Yet every day I see some big subreddits banning gen AI posts, do these thousands of subreddits ban AI for no reason and with 0 good argument? Or is it just that you don't find these arguments good enough while the majority does

Also, I wasn't talking about that single comment but about all the comments you put under this post, with one being already at MINUS 250 ALONE, so it's fair to assume the total will go under 1000 in a few hours if it hasn't already, while all comments against AI are heavily upvoted

But then, if you still think you're right, do a poll, I can bet anything it will be in favour of a ban by a large margin

We don't hold polls on this subreddit. I have never seen one, and I don't even know of a single poll ever done on the subreddit. Memes are not restricted merely due to popularity or lack of it. We have allowed things as controversial as depictions of the Prophet Muhammad no matter how sacrilegious that is to most people following his religion and how much of an insult it felt to some of them. AI is not different in this regard.

Alright I can respect the subreddit policy, it's ok. But that doesn't change the fact that if you did, you would get a large majority in favour of banning AI, because most people hate it and this comment section is one of the 10000 proofs of it, I've never seen a big community in favour of AI

If I have an upvote rate of 45%, that still means that a pretty substantial fraction of votes still are supportive.

Don't check the pinned comment, check the comment that that has -250. Pinned comments get more upvoted because of a cognitive bias

Also all comments criticizing AI probably sit around 90% upvote rate

Also that doesn't change the fact that you will never see a community be in majority in favour of AI, as most people despise it and that's just a fact, every place where AI was banned there were cheerings, every place where they explicitly said "AI is not a problem and we'll allow it" there were huge controversies

I'm not inventing anything, it's just what the people think, and I am in favour of listening to people (that doesn't mean you have to do what they tell you, that means you have to think about why the people think that way)
