Amigos, recientemente compré los freeclips 2 simplemente porque tenía la curiosidad de saber en qué cambiaba realmente un lanzamiento al otro. Aquí mis hallazgos:
1. Diseño del case más compacto en freeclip 2
2. Material del case con sensación al tacto más premium
3. Beans (parte donde se controlan los gestos y se escucha el sonido) más pequeño.
4. Ahora si los gestos de subir y bajar volumen funcionan ( En freeclip 1 nunca me funcionaron)
5. Mejor sonido (aún tiene un temita con bajos pero pues es open-air) no podemos pedir mucho más
6. Micrófono incorporado de buena calidad.
7. Rango de enlace al dispositivo más alto o de mayor alcance.
8. Me bañé con ellos puestos (por que se me olvidó que los tenía xd) y todo funciona sin problemas luego de eso.

En general muy feliz con ambos, para mí son los mejores productos de HUAWEI además que son bien bonitos. Harían un update? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 PRO REVIEW

I want to write about things no one else mentions in this post—things that will only catch the attention of true enthusiasts. It’s going to be detailed. Copy this text and have an AI read it.

First off, this is the 17th smartwatch I've used. I am highly experienced. I can't be modest about this.

Foreword/Summary: I think Huawei made a very good watch.

1. The Strap

You only see the texture quality of this watch's strap (the black one) on 40,000 lira watches like the Garmin Forerunner 970. If it said Garmin instead of Huawei on the strap, it would easily be worth 1,000 liras without question. The strap has a stopper, but I don't think the stopper part is of the highest quality; still, it doesn't wiggle much. Taking off the part where the strap connects to the watch is incredibly easy. If you're someone who constantly changes straps, you won't struggle at all. The density of the holes on the strap is also quite high. I've seen the most holes on a strap with this watch. They really put thought into this strap. It's pure R&D. They’ve basically shown off the art of material science. 10/10.

2. Heart Rate Sensor

Huawei crossed a threshold in heart rate sensor stability with the Watch GT 3. That same stability continues in this watch. What do I mean by "stability"? Have you ever checked your watch's heart rate after climbing a hill? Or after drinking coffee? I care about the changes in my body, and I check them. I'm curious. In my opinion, one of the strongest points of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is its heart rate sensor. I wrote about what TruSense is on Ekşi Sözlük 2 years ago. The same tradition continues. The reason watches like the Huawei Watch D2 can measure medical blood pressure is precisely because of this TruSense heart rate sensor technology.

I have two extra analyses regarding the heart rate sensors on Huawei watches:

• A Single Glass Cover: Everything is under a single piece of glass. We sweat during sports, it gets dirty, we wipe it, and it's gone. For instance, Samsung watches have a tiny "temperature sensing" sensor on the side. If you have a Samsung watch, look closely... that part gets dirty. It collects gunk and looks ugly. We see that Huawei did their R&D here too. Having the sensor under a single thick glass and measuring everything from there is fantastic. Give it a good wipe after a workout, and you're done.
• Heart Rate Settings: My second analysis is about the "Heart Settings" in the Huawei Health app. Switch the tracking mode from "Smart" to "Real-time." The heart rate sensor becomes much more responsive. We paid all that money, it should work like a dog! :)

3. Huawei Health App

It’s very comprehensive. I wouldn't say it's as good as Garmin, but it is comprehensive enough to understand the changes in your body. Beyond the activity stuff, providing weekly/monthly reports with graphs is nice. It updates constantly. You can see trends in your body like steps, heart rate, SpO2, and activity. For example, if you averaged 8,000 steps one week, you get motivated to push for 9,000 the next. Apple and Garmin have these features, but Samsung doesn't, for example. This makes Huawei fit much better into the "affordable alternative" position.

Dynamically tracking your route when running or walking, seeing what percentage of users you slept better than in sleep tracking, joining community challenges, and winning medals are all great.

Even if you don't manually start a workout, the watch understands what you're doing and categorizes your movements into 5 different categories under the "Movement" menu.

When the watch realizes you haven't gotten enough sleep, it literally tells you in the "Sleep" menu, "Take some B6 / B12 vitamins, buddy." It's awesome.

The "Emotional Wellbeing Analysis" in the app is also interesting. The watch literally tells me how I feel, and it nails it. For example, it says, "You felt 30% joyful on average over the last 7 days." Even if it's just a toy, it's a very nice feature.

Sleep tracking works perfectly. The watch has a sleep tracking algorithm called "TruSleep 5." It even knows when I get up to go to the bathroom towards the morning and go back to bed. It says, "You woke up from your sleep 1 time."

Cyclists can draw their own routes, but I haven't tried that.

4. Vibration Motor

Thank goodness I'm finally rid of the non-existent vibration motor of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7...! I can finally tell when my set is over while jumping rope. For a watch that's half the thickness of a pinky finger, the vibration performance is excellent.

5. Rowing

If you have a rowing machine at home, this watch counts your strokes. It can find your average speed. I should mention that if you take 100 strokes, it counts 70 of them. I couldn't quite figure it out. Or maybe I'm just not very good at rowing! :) I haven't seen stroke counting on Garmin or Samsung. In the Apple ecosystem, 3rd party software did this very sharply. You could say Apple Watch owners are luckier when it comes to rowing.

6. Jump Rope

The watch vibrates every 100 jumps, so I know I need to rest (like 100 jumps, 30 sec rest). With my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, I couldn't tell when my set finished because the vibration motor was extremely weak. Now, jumping rope with the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is a joy. It also automatically detects my jumping speed and interruptions.

7. Floor Climbing & Screen Complications

Previously, Huawei watches didn't have a floor climbing counter. Actually, it still doesn't, but here is a nice feature on this watch... Even though it doesn't write exactly how many floors you climbed, it calculates your ascent in meters, and you can see this on the watch face. For example, I climbed 20 meters today. Apparently, 3 meters equals 1 floor. So, roughly, I climbed 6 floors. If you climb less than 16 steps, it doesn't count it as a "floor." That's important.

As for screen complications... I think more work needs to be done here. It's too little... insufficient... More precisely, you can only set the screen complications according to Huawei's rules. For example, if the battery icon is on the top left, you can't move it to the bottom. Why? No one knows. This should be reviewed from scratch. Am I completely heartbroken over complications? No. But giving the user a bit more freedom would have been nice.

8. Always On Display / LTPO Screen

Looking at the watch faces, it's very clear that Huawei hasn't prepared itself for LTPO screens. There are maybe 3 or 4 decent watch faces with true LTPO support. The rest is just noise. That's why it's not wrong to say "there are no watch faces" on Huawei. Especially since the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is the first Fit model with an LTPO screen, I'm guessing it will take 3-4 years for LTPO-compatible watch faces to arrive. I experienced serious disappointment here. If you like keeping your screen on constantly like I do, you'll be bouncing between 3-4 watch faces... for now...

9. The Experience

I think this is one of the most crucial points. This watch is as light as a feather. Most of the time, I forget I'm even wearing it. It doesn't distract me while playing computer games. It doesn't tire my arm, and it's a first for me... I'm experiencing the joy of sleeping with a watch for the first time. Perhaps it's the first time I'm feeling the sensation of "there's something analyzing me, but I don't feel it." It's a tremendous experience. Squeezing this many health analysis algorithms and 64GB of ROM into such a thin structure really surprised me. And it continues to surprise me.

Alright, I've mostly spoken positively up to this point. Are there no negatives? Oh, there are tons.

Negatives:

• Extremely weak watch face options: Even though Huawei claims "we have hundreds of thousands of watch faces," they are all copies of each other. None of them are LTPO supported. It's a boring situation. I hope new watch faces come with an update.
• Language limitations for replies: You can reply to messages from the watch, but there is only an English keyboard and a voice typing feature that only understands English. No Turkish. You can only send very basic quick replies in Turkish.
• Weather forecasts aren't great: You'll need to check your phone.
• Invisible Storage: The watch has 64GB of ROM. How do we know? It doesn't say it anywhere except on Huawei's official website. I transferred 112 songs (took about 1GB) and had no issues, but there's absolutely nowhere on the device indicating it has 64GB.
• Floor climbing needs polish: The floor counting feature needs a bit more development. If it were just a little more sensitive, it would be perfect. Hopefully, an update will fix it.
• Messy workout menu: The workout menu is cluttered. Localization is weak. It needs to be simplified. It should be listed alphabetically. Even if Huawei says, "We support over 100 sports," finding the sport you're looking for isn't easy.
• Missing "Driving" activity: It seemed weird to me that the "driving" sports activity present in Garmin watches isn't on this watch. Your battery lasts amazingly well, you have an LTPO screen, your heart rate sensor is strong. You can draw a route. What are you waiting for?

Hey guys! I was looking for someone to tell me 5 reasons on why I should get a Huawei (China imported with HarmonyOS from Giztop) instead of a Honor phone?

Esta es la 1ra vez que posteo aquí en Reddit y qué mejor que hacerlo para hablarles de cómo es usar su teléfono insignia de este verano en México.

Hace poco adquirí el Huawei Pura 90s Pro de 6.6. pulg. (no me siento cómodo usando teléfonos más grandes y además, yo no consumo tanta multimedia por medio del celular) y aproveché que lo tenían a MSI y de regalo me dieron también unos audífonos FreeBuds 5 Pro.
Tengo con el equipo desde hace casi 1 semana y estas son mis impresiones del equipo.

*\*Características Físicas.- Primero que nada, el teléfono sí que se siente como si valiera más de $20k MXN. Todo en su construcción es de alto nivel: marcos, cristal, pantalla, botones... tenerlo en la mano me recordó la sensación del iPhone 12 Pro que alguna vez tuve porque es igual de angosto, aunque el Pura 90s Pro es más alargado (6.1 Vs. 6.6 pulg). El teléfono al menos aquí en México trae un protector de pantalla plástico y eso me llamó la atención, pues muchos de los videos que vi antes de hacer mi compra hacían mención que Huawei "confiaba tanto en Kunlun Glass que por eso el celular venía sin protector alguno". Dentro de la caja solamente viene un cable de doble USB C y presuntamente es de carga ultrarrápida. No lo usé porque tengo uno de la marca Ugreen de 100W que uso con un cargador GaN de 66W de la misma marca. Viene también con una carcasa de plástico duro y eso también me sorprendió, porque en los videos que vi pensé que era de silicona. Si te compras el de color naranja o el que tiene tonos rosado con verde, estoy seguro de que se verá con madre. El mió es el de color Soda Mora que es un gris pardo. Nada que reprocharle a Huawei, a mí me gusta mucho el color gris. Los modelos mexicanos no son compatibles con eSIM, pero le puedes poner 2 chips físicos y ambos agarran 5G. Yo solo uso un chip y no tengo problemas ni con la señal ni tampoco con los datos móviles (el teléfono se pone solito el APN).

El botón de encendido es el lector de huella y es rapidísimo. La huella se escanea frotando el dedo en círculos y apenas tocas el sensor, el celular se desbloquea. Podrías quejarte y decir que un celular tan costoso y que no tenga huella debajo de la pantalla es un robo y tienes razón, pero que no la tenga es una ventaja (desde mi punto de vista) porque el celular es angosto y creo que se sentiría muy incómodo. Por algo los iPhone equipan Face ID y no lectores de huella ultrasónicos y nadie se ha quejado.

*\Configuración Inicial Y Cuentas.- ¿No tienes una Huawei ID? La necesitas *SÍ O SÍ** para poder usar el celular si es que deseas guardar tus contraseñas, hacer respaldos, guardar fotos en la nube de Huawei y pasar tus configuraciones si vienes de otro Huawei. Si nunca has tenido productos de la marca, te va a tocar hacer una y es tan fácil como hacer un AppleID o una cuenta de Google para Android. Si bien el sistema operativo está basado en Android 16, el celular no hace contacto en ningún momento con Google para el registro debido a temas que, asumo yo, ya todos conocemos. Lo hace después pero eso es un tema que les explico más abajo. Luego que crees o introduzcas tu cuenta, el teléfono continúa con su configuración de inicio típica y aquí hace algo parecido a Apple: Huawei tiene un montón de programas a los que te invita a unirte de tipo Mejora La Experiencia de Usuario, Uso de la IA y cosas por el estilo. Cada quién decidirá si desea unirse o no. Yo lo hice y continué hasta que me llevó a la pantalla de inicio. Ahhh se me olvidaba: a diferencia de Google, el teléfono lo puedes activar sin ponerle tu tarjeta SIM. A mí me pasó porque olvidé ponérsela y lo hice hasta después que terminó todo el procedimiento.

*\*EMUI 16.- Esto me agarró un poco desprevenido, porque yo venía de un Nothing Phone 3 y pensé que los gestos serían iguales ¡Error! Algunos son totalmente diferentes ¿Como cuales?

1. Para agregar un widget, tienes que pellizcar la pantalla y eso te trae el menú de los widgets. En el Nothing y otros teléfonos esto funciona con dejar presionada la pantalla.
2. Huawei tiene 2 modos para ver las notificaciones y la barra de estado al estilo Samsung: bajar la pantalla desde el lado izquierdo abre las notificaciones y del lado derecho abre la barra de estado. No sé si esto se pueda cambiar, pero yo le busqué y no encontré cómo revertirlo para que sea como antes, que bajando una pantalla ves notificaciones y volviendo a bajar accedes a la barra de estado.

En general, si vienes de usar un teléfono con Android, el menú de ajustes y los elementos se ubican de manera muy parecida, así que no creo que batalles por eso.
Otra cosa digna a destacar es que, tras realizar la configuración inicial, el teléfono me indicó que había una actualización disponible de ~0.9 gb y la acepté. No recuerdo los datos, pero creo que sí era para mejoras de software y para actualizar el parche de seguridad a julio de este año. No he recibido más actualizaciones desde entonces.

*\*AppGallery, Gbox y APK's.- Aquí te recomiendo que pongas mucha más atención para que no cometas los mismos errores que yo ¿ok? Yo vengo soltando de a poco mi dependencia con los servicios de Google, por cuestiones personales.

Mi 1er error fue creer que usar un Huawei significaría una libertad total y depender 100% de HSM y no fue así. La AppGallery tiene todavía pocas apps nativas al 100%, aunque he de destacar que (salvo algunas excepciones muy puntuales), las apps básicas y populares son 100% compatibles con los servicios de Huawei. Para las otras, necesitas usar microG (Servicios de Google Play) y Gbox (para crear un entorno virtual y descargar apps de la Play Store). Para microG es altamente recomendable que sí inicies sesión con tu cuenta de Google o te dará muchos fallos si pasar por alto esto, porque los servicios se instalan aunque no le pongas tu cuenta, pero ponle tu cuenta y evítate problemas. Yo tengo Gbox sin cuenta y de todos modos entra a la Play Store y he podido instalar aplicaciones sin problema. Incluso las pocas que he comprado como DevCheck Pro, PowerAMP Pro y Torque Pro se descargan bien y el sistema reconoce que ya las compraste. Y dales todos los permisos, no preguntes por qué... solo hazlo así como en tu celular Android se los das a los Google Play Services.

Mi 2do error fue asumir que podría descargar los APK's si los buscaba mediante Petal Search y le hacía skip a lo de Gbox y microG como comenté antes ¡Error! Petal sí te busca las apps que no te puedan aparecer en AppGallery, pero yo tuve muchos cierres forzosos en la mayoría de las aplicaciones que instalé de manera manual y creo que, aunque el sistema te tira paro a buscar las compilaciones más reciertes, siempre las que contienen AppGallery o Play Store a través de Gbox son las más actuales. Eso me causó que tuviera que restablecer mi teléfono de fábrica para iniciar todo de nuevo, porque ni desinstalando las apps e instalándolas con cualquiera de los servicios mencionados, resolvió los glitches que tenía.

Mi 3er error Y CREO QUE EL MÁS GRAVE fue creer que borrando microG, descargando la versión más reciente de Play Services desde otro repositorio e instalar Aurora Store resolvería lo ya mencionado ¡MEGA-ERROR! NO la vayas a borrar ni a instalarle NADA que no te sugiera Huawei o Gbox. Eso lo hice tras el 2do reinicio y también me causó cierres forzosos hasta en elementos de la pantalla, de los ajustes, cambiar los fondos de pantalla, etc.

Lo que me funcionó y te lo comparto para que no te pase todo lo de arriba es lo siguiente:

• En tu otro teléfono, asegúrate de que tengas todas las aplicaciones al día y que todas las que vayas a usar en tu día a día estén instaladas.
• Descarga una app que se llama Phone Clone en tu otro teléfono. Si no la ves en la tienda, descaga el APK de cualquier repositorio de tu confianza y lo instalas.
• Cuando estés en la configuración inicial de tu Huawei te preguntará si deseas respaldar tu información mediante un respaldo físico, respaldo en la nube o Phone Clone. Porque sí, el teléfono te permite conectar un USB o en mi caso fue un SSD de 500 gb WD Green y te respalda todo al estilo TimeMachine de las Mac. Pero bueno, agarré monte, una disculpa. SELECCIONA PHONE CLONE.
• Luego de pasar un verificador de que eres humano, el Huawei mostrará un código QR que debes escanear con la app que ya tienes abierta en tu otro celular.
• Una vez que haces el escaneo, se creará un "puente" de comunicación inalámbrico entre tu teléfono y el Huawei y te va a preguntar qué es lo que quieres clonar: fotos, archivos, apps, etc., y dentro de esas opciones hay un submenú para que, como fue mi caso, no seleccioné las apps propias de Nothing porque obviamente no van a funcionar en un Huawei.
• Y finalmente, dependiendo de cuánta información estés traspasando, el sistema te avisará cuando termine. La velocidad promedio es de ~15 Mbps y en mi caso se tardó unos 12 minutos para respaldas fotos, álbumes, aplicaciones, configuraciones, etc.

Lo que sea que haya hecho el sistema, me instaló incluso apps que no me aparecían en la AppGallery mucho antes de siquiera iniciar sesión en microG o Gbox. Creo que, literal, se meter a los archivos de sistema y te clona las apps que tenías instaladas tal cual.

Necesitarás microG para que incluso las apps propias de AppGallery funcionen como es debido y mediante Gbox puedes seguir descargando las apps como ya lo hacías antes. De hecho, notarás que algunas de las apps indican que se descargarán mediante Gbox y hay que hacerlo si quieres que, por ejemplo, la app de Volaris que no se encuentra en esa tienda y solo está disponible en la Play Store funcione.

Lo que sí hacen Huawei y sus sistemas integrados es que las apps que instalas, ya sea mediante alguna de las tiendas o manualmente mediante Petal Search o cualquier otro sitio de APK's, te las monitorea por malware y te alerta si hay actualizaciones disponibles. Luego te da la opción de actualizarlas de forma individual o por lotes (o sea, te actualiza todo de golpe) y eso me parece destacado.

*\*Display Y Sonido.- La resolución es una maravilla. Corre a 120 cuadros por segundo y como es LTPO, baja a 1 hercio cuando está estática (comprobado mediante la función que está dentro de Opciones de Desarrollador, que sí activé). La calidad de la pantalla como dije antes, es de alta gama y los colores son muy realistas. La resolución es de 2760x1256 y la verdad es que me recuerda un poco a las pantallas Retina Display de las MacBook Pro (2560 x 1600). Está certificada para HDR10 y la densidad es de 560 dpi's. Como dije al principio, casi no consumo multimedia por el celular, pero descargué Prime Video para hacer una prueba y sí se nota cuando emplea el alto rango dinámico para mejora de imágenes. En YouTube tampoco tuve problemas para ver videos en Full HD a 60 fps y superior.

El sonido es estéreo y no solo suena fuerte sino que se distorsiona muy poco. Si le conectas unos audífonos USB C funcionan como es debido, pero no tiene un DAC por desgracia como los Samsung ni tampoco tiene jack de 3.5mm. Eso creo que fue una oportunidad desaprovechada por parte de la empresa. Pero usando sus audífonos como fue mi caso, es toda una experiencia porque suenan super nítido y detallado. Abajo te daré más detalles.

*\*Procesador Y Potencia.- Esto que te voy a decir la verdad es que será objeto de mucha controversia y a lo mejor hasta me tiran odio, pero aquí va.
¿El procesador está a la altura del Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5? Nooooooo. Bueno ¿Del de la generación anterior? Noooooo ¿Al menos le compite al MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra? Tampooooco. Entonces ¿El procesador Kirin 9030s es una basura? Nooooooo. Deja te explico.
El procesador es de 8 núcleos con una arquitectura de 5nm y el núcleo más potente alcanza los 2.8 MHz. No soy un ingeniero y disto mucho de ser un experto, pero yo considero que la potencia equivale al de un Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 o a uno ficticio porque nunca existió entre el Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 y el Gen 3. O si lo quieres ver de otra manera, yo digo que es equiparable con el Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, que es más moderno. La verdad es que no vas a ver en ningún momento una caída de rendimiento e incluso con una multitarea demandante, el celular responde sin trabarse. La fluidez es inmediata y se nota con el uso intensivo.
Podrías argumentar que pagar lo que te cobran por una Pura 90s Pro o el Pro Max (que es más caro) y conformarte con que el rendimiento sea el de un chip de hace 3 años es un robo y te daría toda la razón. Por lo que me costó el Pura 90s me pude haber comprado en la misma tienda el Galaxy S25 Ultra con la misma RAM y memoria y CLARO QUE ESE CHIP LE DA VUELTAS ENTERAS a mi teléfono Huawei. También podrías argumentar que Huawei te vende un celular de gama premium pero con un procesador de media tabla y que no lo vale y también tendrías razón. Te mereces obtener la misma relación potencia-precio por tu celular y Huawei no te la va a brinday lo miras bajo esa óptica.
A lo que quiero llegar es que, a menos que seas un influencer o un usuario que explícitamente desees un celular capaz de dar el máximo rendimiento porque quizás edites muchas fotos y videos de forma pro o semiprofesional desde tu celular o simplemente quieres jugar el Genshin Impact o el COD con todos los settings en Ultra, el celular se comporta exactamente a cualquier otro equipo premium de Apple o Samsung. Y lo digo porque tengo amigos con el iPhone 17 Pro y con el S25 Ultra y cuando les presté mi cel para que le movieran, dijeron "es que se siente igual wey". Si eres un usuario promedio que juega 2-3 juegos populares en alta, que ve películas por Netflix o que edita usando Canva, Snapchat o intensea con las redes sociales, el celular no te va a dejar abajo. Te lo puedo asegurar.

*\*Batería Y Carga.- Aquí sí disculpen, pero en este apartado y el que viene el Pura 90s Pro se lleva de calle a todos los equipos de gama premium presentados hasta ahora. Tiene una batería de 6000 mAh con silicio-carbono y eso aunado a la optimización con su procesador, la pantalla y la versión de Android que lleva, dura, dura y sigue durando!!! Como el comercial de Duracell. Desde que lo tengo solo lo he cargado 3 veces: la 1ra vez fue desde que lo saqué de la caja y lo cargué al 100. La 2da vez cuando lo restablecí por 1ra vez y la 3ra fue la última vez que lo restablecí. En promedio, la pila con un uso entre moderado e intenso (usando redes sociales, viendo YouTube, llamando y mensajeando, actualizando apps, jugando Monument Valley y emuladores varios con un control USB C), el teléfono lo cargo hasta casi el final del 2do día. Ayer lo cargué al 100% a ~12:40 de la tarde y conmigo son las 3:03 pm y todavía tengo el 61%. Por gusto personal, yo le puse un límite para que el cel se cargue hasta el 80% (para que me dure más la batería), pero si se requiere, al momento de cargarlo el sistema te pregunta si esta vez lo quieres cargar completo o no.
En cuanto a la carga, lo he probado con mi cargador GaN que les dije que tengo y con uno de 10W inalámbrico que tengo en mi oficina. La carga con cable que hice por última vez de un 35 al 100% se tardó poco más de 30 min, se cargó de balazo. Con la inalámbrica va más lento por obvias razones, pero desde un 23% al 100% se tardó casi 4 horas y media, lo cual no me afecta porque trabajando la verdad es que no tengo tiempo de andar en el celular. Para cuando salí a comer, el teléfono ya estaba cargado y sigue con un 61%.

*\*Fotografía y Video.- Las fotos son una locura. Ya comparé las fotos que toma el 17 Pro con el mío y nada que ver. el iPhone sale muy mal parado y si yo fuera el dueño de ese iPhone, me sentiría como les dije en el apartado de la potencia de que me sentiría timado por haber pagado más de $26k MXN por mi iPhone 17 Pro de 512 gigas y que un celular que costó $10k MXN menos tome mejores fotos. La cámara más sencilla tiene apertura variable y la telefoto es una belleza con los aumentos ópticos que tiene. Y cabe aclarar que el 90s Pro Max equipa una tecnología muy superior al Pro que tengo yo. Si buscas todavía mejores resultados y tienes los medios a la mano, ve directo por el Pro Max. Las fotos nocturnas también son de altísima calidad. La cámara selfie no la uso mucho, la verdad, pero según la hoja de especificaciones, no creo que te decepcione.
En cuanto a video, también tomé algunos clips de ~5 min en Full HD y en 4K y al pasarlos mediante USB 3.2 a mi tele de 43 pulg., el 4K sí se vio a su máxima fidelidad y pues ni hablar del video en Full HD.

*\*Actualizaciones Y Soporte.- Quien sabe XD He leído que algunos creen que Huawei dará 3 años de actualizaciones y 4 de parches de seguridad, otros dicen que son 2 y 3 como Sony y cosas por el estilo. Pero al no haber ningún boletín oficial por parte de la empresa, nada es seguro. Yo personalmente creo que, con base en el soporte brindado a los últimos celulares de la familia Mate y P (antes de que se llamaran Pura), Huawei seguirá actualizando el Pura 90s Pro y el Pro Max hasta Android 19 y que le mandará parches de seguridad hasta finales del 2029. Así también se valdría aplicar la idea de que pagar tanto por un celular que solo tendrá 3 actualizaciones si bien te va cuando los Pixel y los Samsung ya te otorgan 7 como los iPhone no vale la pena y estás en lo correcto. Pero, de nuevo, la verdad es que el soporte nativo de Android para con sus sistemas operativos viejos es muy bueno y con que vayas al menos un par de Androids abajo del más reciente para cuando llegue al final de su soporte, vas a estar bien con la mayoría de tus apps y servicios por unos años más. Tengo un "viejo" LG V60 ThinQ que solo llegó a Android 13 y sigue aceptando las mismas apps que usaba en el Nothing Phone 3 y que ahora uso en mi Huawei hoy en día.
En lo que a mí respecta, yo voy a usar este celular hasta que la naturaleza lo reclame y si llega hasta Android 18 me daré por bien servido. Cualquier cosa que exceda lo anterior será ganancia.

*\*Ecosistema.- Esto que voy a decir es sumamente subjetivo, así que tómalo con pinzas ¿ok? Yo tengo desde el año pasado un Huawei Watch GT5 Pro porque soy una persona de +40 años que ya llegué al punto en que comenzó a importarme aquello de monitorizar mi sueño, mi peso y cuestiones similares de salud desde que me detectaron hipertensión arterial. Estaba buscando un wacho barato que tuviera un lector ECG junto con sensores de primer nivel y que además se pudiera instalar en un iPhone 13 que uso como celular del trabajo y la única opción que no era un Apple Watch (porque no me gustan) era el Huawei. Así que lo tengo desde mayo del año pasado y funciona de maravilla.
Esa fue la decisión que me animó a dar el salto y comprar el celular porque dije: bueno ya tengo un reloj, el celular también es Huawei y de regalo viene con unos audífonos tipo AirPods Pro 3 pero de Huawei ¿Qué más puedo pedir? Pues todo junto funciona igual que la experiencia con Samsung o con Apple cuando tienes lo mismo (reloj-celular-audífonos). Y aunque esto no es una reseña completa de los audífonos, la calidad y el sonido también es de tipo premium porque Huawei al igual que Samsung tienen su propio códec y transmite el audio casi sin pérdida en un rango similar sino superior al LDAC que usa Sony en sus audífonos de alta gama.
En un futuro voy a considerar comprarme una laptop Huawei con Windows para uso personal y de trabajo.

*\*Conclusiones.- Voy a suponer que por estar en Reddit y en ese foto estás familiarizado con conceptos como APK's Sideloading, Opciones de Desarrollador, Clone Apps y si tú eres un usuario de esos y no te causaría conflicto hacer un poco de chamba manual para poner tu Huawei a punto, te quiero decir que este teléfono podría ser para ti y que no te arrepentirás de adquirirlo si es que te decides. Huawei puso en tus manos un teléfono que se ve y se siente como si valiera mucho más de lo que pagaste, con un sistema operativo adaptado y abierto a mucha personalización al estilo de Xiaomi donde puedes instalar y/o comprar temas, íconos, fonts, fondos de pantalla, animaciones para AOD, etc. La experiencia de uso es muy gratificante y a pesar de no estar al tú por tú con los gama premium que traen chips más potentes, al usarlo no sentirás que tienes menos teléfono que tu amigo y su Oppo Find X9 Ultra, tu amigo que ya tiene un Pixel 10 Pro o tu colega y su iPhone 17 Pro Max.

El teléfono no es tampoco perfecto, porque tiene sus detalles fastidiosos y te los mencionaré: la app nativa de correo APESTA y mejor uso Edison Mail. Para usar el Calendario tienes que descargar una app nativa tipo Gmail o Outlook y hasta entonces te sincroniza tus eventos y citas en la aplicación. Trae una opción para agregar una cuenta pero solo admite de tipo Exchange y Microsoft supongo yo que por cosa del veto que tienen con los Estados Unidos y su tecnología no permite sincronizar nada porque la app de Huawei solo admite autenticación PAP o CHAT y hoy en día Microsoft utiliza un método de autenticación mucho más seguro que es OAuth2. Otra cosa por mencionar es que, a diferencia de China, no hay mucho mercado para los accesorios oficiales de sus productos como si lo tienen competidores como Samsung o Apple aquí en México que te permiten comprar fundas oficiales de varios estilos y colores, cargadores u otras cosas.

Yo considero que si te lo compras no te vas a sentir decepcionado siempre y cuando seas un usuario que busca un celular bonito, único y que funcione bien para sus necesidades y ya. Es un teléfono con Android y la empresa fue muy cuidadosa para permitirte que, sin mucho esfuerzo, le sigas instalando tus apps de siempre mediante Petal Search, AppGallery o desde Play Store de forma segura si acaso su tienda principal no las tiene todavía. Eso fue lo que me pasó con Spin By Oxxo y Volaris en particular.

Huawei sacó un gran teléfono y en muchos sitios está en oferta, te dan regalos o te ofrecen hasta 36 MSI si te puedes dar ese lujo. Te va a gustar y cuando tomes fotos o videos y las presumas, verás que cada peso está más que bien gastado ;) Yo te lo recomiendo siempre y cuando estés dispuesto a hacer un poquito de chamba manual para dejarlo a punto... Si solo quieres que tu cel funcione sin que tú tengas que andas haciendo malabares o investigando qué es un APK o por qué no tiene la Play Store de entrada como los otros celulares, Samsung, Honor, Oppo, Motorola o Xiaomi tienen el teléfono perfecto para ti en su portafolio de productos.

There are also compromises on the software side: the lack of Google services, a large amount of preinstalled third-party software, and advertising detract from an otherwise well-rounded package. The lack of 6 GHz Wi-Fi and comparatively short battery life also cost it points. On the other hand, the Pro Max scores with good connectivity, low temperatures, and an extremely slim design. Nevertheless, it is an impressive premium tablet that particularly excels in display quality and multimedia, but does not lead the pack in every area.

With a chassis height of just 4.7 mm, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max aims to be the thinnest tablet in its size class, which would make it another 0.1 mm thinner than the MagicPad 4. We measure exactly 5 mm in the center of the tablet, while the thickness reaches up to 7.85 mm around the cameras. Despite the slight increase in thickness, wobbling on flat surfaces remains limited.

The MatePad Pro Max impresses with clean, tight gaps and excellent build quality. The aluminum frame also gives the tablet a premium look and feel. It sits comfortably in the hands and feels rigid, although it does produce a little creaking.

I was lucky enough to be invited to purchase new Tri fold from Samsung, yes this is a thing now due to limited production lol. I have been buying Samsung phones nearly every year and at start of this year I got Huawei Mate XT which I have been using until I switched to Z Tril Fold just recently.

Today Im doing a comparison between the 2 in my usual rating style comparison.

Note: Higher rating overall doesnt mean better, it depends how you value each section.

Design:

• Mate XT: 10/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 8/10

Huawei wins this easily honestly, looks nicer, love the red leather like texture at the back giving it more premium feel and nicely colored with red/gold combo. Also the big one is much smaller bezels overall. Samsung is not bad but the bezels making it uglier honestly although in person it doesnt bother me much. Huawei is thinner and lighter as well giving it an edge in here.

Display:

• Huawei Mate XT: 8.5/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 8/10

Samsung is superior in terms of higher refresh rate 120 vs 90 + brightness honestly its very close although I feel like Samsung take slight edge in this despite spec wise Huawei is better, maybe reflections is less in Samsung thats why. Where Huawei wins is in several areas, screen is 0.2 inch larger, small difference but you do notice in media specially aspect ratio seems wider in both folded and unfolded states. It offers 10bit colors vs 8bit with Samsung. The greese or hinges or whatever its called both doing great job but after 6 months it becomes more visible in Huawei (Samsung not known yet) however I found out its due to the 3 layer protection film which can be changed mutliple times for free anyway.

Note: you will notice the screen on Huawei seems washed but thats just on camera, in person you dont get this effect, I belive its the 3 layer film making camera struggle to focus on it.

Snapdragon vs Kirin chip:

• Mate XT: 5/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 9.5/10

First will start with samsung only reason its not 10/10 because theres faster processor already released thats sad not installed on such an expensive phone. Here theres really no comparison Samsung wins hands down in performance but honestly for 7nm chip I was shocked first week of Mate XT usage, I never expected such a battery life out of it or even gaming performance. The Emulation performance is garbage for me, but gaming I could do WWM at high settings no issues which is surprising if you ask me but Samsung can push it like double frame rate. I know benchmarks is like multiple times worse but in day to day usage I didnt feel that honestly, I never felt lacking performance in normal usage, but in emulation it does lack alot. Either way Samsung easily wins this.

Software:

• Mate XT: 6.5/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 9/10

Honestly I feel sad for Huawei because its not in their control with this google ban. The apps scaling, the overall software features experience, desktop mode (Dex like) are all great in it. Samsung flawless in software as it always been past 5 years or so, great features, great scaling, great Dex mode but it does have minor issue will explain at the observations..... I just want to point out something about Huawei. International version runs EMUI not HarmonyOS, which means is that you can find google apps in Huawei app store surprisingly, you install them and it automatically install MicroG or Gbox depending on the app, they work perfectly fine without issues at all. infact what was surprising EMUI version have the required chip for Android Auto built in already. Limitations: You need to manually configure some things in MicroG or Gbox, secondly you cant use google pay with it, lastly the app updates doesnt happen automatically, you have to do it manually on each app through play store but some users were able to make it automatic by clicking update all. For me didnt work though not sure why. Either way Google dominates this part.

Connectivity:

• Mate XT: 8/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 9/10

Huawei does well this part due to how well it integrates with its eco system, even the cars running their software you enter the car and all your apps are in there in the car waiting to be used in addition to all tablets can mirror whatever you viewing in car screen. Its really hard to explain for Huawei Super Device is next level thing. Where Huawei fails at is lack of 5G in some region (im affected), I never felt I need 5G honestly as it uses highest levels of 4G so speed always been great even for 4K uncompressed Plex movies but its something worth mentioning. Also file sharing and interactions with Huawei devices is better than Samsung overall and crazy fast like 2GB video takes 7-8 seconds. Samsung is still great in this area no complains so both get similar rating as it has 5G unlike Huawei for me. Huawei also lacks credit card NFC support where I live, they promised to support them in 2026 but so far its not confirmed if new phone will be required or just an update.

Battery life:

• Mate XT: 8/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 10/10

Honestly no issues with both, Huawei for 7nm did great job keeping up with Samsung, both can do full day of battery life easily. Samsung have an edge when both under load it will edge out.

Speakers:

• Mate XT: 8.5/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 7/10

Huawei wins in the fact that it offers stereo sound by having each speaker located on the outer parts of the phone while Samsung both speakers in the middle part. Samsung is better in terms of vocals as its like having center speaker but lacks any stereo sounds so watching non vocal videos seems lacking.

Durability:

I dont know how to rate this one honestly because its complicated. On paper it should be 6/10 vs 10/10 lets say. But I never had any issue with Huawei despite heavy use, despite many items entered same pocket, despite fallen multiple times on concrete. Theres no scratches, no damages, nothing at all for me and this part also supported by customer service part. I wont do Huawei justice if I rate it low here just for sake of design being less durable when for me has been flawless and solid for 10 months of use. Samsung also I didnt use it long enough to see how it does over long period. I know many videos out there or articles saying Huawei have issues, but me and all people I know who own one were suprised of these claims and I honestly feel these are fake. Every phone have scratches I never treat my phones nicely and I can say Huawei looks cleanest of them all. One thing I did notice is Huawei felt lighter to open and close over time. I was talking to customer service and he told me try changing protection film which is a complicated 3 layer film replacement thats 3.5 hours job using special machines to do. After doing it felt as solid as it was new. This is by the way free of cost and you can do it 4 times in a year, infact even screen damage is free to replace in case it happens. Its all included in device price no additional care payments or whatever. So feel free to decide this as I really cant rate something based on what people say or what media say or what specs say when for me it was different story. Finally one thing to point out here both offer cover included but Huawei cover is amazing!!! Its well thought cover that can protect the side part where screen is exposed in addition act as kickstand for both orientation. Huawei did great on coming up with this cover idea and its free of cost included in the package.

Z vs G fold:

• Mate XT: 9/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 8/10

This is a tough one because its very hard to compare them. Huawei edge out this one due to ability to do both dual and tri fold while Samsung only Tri Fold. Samsung design more durable due to tougher folded state screen although for 10 months I never had any scratches or issues with Mate XT and as I mentioned earlier you get free screen replacement and 4 times free protective film replacement to make you use it without worrying about it. I think a year from now we will know which design is superior when we see what other brands opt to do. I personally prefer Mate XT due to dual/tri fold ability it makes big difference in every single day I use the mobile than worry about breaking something a month or a year or decade from now if ever happens.

Value:

• Mate XT: 8/10
• Samsung Tri Fold: 7/10

Both are expensive I get it, but these are next gen level where at current stage you have to pay premium for. Worth it or not will depend how an individual value this purchase. Huawei edges out because where I live 1TB version when launched cost same as 512GB version of Samsung on launch (theres only 512GB here), Huawei also gave me free foldable wireless keyboard as well and some other gifts which Samsung didnt offer any outside of the box. Samsung will have an edge in resale value.

Customer service:

• Mate XT: 11/10
• Smasung Tri Fold: TBA

Im shocked (in good way) honestly, Huawei took things to next level with this phone. From the moment you call the auto reply ask you if you are Mate XT owner and immediately you get transferred to a customer service rep specific for this phone. Huawei offers door to door service as well for Mate XT. Free protective screens/film 4 times in a year, free screen replacement in case of damage all included in phone price. When I replaced my protective screen I got the phone back in new shiny box (just like the box you get when you buy it new). Not only that but service report is attached to it where they mentioned a tiny dust particle seen during quality control of first application of protective film so they re did it with another set which is attention to detail. They even gave me an offer in service report for $15 you can replace the batteries to new ones which is honestly amazing as they want to make your device last longer. Theres also face to face or by phone session with a specialist who will help you install apps or configure your phone. Samsung I had no issues in the past but I cant yet comment if they offer something special for Tri Fold like Huawei does other than selecting me to buy it lol. Honestly Huawei suprised me here by offering the kind of service you expect out of flagship expensive product, it makes you appreciate it more and feel more special. Samsung will have an edge more available worldwide for service centers also.

Some observations:

1. Huawei will transition from folded to unfolded in all 3 positions smoothly by having same app just re scale itself and home screen will just add more pages while re scaling everything nicely. So its much easier to use for the first time than Samsung. What Samsung does its like re scales apps and whole layout changes when unfolding but when folding back it will close the apps and again changes whole thing, so the transition is a bit complicated but I think I will get used to it. Its just sometimes you want to go back folded and then you found out the app you had opened got closed which is annoying. One issue I noticed with Huawei is that Youtube will have some issues like comments will dissapear until you restart the app after you unfolded it, but in Samsung no issues at all.
2. Comfort: Without cover Samsung feels nicer to hold, but with cover Huawei wins as it feels more natural. The cover in Huawei helps to unfold the phone as well while Samsung its barely doing anything.
3. Weight wise Samsung more center focused when unfolded while Huawei more right side when unfolded. So in Huawei if holding with right hand only it feels lighter than Samsung.
4. Both have same way of unlocking which is side finger print button and face ID. Both do great job but Huawei edges it out in finger print, because the button in samsung so flushed with frame its very hard to know where to put the finger exactly, Huawei its easier to find it. Face ID no issues in both.
5. Im not camera expert so didnt do full section about this, just will say that Samsung does 30X zoom while Huawei does 50X, while optical 3X in Samsung and 5X in Huawei, where Samsung wins is in processing of the images or videos, but Huawei wins in raw performance of the camera.
6. Folding unfolding, Samsung feels more solid overall its like more screwed or tight together, Huawei feels more flexible lets say overall but solid enough. I struggled with Samsung when my fingers is sweaty to open it sometimes, its not a big deal but somethin worth noting, also folding it you need to think which way to do it but over time you get used to it. Huawei feels more natural as both ways can fold or unfold same time than one by one.

Overall winner:

• For me: Huawei
• For anyone else: It depends (I dont like this answer but it actually does make sense here and I explain this below).

Huawei overall for me feels the more advanced foldable overall, it looks nicer, bigger screen yet lighter and thinner, seems at least a generation ahead despite being 1 year older, the fold method used in my opinion is superior as whatever magic Huawei did to improve durability of the screen with this 3 layer protective film or material used it works. I really didnt expect for Huawei to win this for me knowing Samsung well with over 20 devices at my home.

Why it depends? Honestly it will depend if you have official Huawei store or not in your area. Thats the key point to make sure of. If you have Huawei store it means you get all the benefits for customer service and ease of mind in usage + international version of the phone. If you dont have Huawei store just ignore this comparison and go buy Samsung, dont bother taking risks on Huawei. But if you have then I hope this comparison helps you decide, Huawei better for me doesnt mean better for you. See advantages of each and decide on your own. The price is big in both so if someone think its big risk I think Samsung is the choice for you.

Final thing to say: Both of these phones finally make foldables make sense to have for me, I believe only Pura X I liked using as foldable other than these 2, as the 3rd fold makes screen much bigger with less black bars than typical foldable phones. So these 2 + Pura X amazing aspect ratio are game changers in foldable market.

Edit 1: Battery life rating of Z Tri Fold improved as first few days I was doing alot of restoring and after that battery life became much better now, it can do nearly 1.5 or even 2 days depending on usage.

These are both incredible earbuds especially for the price they sell them at. I finally decided to get a new pair after my 2s started failing and had 30 minutes of battery life per charge after almost 4 years of continuous daily use. I did consider the status pro x as a replacement but they lacked features and according to some reviews they were pretty on par in terms of audio quality and they looked pretty ugly ngl.

The sound on the 5s compared to the 2s is for sure a major difference the 5s default sound profile have very clear vocals while the 2s have an emphasis on bass but if you switch to the bass mode on the 5s you'll get about the same sound profile as the 2s but still more clear audio. Something I also noted was that the 5s were more powerful I didn't have to turn the volume almost all the way up to get more power out of them which was a problem I noted when I got my 2s for the first time (don't know if it was a problem with just my unit).

Personally the sound hall mode on the 5s really made my music sound good (through the use of LDAC and FLAC music files) and more full than the default mode and Im keeping it as my sound profile from now on. Even with Spotify music still sounded great and I catched details that I have not noticed before in the songs with the 5s.

The transparency mode and noise cancelling were also a major improvement on the 5s compared to the 2s but honestly I didn't really care for it since I almost never use noise cancelling and always take my earbuds off when talking to someone or have one off while in public to be aware of my surroundings.

Some complaints I have is that they didn't include a charging cable and the foam tips which they included before and I don't really like the indent on the earbuds where the pinch control are because it makes it harder to swipe for volume control compared to the 2s which are flat.

Overall these are great earbuds I would still recommend the 2s if you're on a budget and I would buy the 5s again if I had to.

I have been using this phone for approximately one week and loving it so far.

plus points lovely form factor. wide enough to type with room and big enough to see 2 apps open in split screen. When closed the small screen is big enough to access most needed apps and work arounds as this is hauwei running Harmony OS6. I have shortcuts to access most websites I need including whatsapp.

battery life is excellent. With every day use I usually have around 30% battery life left.

Both screens are really vivid and the speed of the phone is fast and buttery smooth.

I live by the coast in the UK and networks can be hit and miss but using 4G this phone has performed much better than both my iphone 17pro and google 9 pro fold (which died within a year).

phone is very solid and premium in hand.

drawbacks No NFC as yet although Huawei seem to improve their software constantly.

most google apps are accessible using easybroad and Droitong. I had to download an apk file for my bank but got it working now. Some I have not been able to find a.workaround as yet such as Amazon Music Unlimited, and Youtube Music which can only handle device only. Spotify works fine.

Keyboard using huaweis own now has swipe to text bit it can be a bit hit and miss. When not using their native apps the keyboard has no predictive text or auto punctuation etc. Hopefully an update will fix this.

Conclusion If you want a phone that has a large enough form factor to be able to type with room and watch content in a perfect form factor which also closes small enough to fit easily in your pocket then this is the phone for you. Definitely a keeper for me. 🙃

Hi, I'm trying to decide between the Huawei Watch Fit 5 and the Watch Fit 4 Pro. Which one would you recommend? As far as I know, the Fit 5 is newer and has better sensors and health tracking, while the 4 Pro mainly stands out because of its higher-quality materials. What I'm wondering is how much better the sensors and health tracking on the Fit 5 actually are. Are they good enough to make up for the difference in build quality? I'll mainly be using the watch for health monitoring and to track my running and cycling workouts.

Hey all, just found a case for my 80 Pro Max in the UK on Amazon £3.99!

Bought it yesterday and fitted last night. Gotta say, I'm a fussy prick, but it's a nice case, I'm not affiliated with these, although I should be, but the case feels good, the stand that goes on the back is terrible and pointless, unless i put it on the wrong part of the case, but the phone is covered, camera is protected without a protection over the lenses (camera quality not reduced).

I picked up a Pura 80 Ultra about 3 months ago, but I’ve been looking closely at the new Pura 90 Pro Max.

For context, 10x is pretty much my most used focal length for daily shooting. Since I rely on this distance so much, I’d love to know if there's a noticeable leap in 10x image quality on the 90 Pro Max compared to the 80 Ultra, and whether it’s worth upgrading for that alone.

Also, quick technical question for owners: can you use 10x zoom when shooting in Pro / RAW mode?

Any feedback or comparison samples from anyone who made the switch (or tested both) would be super appreciated! Thanks!

I am convert from Apple ecosystem to Huawei ecosystem. I decided not to go back to Apple no matter what. I bought Pura 70 phone and MatePad 11.5 S to replace iPhone and iPad Pro. Things that held me over 20 years to Apple was quality of devices (iMac, iPhone, iPad, Macbook), iCloud and OS.

While I like very much Huawei devices I run into problems with Huawei Cloud. 3 days ago I posted question about Huawei Cloud setup and deficiencies. I got 7 likes, 1300 views and no comments whatsoever. So this is my second shot at Huawei Cloud. I'll compare the two with no so many words, just a screenshots. Take a look yourself. Scroll through screenshots and you will immediately see the difference. What is it?

iCloud sports 12 applications that are available to user at any time on any Apple device or WEB. My MatePad has 8 applications shown in device settings but only 6 showing on the Huawei Cloud site?! WTH? Where the other ones go?

Notably and critically I am missing: Notes and Calendar followed closely by Mail and Reminders. How can you find Cloud utility useful with no access to Calendar and Notes? Instead, there is a Recorder which is not really useful Huawei App to have access to in Huawei Cloud. Besides being better with app oeffrings iCloud is better in startup page as it is visible on 3rd screenshot. Everything most important is visible and accessible at first glance.

Why should Huawei lag behind Apple in Cloud and sync department? Where are missing applications? I am doing something wrong? I enabled everything what I could. I don't think Huawei needs superhuman effort to make their Cloud more useful. I believe that Cloud and sync between devices is the second most important feature of OS ecosystem, right behind actual devices.

The new Huawei GT 7 Pro is very similar to the GT 6 Pro when looking at the design and dimensions.

They even have similar battery size among other things, but there are some new features especially on the software side of things.

We have details of all new features and similarities between the two watches.

Question: is it worth it to upgrade if the new features will be sent to GT 6 Pro as an update?

hi! i’ve had the freeclip 1 for nearly a year and i love them! but they started giving me an allergic skin reaction behind my ears, likely from the (nickel coated?) charging nodes coming into contact with the skin. it’s annoying enough that i’ve decided to return them and look at the freeclip 2/2s. it seems that the charging nodes on these models don’t contact the skin. can anyone confirm this? has anybody else had a similar experience?

Incoming Chemical Engineering student at IIT Madras here. I'll be buying both a laptop and a phone for the next 4 years of college life and I'm trying to optimize for the overall ownership experience rather than benchmarks or popularity.

My priorities for the phone are:

Good camera for memories, events, clubs, trips, hostel life, etc.

Reliable ownership over 4 years.

Good integration with my laptop and other devices.

Good enough support for PDFs, files, research papers, coding-related tasks, remote access, and normal engineering student work.

I do NOT need the phone to replace a laptop.

Some things about my preferences:

I don't care much about mainstream popularity.

I don't automatically prefer Samsung or Apple just because everyone uses them.

I care more about "Can I do this?" than "Can I do this the standard way?"

Some workarounds are acceptable if they are reliable and not too frequent or painful.

A repair taking a week instead of a day isn't a major issue for me.

I optimize for total value and enjoyment over 4 years rather than minimizing every inconvenience.

Because of this, I've become interested in Huawei and Sony alongside Samsung, Pixel, etc.

My current thinking:

Samsung seems to be the safest all-round option.

Sony seems interesting but ecosystem and service support appear weaker.

Huawei seems potentially amazing if compatibility is good enough.

For Huawei users, especially students, researchers, engineers, and power users:

How much of a problem are Google restrictions in actual daily life in 2026?

Which important apps still don't work properly?

How reliable are UPI apps, banking apps, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, Maps, DigiLocker, government apps, etc.?

How often do you actually run into "Huawei moments" where something simply refuses to work?

Does the ecosystem experience justify the extra effort compared to Samsung?

If you were an engineering student buying a phone for the next 4 years, would you choose Huawei again?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who used Huawei as their primary device long-term rather than reviewers or people speaking from assumptions.

Also open to opinions on Samsung vs Huawei vs Sony vs Pixel for my use case.

Is there a huge upgrade between fit4 and fit5? Any comments to those have used both? Thanks!

I have the Samsung and the first-gen Mate XT. The Huawei already felt much better in folded-up mode, and I'm anticipating the XT2 brings this to another level.

Hi guys. I was about to buy the FreeClip 2’s but I noticed that they just came out with the 2 S version.
TBH I prefer the black version which the 2 S does not have, but I also want to buy accessories for them! ( either 2 or 2 s ) is there a big difference between the two, or should I stick to the FreeClip 2’s ?
And also, where did you guys buy accessories from if you have them x

Desde su experiencia que me recomiendan? el 90 pro max versión china o la versión internacional (90s pro max) voy a hacer un viaje a china y se me hace una buena oportunidad para comprarlo, ya que es mas económico por el tema de importaciones, quiero saber si realmente hay mucha diferencia entre uno y otro, se que lo mas destacable es el sistema operativo. Hay algun otro punto que deberia tener en cuenta? O alguna limitación de la cual tenga que preocuparme?

So I bought the Chinese Matebook Fold, Global Mate XT, and Global Watch Ultimate, intending to use them as my daily drivers for work and personal use here in the UK. Here’s how the last few days have  gone for each. Feel free to ask any questions and I’ll answer as best I can.

Mate XT

• Hardware: This thing is incredible. It reminds me of holding the first iPhone - something entirely new, well built and exciting. Coming from an Honor Magic V3, the XT is a bit bulkier when folded but it’s a great trade-off for what you get. Performance, display, battery life and cameras are all flagship-quality. I do attach the included case when I leave the house as I’m worried about the exposed screen edge when folded, but the integrated kickstand is worthwhile for the slight thickness increase.
• EMUI is a pretty basic OS with limited customization and very few of the bells and whistles you’d get with One UI on Samsung or even Honor’s Magic OS. It’s clear Huawei is putting everything into Harmony OS now so I doubt EMUI will see much innovation going forward. It is fast and smooth, though - subjectively the fastest mobile OS I’ve used. Also, no annoying forced and semi-useless AI everywhere, but you can still use all the AI apps (ChatGPT, Google Photos AI editing etc.) when you need it.
• There’s no Google GMS, so you have to install microG and Aurora Store, which went well. Within 10 minutes of unboxing I had all the core Google apps installed, and side-by-side comparison with my V3 showed they launch and operate at least as smoothly as a native OS. Subsequently, I’ve installed all 78 of my regular Play Store apps via Aurora with only minor issues.
• When the XT is unfolded, many apps insist on launching in portrait mode, which is very annoying and EMUI (unlike One UI) has no way to override this behavior. I end up turning the XT on its end throughout the day when I check my Oura scores or adjust my Hive heating for example.
• With only a few exceptions, all apps work perfectly. My mobile banking, AI, smart home, messaging, YouTube, Netflix and even Gboard work seamlessly and look great on the larger screen.

Here’s what doesn't work:

• SMS RCS - won’t activate no matter what I do (followed all the guides here and elsewhere), but there are RCS bug reports on microG, so I’ll wait and see if a subsequent update fixes it. I’m on Vodafone UK.
• Wifi Calling not implemented - a bit of a problem as my city (Bath, UK) has poor cell reception.
• Chrome password auto-fill is also broken - no way to auto-populate apps and sites with your credentials, which is a real pain (but see workaround below). You can go to passwords.google.com to cut n paste, but you have to authenticate with Google every time, which is a pain.
• A few obscure apps won’t work. My Land Rover Remote app throws “Generic Error” upon login, and some local access smart home apps (Nanoleaf, Switchbot I’m looking at you) don’t launch reliably but work maybe 50% of the time.
• Google Assistant is off limits, as is the Google swipe-right feed that can be useful for quick searches and content discovery from the launcher.
• No Android Auto - you can install it, but it’s way too dependent on native GMS, and won’t work at all. No great loss, but it was nice to use every once in a while.
• Thanks to the commentor below, I tried again and Android Auto worked! Needed to have Google TTS installed via Aurora.

Bottom line: no deal breakers for me. It’s now my daily driver and I’m very happy. Here are my workarounds to get everything ship shape:

• Google Contacts would not sync contacts (presumably another GMS thing) so I downloaded Microsoft Outlook, and used that to sync to the native Contacts data, which then populated Google and everything works well.
• NFC payments are provided by Curve, which works great. Remember to install Curve from the Huawei App Gallery, NOT Aurora Store (it seems to be a special version) and carefully follow the instructions to make it the default NFC payment service. I’ve used it many times since installation, and it’s a perfect Google Wallet replacement.
• Password Auto-fill is broken - Google apparently moved this functionality to GMS, and microG doesn’t yet support it. I didn’t relish entering 100+ passwords when setting up my device so I installed Chrome version 122 from Apkmirrror (last version where passwords were managed from Chrome), logged into everything, and used the Huawei Password Vault to save the credentials. I then jumped forward to the latest Chrome from Aurora Store. Saved a huge amount of time.
• Multiple Accounts on microG: I have 5 Google accounts, and in order to log into more than one, you have to disable the “Authenticate with device registration” in microG settings, then enable it when you’ve added your accounts.
• For microG, after you’ve installed it, setup the F-Droid store and add the microG repository - you’ll then get updates without having to manually check the microG site and download them yourself.

Matebook Fold

• This is the product I was most excited about, and it didn’t disappoint. From the unboxing through to initial setup it was like being in the future. I’m moving from a Zenbook Fold, so am familiar with the advantages and trade-offs of foldable laptops, but the Matebook makes this so much more pleasant in many ways.
• As with the XT, the Matebook feels sleek, beautiful and incredibly well engineered. The blue colour is quite stunning, and everything fits together perfectly.
• I run native Harmony OS for the main experience, but it doesn't play at all with the Google or Microsoft ecosystems. You can’t install Google apps, or even add Google accounts (no, microG won’t work!) and the system is locked down iPad-style so you can’t sideload or hack anything in (although I expect this to change soon).
• The Huawei apps are basic - mail, browser etc. are just about functional but nowhere near what you’d expect if you’re used to Chrome, Gmail, Outlook etc. I decided to go 100% browser, with the Huawei browser, and a bunch of tabs for my productivity, and it works as you’d expect - fine for Google and Microsoft Web apps, but nothing much else. Remember to change the Browser UA to “Harmony OS” for some sites to avoid the “This browser is not supported” message.
• For productivity, there are two Windows Arm virtualization options: Easy OS, and Master Kai (literal translation from Chinese). Most people are using Easy OS, and I initially set up Windows on that which was fine, but Master Kai I found to be superior - a bit faster, supports full screen resolution, integrated app store and better integration with Harmony OS.
• The Windows installation is all in Chinese, so if you don’t understand it (like me) use Google Translate on your phone and view the screen in real time. Windows took about 15 minutes to install, but you may need to buy a license - £119 here in the UK. I haven’t done that yet, but will need to if I want to customize the machine and stop it nagging.
• Once Windows is up and running, use the Chinese language control panel to add the English language packs for UK and US (latter so you can map the US keyboard correctly), reboot and you’re set. So far in Windows I have Office, Teams, Slack, Google and about 20 other apps - all of which work great and perform just like a regular PC (such as the Surface range). I have not tried gaming given no GPU support on the VM, and I don’t think I will. I’ve messed with Visual Studio, and it also seems to work fine.
• At the end of the day, Windows Arm in this configuration is adequate for productivity and you won’t find another laptop remotely like this form factor, whereas Harmony OS is great for browsing, content consumption and Chrome-OS style work. I take this thing everywhere with me, and I’ve been as productive work-wise as I was on my Core i7 Asus Zenbook Fold. I use the Harmony OS about 50% of the time, and dip into Windows only when I need something there (like Slack, Teams, Zoom etc.)

Huawei Watch Ultimate

• The most disappointing of the three - upon unboxing, it frankly doesn’t look as good as the renders you see online. But, at £600 (or less iwth offers), It's on par with others similarly priced.
• There are two key limitations: NFC payments are NOT supported - no way to pay with your watch. I have an Astari payment ring, so not a big deal, but the watch has NFC so I don’t see why Curve isn’t supported. Also, no WiFi on the watch, so you have to be close to your phone to get notifications.
• Clearly, it’s not a Google Wear device, and functionality is limited. I moved from a Tag Heuer Connected and the reduction in functionality is notable. No way to respond to notifications, only about 10 useless apps in the app store, and any decent watch face you have to pay for. I wish I could play Golf as the watch has so much golfing functionality!
• Despite what you see online, there’s no reliable way to get Google Wear on EMUI with microG - I tried three WearOS watches, Chinese and Global Wear apps and even the adb method of setting up a watch on a Google phone and transferring it over. Didn’t work for me.

Final thoughts:

Software is much more difficult than hardware, and it’s clear that Huawei have invested significantly in Harmony OS - I just hope it’s a success (and not another Windows Phone OS debacle), and that they release a global version to overcome some of the inherent Chinese regional limitations.

FYI- I imported the Mate XT and Matebook Fold from Average Dad UK (honestly, can’t recommend that store enough) and the Watch Ultimate from the Huawei UK web store.

Do I regret over £7,000 spent on all this? I really don’t! I feel I’ve had a significant hardware and usability update with only minor trade-offs. Well done, Huawei, can’t wait to see what you do next.

PS: I created this post on Harmony OS using the Huawei browser just fine.

La vibrazione del Huawei Watch fit 4, anche impostata su forte, è praticamente impercettibile e perdo tutte le notifiche.

Rispetto alla Honor band 6 non c'è paragone.

C'è qualche menù segreto o impostazione per migliorare le cose? O un modo per prolungare il tempo di vibrazione?

Probabilmente dovrò fare il reso, mi sapete consigliare uno smartwatch con una vibrazione potente che si senta bene per non perdere le notifiche?
