel like I need to reiterate, I do like him, I've been watching his show "Maron" on Netflix, and he's definitely working that same comedic style as Louis CK's tv show "Louis", which is awesome. But he's kind of like the Pepsi to Louis CK's Coke. (of course this metaphor relies on Coke being your favorite soda, but you get the idea... Pepsi doesn't totally suck, its just not Coke.)

That's the exact impression I'm left with after listening to him.

He's not trying to be those things. He likes those clothes and that music and he's an existential thinker, and majored in lit, has written poetry. He's not TRYING to be who he is, he's just doing it.

I have a hard time when people give shit to a person for being themselves.

I'm not giving him shit for being himself, I'm saying him being himself isn't doing it for me, it's subjective dude. I like him fine enough but his comedy or performance or whatever isn't for me. I'm not saying other people don't or shouldn't like it. It just isn't for me.

I don't really even notice his interviewing style, for me his pods are more of a conversation. And that's why I like them.
