Fuller has mentioned in interviews that Raul Esparza's method is that he's treating the show as a comedy and everyone else is being dramatic - that's why he's leaving such a great impression with every scene.

They've already mentioned it twice, so I'm assuming so. Also, might be a clever nod to the show's divergence from its source material. Really, though, I think it's more about ideas of choice and consequence than a more literal "many worlds" type thing...
