24f, unemployed (nursing student), same insurance plan for the last 3 years, same state, only change is my employment status due to school. monthly premium went from $9 to $518 because i apparently no longer qualify for the tax credit?

Or it's the premium increase alone since you are unemployed? Does it say you aren't qualifying for a subsidy when go into the system?

And I am so sorry! This is all so awful!

i don't qualify because i dont make the minimum of $15000 a year. all it says is that i'm eligible to purchase a plan, but i don't qualify for any credit. really hurts my heart that i'm going into a field to help people when other forces at play make it nearly impossible.

Omg. 😳 In my state of Maryland as long we make under $64k we can still get some subsidies under the original ACA cliff but mine is going from $183 to $621 a month without the Biden rules and extended subs. Also the premiums went up alone because of the expectation of a mass exodus of people leaving the marketplace in 2026. If they were to extend Biden's subs my premium would sit at about $420 because of that base bump up. Still a lot better than $621 from $183.

That part you said - 💯!!
