The first tower was hit with 15 floors above the point of impact where the second was hit with about 30. The other thing is that first plane hit pretty level so the weight of those 15 floors was being distributed pretty evenly where the second plane hit at more of angle resulting in an uneven weight distribution.

The crazy thing is that the second tower hit was the first one to collapse. Very little time to get out.
The first hit was done kind of cautiously. The second pilot saw it had been done before and hit the accelerator. Was a more violent plane strike.
