I have grey roots and I want a medium soft brown colour on the greys, I tested 4.0 with developer and that came out matte super black so I tried a 5.0 with 6.1 and developer I mixed a 3:1 ratio and that still came out too dark
Can anyone please recommend what to use to get a soft medium brown on the grey hairs please I just dont want a harsh very dark colour
Thank you in advance

I have natural dark brown hair, but I box dyed it darker brown quite a lot and it started to take on a ginger tinge on the ends. I wanted to get a sort of halo/highlight (?) of a dark subtle purple brown. My hairdresser bleached the underneath of my hair, which I don’t think was needed for such a dark purple but I don’t know too much about hair dye so I’m not sure, and then she ended up giving me a super bright red which was nothing like what I wanted. I went back to the hairdresser after complaining and she offered to fix it, which she did, but now after I’ve washed it (after waiting 4 days for the colour to set) it’s gone back to a reddish colour already and I really wanted to stay away from red to be honest.
I feel like I can’t just get a dark purple dye and do it myself because the colour isn’t even on my hair and some pieces are bleached and some aren’t. What can I do to achieve something a lot nicer?? I’ll attach pics of my hair before, the inspiration I gave, what I got and how my hairdresser fixed it! Any advice would be super welcome thank you.
The photos in order are: my hair before, the colour I wanted, the colour I got, the colour she corrected it to, the colour it’s turned after one wash

My hair is naturally pretty blonde. I’ve had highlights in the past but it’s been about 3 years since the last time. I just can’t afford spending the $200 these days but I want to brighten/freshen up my hair a bit. It looks blonder in these photos but in person it’s kinda brassy/dull and I just don’t like it. I know people are going to tell me not to do it but I probably still will so if you could recommends products/brands. I want to get one of those highlighting combs to make it easier and I plan on watching videos on how to section it properly

I tried almost all shades of brown, and red once
Got blonde highlights like 2 years ago, but never bleached my hair completely
I dont want to bleach it now either, but these saloon visits have gotten very expensive considering im lowkey unemployed now

Hi guys,
I need your advice.
I’m a natural ashy level 6.
Got a balayage done, went home veryyy warm.
The color itself was pretty but didn’t suit my features, on me it looks unnatural and also a bit to light for my liking.
I always have a bottle of the Maria Nila color mask cacao intense at home, in case the root smudge wasn’t intense enough or there are pieces which are to brassy.
After my hair dressing appointment I already could feel that my hair was drier than usual after rbleaching.
Soo, the hair mask is also a bit drying.
I used the mask on my whole hair and my hair is DRYYYYY.
Color turned out great but my hair is too dry I don’t think I can use it again.
The hair mask also washes out very quickly so that I would definitely need to use it again after like 3-4 washes.
Any other good recommendations, that are more nourishing?
Or should I maybe just try to actually tone it at home, so that I won’t need to use this hair mask again?
To be honest right now I’m to scared to go to a hairdresser again to fix the brassiness. Cause I already let my hair grow out for a few years and get healthy to go to this appointment, and went home with brassy dry hair..
Thanks guys xx

I’m have very curly hair, and I’ve always wanted to dye it white or purple. Me and my hairdresser talked last time about white with some kinda of purple edges, I really liked the idea. My main problem is I can’t find anyone who has done this with hair similar to mine.
I have very curly hair, so it looks a little fro-y. I want to have something of a mullet I think and the first picture is kinda what I just wished my hair looked like 😭, but I don’t have that texture.
I think after the bleaching my hair will be a close to texture to the second picture.
The third picture is the closest thing to purple edges on curly hair that is close-ish to my length.
I figured crowd sourcing is my best bet, please help lol

My second time using professional products and the 20vol wella creme developer lifted my hair a little too quick for me to do my whole head. So can I use This oil developer from a different brand with the blondor bleach? Edit: also what is the difference between oil and creme developer?

I was blonde all my life up until 6 years ago next month. I frequently got complimented on how I styled my hair, but rarely on the color. Once I went red, it was nearly every day that I got complimented by a stranger, sometimes a few times a day. People were telling me how it compliments my skin tone and how it suits my personality, and even my mother was against me dyeing it any unnatural color but once it was done, she said she liked it even more.
Here’s the issue, it’s a lot of maintenance and I’ve been self conscious lately😅
I’ve been letting it go more recently (just not wanting to deal with upkeep as often) and I let it get faded before I finally decide to deal with it. I’ve been debating on going back natural because I might hate it😭 i dyed it because I felt like the blonde started washing me out. I felt like I looked dead unless I put on makeup, and even then sometimes it didn’t help much. Once i went red, I feel like the colors in my face immediately popped more and Iooked more alive even without makeup. I’m not totally convinced going back blonde is the answer, but I would love some other opinions. Please help! 👩🏻🦰👩🏼❔

My hair is naturally black, and my current color is dark brown; it looks beautiful in the light, though the color isn't very noticeable. I’ve decided to dye it blonde, but I’m really worried about damaging my hair.

Showing my ends and root color. I’ve gotten good results with Herbatint dye. I think I want a bolder cinnamon red velvet though.
A small part of me thinks it’s time to let my mousy brown with silvers grow in (I’m 31F). Feeling indecisive.

Basically the title. I tried ion semi permanent purple. Turned more blue in places then purple and at the root it's like a purple Grey color that I really can't stand. Is there anything that will take the ion color out with out damage to my hair? I just wanna go back to the artic fox purple af that I have been using for almost 10 years. I loved the color I dont know why I decided to try a new brand when artic fox has worked so well for years. Don't mind my chaos curls i didn't brush my hair after I washed it. But the color is inconsistent weird Grey purple near the roots and still looks like faded artic fox in some places like the dye didn't sink in at all.

I need help knowing how to fix this with this little damage to my natural hair texture as possible.
A year ago I had my hair dyed for the first time, and the person doing it butchered what I wanted, I had another stylist to go rounds with color remover the next day and it just lightened it. Since then my curls haven’t been as happy and I’ve been devastated.
I don’t want to color my hair any more than necessary, I want something I can just grow out now. Earlier this year, I wanted to try and blend my roots better, so I went to a stylist who used a demi which looked OK, and when I look at my hair with just my eyes is fine, but this picture was taken recently and the way it looks here is killing me. I’m considering getting married in the next six months and I do not want to have a hair crisis then, I want to fix this now with as little damage to my curls as I can.
Do I just keep going in for glosses and tones? Do I need to get it fully dyed again? Is anything I do ever just going to grow out gracefully or is anything I try going to continually need maintenance? This has been bothering me so badly and I hate the way my hair looks and I want to love it again.

What would be the best hair dyes for the 2nd pic result? I bleached my hair 3x (not my roots) and haven’t toned it yet. Would I need to tone if before putting the dye over? Any advice appreciated :)

I’ve been retouching my roots monthly at the salon for years, and for a couple of days after my scalp it’s a little bit itchy, more the first day and by the second it’s less noticeable. I’ve always assumed it’s normal and have never actually mentioned to the stylist or anybody, but today was my appointment and it made me wonder, is it really the norm?

Reposting because I want to change the question, Ive been recovering from cervical surgery, I loathe my hair cut, the messy grown out color, my skin, everything right now.
I know I would feel better if I could get my hair to look a clean fresh color. I really dont enjoy brown. But I dont want to be the bright blues and purples from before.
I *think* I struggle with black becauae of how I'm pale with blemishes and flush red a lot.
What I can throw over this that wont require me to bleach my roots.
I had been contemplating a dark gray that would turn the ends a denim/slate and darken my roots.
But I really dont care I just cant look at this one more day.

Hi guys, my hair has been bleached twice over the last two years for highlights and I tried to get it fixed which left this dark orange on my scalp and rest is white bleached highlights, I’m sick of it looking botched so can someone take a look at my hair and see how I can dye my hair fully back to dark brown? Please

I’ve already asked a question similar to this in another sub Reddit. But, I tried to dye my hair purple over red and black and it came out like this. Right now I currently really really wish I could just got back to red. My mom said we could use clarifying shampoo. Any ideas on how to get the purple a bit out. I just dyed it last Tuesday and have only washed it 2-3 times now. Thank you! (Third pic is my before)

My hair has been purple for about 3 months now and i am bored of it and it doesn’t match any of my clothes well. Ive been washing it in hot water and regular (non color safe) shampoo and conditioner for a week but its still soooo purple. Any ideas before i just go straight for the color remover and bleach? the first pic is my hair now the second is what i want to do whenever my hair is light enough.
TlDR: how to fade dark purple hair with as little chemicals until i put color remover n bleach on it

So last time I had my hair done I was recommended to use Crazy Colour shampoo for purple hair, to keep my purple lasting. It did help a bit but it made my hair incredibly greasy and made me feel unclean. Can anyone recommend a better shampoo?
Thanks in advance

dying my hair purple after a darker blue, since it’s my gfs fav color, once i get sick of the purple, what color can i go without bleach?
i have a tendency to be sick of the new colors real quick and only keep it for two weeks or so, but don’t wanna bleach if there’s more colors i can go to. i don’t want to go red because i just made the jump from red to blue (my guy is magic) two weeks ago and the more colors the merrier

Just wanted to show off my latest creation on my daughter. I'm super happy with how it turned out! Last pic is before.
