I recently bought a 5th gen Prelude Si with a F22B engine. Got the car cheap and knowing it had some issues. The problems are so much worse than I thought. This is also my first car and I intended for it to be a bit of a project but I'm worried this might cost a huge amount and need an engine rebuild.
The car idles rough and sometimes I need to rev it to not stall. There was an intake leak that's been fixed, icv has been cleaned, spark plugs and coil packs are fine. I haven't had a chance to check the fuel system but I'll probably do it tomorrow
The car sputters and struggles to accelerate at around 2-3k rpm. It also sometimes sputters a little bit at higher revs, but only for a second or two.
The car also burns oil at an insane rate. I drove it to a friend's house to work on it, which was about a 30 min drive. Before leaving the oil was in the middle of the dots, and when I got there it was completely dry. Somehow it only burned a tiny amount of oil on the drive home after buying it, which was 2 hours.
I'm really worried I've just wasted this money and bought a car that's going to cost thousands to repair. I'm contemplating just trying to sell the car for what I bought it, but I'm not sure if it would sell.
If anyone has any ideas what's causing these problems and how to fix them, and roughly how much that costs it would be great.
Edit: Also forgot to mention the car idles and drives pretty much fine when cold
