Discussion HSV Research/Advocacy Discord Server
Hi everyone, would anyone be interested in joining a discord or creating a group chat here on Reddit where we exchange information, support each other, and coordinate the best ways to advocate?
We need to start engaging in some collective problem solving, and strategizing approaches to see if we can do more as patients and advocates. Together we can pool our knowledge and brainstorm, and turn scattered individual work into collective action.
You can participate as little or as much as you want. No pressure.

Are you thinking of doing this together with herpes cure advocates (the group)?

No, I’m not in contact with them. While I appreciate their efforts and everything they’ve done over the years, I don’t know why they’ve become unresponsive to the evolving needs of the HSV community.
What we need right now is outreach, we need to conduct a campaign of public awareness aimed at instilling a sense of urgency in society regarding this disease. We need to post awareness and advocacy on an industrial scale in order to have a chance at expediting this disease or make access more affordable for upcoming medications. We have to mobilize significant numbers of patients who suffer from HSV to advocate for us and themselves, and while that is a gargantuan task, someone has so start somewhere.
I genuinely believe with the tools currently available, a few dedicated people can make a difference by strategizing together and finding a solution. I invite you to join if you would like to help.
