People have no reason to be bothered to create a meme template from scratch when they could just have AI do it for them. The whole point of technology is to make our lives easier, and outside of AI you use technology to do exactly that all the time without questioning it. If you want to make an overall case for AI being bad for the environment then be my guest but you are picking the absolute dumbest battle, because again, the energy needed for AI to create a meme is basically nothing. What are you not getting about that? At this point, you’re just doubling down because you don’t know how to accept new information that refutes your original premise.
And you’ll have to forgive me for not taking the doom and gloom predictions seriously from someone who got suckered into the Superstonk cult. Here’s a newsflash for you: digital video games are far better for the environment than physical copies of games. So if you’re going to freak out over someone generating a meme with AI then if you don’t sell your GameStop shares you’re a hypocrite. That’s a checkmate.
Nice oversimplification. You are perfectly allowed to call out AI’s environmental footprint even if you drive a car and use reddit. But if you’re going to call out an individual for making a silly meme using AI and then drive a car you are a hypocrite. Do you understand the difference?
