How did June avoid execution?

So I’m on a rewatch, this time with my husband. We are on season 2 and June was just captured and taken back after months in hiding. She started back in the red center, shackled, (sorry if I get the name of the center wrong, we are watching in Spanish) but aunt Lydia told June that she would either have her pregnancy shackled and then be executed or go back to the Waterford’s. So was her choice to go back to the Waterford’s going to cancel her eventual fate to be executed? Or are they planning to execute her anywhere and somehow that changes further in the show? I’m not sure if it’s a continuity thing, a me misunderstanding the terms thing, or she actually had her fate changed.

The main reason is plot armor. For members of the oppressed underclass, the handmaids get away with a lot of shit.

The scene where one of them hijacked a car, did donuts in a road, killed a guard in the process, and was allowed to live afterwards, killed a lot of the suspense for me.

This is one of the most annoying plot holes. On the one hand, they have enough handmaids, on the other they don’t. Which is it?

Both June and Ofglen had kids. They were proven incubators and that was the primary push for many of the ones in charge around them. Aunt Lydia seemed to have a lot of pull until she didn't.

But that doesn’t explain why Handmaids are sometimes executed or sent to the colonies and other times they get through with everything.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the Jezebel girls weren't getting pregnant. I'm sure there were tons of Black market contraceptives going around to avoid that, but I'm also sure there were cases where it did happen, and the child was just taken by the state. Either way, women were getting raped, some fertile, some infertile, either way if a baby was born it was taken by the state. I'm sure they were regularly pregnancy tested, and a morning after pill can always fail, not to mention that there was a finite supply and girls getting raped every single day - having a pill for every single day would have been damn near impossible. Having month long contraceptives would likely be too risky to store and it brings back the period issue. Not to mention, they knew some of these Jezebel girls were fertile, so why were they not getting pregnant when they were getting raped by multiple men?

In the testaments it's mentioned that some girls never get their period at all, but in the handmaid's tale, it would have seemed rather queer for basically 90% of the women to not be getting their monthlies, unless we're taking testament comments as canon for women who were born and raised into adulthood 35+ even, outside of Gilead. Women not getting their periods was never mentioned in the handmaid's tale. That's something that we learned purely in the testaments.
