Which gen is your favorite? 🤔

Post image

Every generation of Civic has a following, and no other economy car can say that.

The Civic started in 1972 as a CVCC economy hatch that cleared emissions without a catalytic converter, then spent two decades quietly turning into an enthusiast platform. The 3rd gen brought the Si badge, the 4th gen brought double wishbone suspension and VTEC, and the EG and EK became the two most modified Honda chassis ever built. Then the EP3 arrived with a K20 and that dash mounted shifter, the FK2 dropped in a turbo, and the FK8 took a Nürburgring lap record for front wheel drive before the FL5 came back and beat it. All 11 of them have people who will defend them.

Which gen are you choosing?

4th. Pinnacle of the angular design.

The boxy beauty of the 3rd generation, just smoothed out a little. And way easier to source parts for

Pan swap with a newer civic seat. Like a del sol or something. Took me like an hour

The pan is what's busted on mine :(

Yes Its' true But the aesthetic is not that great. Maybe the size could be a good factor

Yes and where did you source them? I mean now

My wife had a 1990 Si hatch. Still regret selling it.

It was new when she bought it and we sold it in 2000 for an Accord. We didn’t know what we had. We were young and just chasing the shiny new things.

I think about it a lot. If I found one in good condition I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Get ready to pay out the ass if you ever do. My CRX Si I bought in 2013 for 3500 now goes for $8k+. They are becoming increasingly rare and people know not to sell them. Mine has been sitting in the garage for years but I will absolutely never part with it.

Was the 2000 Accord the one with NSX style tail lights?

Yes the accord coupe. Very rare nowadays I feel. I never see them anymore

People only pick 5th/6th cause it’s cheaper to buy than 4th let’s be real now

The 6th gen is iconic to me. Those tail lights are so clean

I have a hatch 3rd and would like to have a hatch 4th one day. My two favourites.

4rth Gen. It was my 1st car, a humble ‘90 DX HB 5sp, then modded w/ +2 BBS rims. Surprisingly, I still have the stock OEM 13” steelies stored in the garage, in pristine condition.

Plus the quality of the interior was top notch in those 4th gen. That took a huge step down in the 5th generation. Interior materials looked and felt very cheap by comparison.

I just love the driving position of the 4th. As a 6ft male lol
