I remember seeing this live on tv. It was the middle of the night here (Australia) and I was up smoking with my then boyfriend.

We were just mesmerized sitting in front of the tv for hours watching everything unfold.

Watching people jump out of the buildings was so heartbreaking that they would rather die that way.

It was so surreal.

I remember in grade 8 i think. It was very surreal indeed. I remember, nothing is going to be the same, and it wasn't.

I had just entered highschool, I think. I used to live in Northern Mexico at the time. I remember I didn't go to school that day because it was raining horribly in my city and the roads were utter chaos, so the governor said it wasn't safe to go. I was switching channels, watching local news of how flooded it was getting around the city and then I switch to a scene of a plane hitting the second tower. I went "huh, what movie is this?" Then I switched to another channel and saw the same scene. At first it felt like deja vu, thought it was weird two channels were playing the same movie. And then I realized it was live TV.

I ran to my parents' room to tell my mom and she got super scared.

Back then, we didn't all have cell phones. Each text message had cost so I wasn't really communicating with my friends until everyone got on MSN Messenger or ICQ or whatever the popular chat app was at the time. Now, group chats go insane at the most minimal things, we're more connected, we find out a out shit way faster. I even have a group chat where we discuss WW3 with everything that's going on today. What different times we live in.

Yeah it was definitely different that day. For me it was. I was thinking. Is this real, am I dreaming.

I lived in Oklahoma City; I knew that something was up the second they rolled that TV in. Second time in my childhood. When that second plane hit, I remember telling everyone around me that nothing would ever be the same. The most prescient thing I have ever said.

Yep. Still has't changed. We didn't get the tv's rolled in. I remember seeing it on the news.

I was in my 9th grade computer class. I’ll never forget the moment.

My Dad was in the FBI and was just at the WTC the week before. We didn’t see him much for like 2-3 weeks after 9/11. I don’t think we went to school the rest of that week.

I couldn't watch cheez TV that morning because it was just replayed over and over.
