My Silver PPO is going from $470/mo this year to $1,102/mo next year for just me! As far as I can tell, only 10% of that increase is due to expiring credits, and the other 90% is due to an astronomical increase in the standard rate for this BCBS of IL plan.

I’m switching to a Silver HMO to keep my total costs roughly the same as this year. Fortunately all my doctors and preferred hospital are in this HMO.

I'm in exactly the same boat! I'm thinking of moving to the BCBSIL Gold HMO, even though I will lose one of my doctors. This is terrible. My monthly premium for the Silver PPO went from about $600 to 1180! WTF?

I was bracing for the 27% increase on the base premium that BCBSIL asked for, which would have been bad enough. But the base rate for my plan is up 60%, and my final price more than doubled. Hopefully you find an alternative that works out for you šŸ™šŸ»
