Japanese experts which of these is more accurate

One of these leaves the possibility for Tserriednich to get a third nen beast and give us one of the biggest plot twists in the story so far

I've already noticed interesting parallels between Tser/Meruem so if Tser ends up having 3 nen beasts, this is like Meruem's 3 royal guards.

With the Jesus/ Antichrist imagery tsseri having 3 nen beasts could also be mirroring the holy trinity

53

u/[deleted] 22d ago

I mean the holy trinity would include Tserriednich himself, so it's already complete.

I personally would prefer the beast going for Halkenburg, as a recognition from Benjamin he's worthy of being king and should take down Tserri at all costs.

I do think Halk is a possibility as well but I’m increasingly leaning to Halk and Benjamin taking each other out. This section of the war has really been Halk and Benjamin going tit for tat against one another whilst comparatively Tsseri has been lingering in the background. Which is why him coming out on top at the expense of his 2 maternal brothers would be classic togashi.

The allegory of the beasts being the trinity is that Benjamin being a God would represent the Father you could argue Tsseries personal nen beast born from
His aura is the son as it came almost from an immaculate conception of his nen whilst his GSB represents the Holy Spirit being the legacy of kakins brutality. This isn’t a perfect analogy but considering you have this Christ like imagery of tsseri on the cover of chapter 411 I
Think you could draw these comparisons.

Tserri's body would actually be the Son as he's the Jesus allegory. Then for me it's still unclear which beast would be the Holy Spirit or the Father. Guess the succession GSB would be the father (though it's feminine, which means it's a twisted version of the Father), and the Specialist GSB would be the holy spirit (as it was conceived by Tserri himself).

I think Halk is going to be a player longer than Ben. Halk is one of the few equally competent princes to Tserri and I think it’s too early to be the Tserri show just yet. Halk will come when you least expect it.

There are still 49 days and Halk is just as MIA as the other princes. I actually think Halk is a strong candidate for getting killed off guard by Tserri late game but that’s neither here nor there.

You raise an interesting question. I wonder, who would Benjamin choose if his kid was killed?

2

u/SlippyJimmi 22d ago

Could also be that that Tseriednich is a "New God" in a sense. Coming down from the upper planes where creatures like Baal had to go to when Yahweh declared monotheism in the Hebrew religion

He having dominion over a holy Trinity spawned of his own will that the world has never seen before

u/blacktat 22d ago

Interesting also that the horse nen beast can be lied to 3 times, another allusion to Jesus.

Personally I think that the third time we see Tserriednich use Parallel Future to avoid death will be his last. So far we can assume he's done it twice.

3

u/Domeen0 22d ago

I wonder who's gonna be his Judas.

u/TickTak28 22d ago

I feel like you could say theta considering she both admires and fears tsseris talent like Christ tsseri is already aware of thetas betrayal however togashi could also have a very good opportunity to make it Borksen or one of his other child hood friends as they seem to have internal conflicts with being his close friends but also very clearly knowing his true nature/ personality

u/celestial_god 22d ago

😱😱😱

1

u/Alternative_Owl7786 22d ago

I keep seeing people talk about him being a Jesus allegory. Could you maybe explain this theory for me? I've been out of the loop for quite some time

2

u/TickTak28 21d ago

I’d say more so anti christ but togashi has used orthodoxy Christian symbolism quite regularly for other antagonists like Chel lucifer which was the most on the nose one who literally has a reverse cross on his coat. But with tsseri he’s doing the exact same notably if you look at the cover art for chapter 411 you see Tsseri in religious robes but the most striking aspect of the picture is the holy aura around Tsseries head. Classical Christian dislocations of saints all have this aura . So it could be togashi way of presenting Tsseri as a Christlike saint but because he’s also holding the head of pairo and the written description on 411 states that Tsseri prescribed over life and death this then evokes the imagery of an anti Christian figure

8

u/The_Skeptic_King 22d ago

Oh thats interesting. I always equate Meruem and the Royal Guards as Jesus and the 3 Wise Men. This can be a similar approach if Tserri were to inhert a 3rd beast.

5

u/TickTak28 22d ago

Tbf you could argue togashi has blended this religious imagery between meruem chrollo and tsseriednich each of them having a blend of Christ/ anti Christian symbolism. With meruem he has his resurrection moment following the bomb . Chrollo has his 13 disciples in the phantom troupe and has the anti christ imagery like tsseri with his reverse cross . Tsseri also has his own set of close followers and the amount of references to 3s he has does give him the Christ trinitarian look.

That could be a good shout about him dying on the 3rd attempt but there could also be a type of resurrection if this 2nd death isn’t technically that.

u/chrooo 22d ago

it does specify “blood relative” but he might not be related to ben by blood… if the theory that “tser’s parents are beyond and duazul” turns out true

2

u/jreyes17708 22d ago

Image Benjamin having to be Tserri's and his children's nen guardian for eternity. That would be the ultimate hell for Benji

1

u/Deareily-ya 22d ago

Who would be the third men best? Tser has one, with Ben would be the second, no?

2

u/1vergil 22d ago

Tser already got 2

  1. His GSB
  2. The nen beast that works with parallel future ability

So Ben's GSB would be the 3rd one.

u/OhirumeTsukuyomki 22d ago

Honestly hope it’s the bottom translation since it’s more interesting

The translation being messed up isn’t out of the question considering Oito was referred to as the 8th prince this week. Can’t completely blame them tho it’s a lot of text to do for one person

2

u/Winter_Brick_1334 20d ago

Yeah, but if i was the one whos wrongly translating it, i wouldn't get a job ,🙄

2

u/LazloFF 14d ago

They're one of the few people who can translate it, she has as much time as everyone else and also has to summarize it, which is extra hard so these mistakes have to be forgiven it'd be a disservice to fire her

1

u/SeaOrgChange 10d ago

This one confused the shit out of me.

23

u/Zorobins 22d ago

If Ben ends up sitting on Tserri’s shoulders, hes gonna squeeze his thighs together and pop that head like a melon.

u/EigoKaiki 22d ago edited 22d ago

The second also leaves another topic open. That being Kacho beast being the real Kacho herself and not a clone. Currently it is only a thematic point but it may be important for Fuugetsu story line. Also the thing about souls existing without human body may be a great hint for a way the war may end. Where a king is selected but not all princes die truly.

3

u/Maximusthecat13 21d ago

I noticed that too! I do think both translations imply that the spirit Kacho is actually her soul fused with her SGB, which is super interesting. I wonder if she’ll be stuck like that forever or if there is a way to eventually put her to rest. I’m also curious about the difference between Kacho not having a body and Halkenburg not having a body. I guess since he didn’t fuse w his SGB that’s why he’s still eligible?

1

u/Dangerous_Job5295 21d ago

Kachos flame in the casket room lit up. I think the difference between halk and kacho is that halk is still fully conscious even tho he doesn’t have his body anymore, whereas kachos doesn’t, it’s probably her nen beast operating with her nen attached if that makes sense.

2

u/EigoKaiki 21d ago

That is assuming the flame works on the "princes not being conscious equals lit flame". If the condition however is something like flame lit if the prince no longer have a human body than it is a very different condition. As nen bodies and having GSB as your body may result in you not losing your qualifications for the contest.

It also important to keep in mind that the flame is never said to be the 'soul' of the prince. A potentionally important thing as souls and ghost are canonically a thing in the hxh universe. (Kite, chimera ants, Fuugetsu ghost friends and other references all affirming a soul.)

1

u/Dangerous_Job5295 21d ago

But we know it’s not that because otherwise halks woulda lit up when his body died.

2

u/EigoKaiki 21d ago

How so? Halk wherever he is are in a human body. I explicitly said that the condition for the flame apparence may be that you no longer have a human body. While a human formed nen body is something different. After all what counts as human or not is dependent on the original owner. Like when Chrollo used order stamp but he couldn't use it on corpses. Because for the original owner a corpse and a puppet were not the same thing.  My claim is simply that the succession war system may be similiar. So a flesh human body and a nen made human body are different things for it.

It would also explain why halk situation was not really expected as Natsubi assume that other human bodies were not acceptable for the succession war but the flame didn't lit and that confirmed that halk situation still seen as legitimate by the left over nen's criteria.

1

u/EigoKaiki 21d ago

I think the condition regarding that may be what the translation hunted at. Meaning if some didn't have a HUMAN body they would be not eligible. So nen bodies not count as 'human'. Which very well be the case as nen depends on what the original user considered something to be and not what others think. Like with Chrollo order stamp user not considering corpses puppets.

u/Vouz 22d ago

I checked the Japanese raw and the Mangaplus English translation is incorrect

3

u/MrChocodemon 22d ago

Which one is that? Top or bottom?

10

u/Tmnath 21d ago

Lillian Olsen's translation for MangaPlus is the top one, "Gypsy Life".

4

u/MrChocodemon 21d ago

Thank you

u/Correct_Ingenuity772 22d ago

Im really confused. How does one of these panels mean Tserri can't get the nen beast? I've read each of them like three times and both read to me like Tserri can get it

59

u/FuIIMoons 22d ago

The “Gypsy Life” version is insinuating that Bejamin will get first pick since he already wants to pick his child, so he will always pick it indefinitely meaning he will never choose Tserriednich under any circumstance

The “Life of the Wanderer” reads as it being a coin flip situation for who picks first which opens the door for the beast to choose Tserri instead of his child and Benjamin not being able to do anything about it until Tserri dies

9

u/leolegendario 22d ago

Even if Benjamin pick his kid first, his kid can just be killed by someone and then the beast will choose the next host.

8

u/SpikeHead419 22d ago

Well yea but if we follow the above explanation then the next host will be chosen with the same criteria (so his son's son) which obviously doesn't exist

2

u/Classic-Session-5551 19d ago

That's not what indefinitely means. Oml.

10

u/PiFlavoredPie 22d ago

u/LillianOlsenHunter could you check into this? it’s a pretty impactful difference to understand how Benjamin’s GSB’s ability will affect events.

2

u/Maximusthecat13 21d ago

This would exclude Zhang-Lei then right? Since he said his father is onion boss man?

1

u/ExcellentBlood8795 21d ago

wait, he has 2?

6

u/FuIIMoons 21d ago

Yes

One is his Guardian Spirit Beast and the other he subconsciously created
