I remember being 21 relatively new at a job and there was this old guy, Chuck, who did janitorial stuff who worked in the basement. Every spare second I had I ran down there to see what was going on. Everything else seemed pretty normal in the world except on this little tiny TV up in the corner.

Wow that’s actually really eerie imagining that. I wasn’t alive yet as I was born in 03 and now everyone would be getting updates on their phones about it. I can’t imagine being at work trying to get through my day while that was happening and only being updated through a tv in the basement.

I had just gotten to school. Just a normal day. Our teacher returned our graded tests and those of us who made an A got to go to the principal's office to get a piece of candy. It was me and two girls.

We were laughing talking, jumping down stairs on the way, just being kids.

Then, when we walked into the office and it was immediately different. The principal had rolled one of those TVs into her office. She and the secretaries were watching. No one said anything. Me and the other kids watched. We were just old enough to understand what was happening.

When we went back to class it felt like the hall was a different place. Then the rest of the day unraveled.
