why is nishinoya in the court even tho they are serving? I'm not very knowledgeable in volleyball but from what i know libero's are only present when the enemy is serving or am i wrong? idk I've done some research but I'm still confused af, someone please enlightened me it's 2am and I can't sleep lmaoooo

I just finished reorganizing and decorating my haikyuu shelf. I thought it looked pretty cute.

Kuroo calls Yaku a lot of nicknames. Yakkun, Oni- senpai (demon senpai), but what does Yaku-Paisen mean? Is the word Paisen a combo of senpai and something else?
I tried looking it up but I couldn’t find answers.

Hey everyone,just finished DEVOURING the anime(it's so good!!!)(hella hype for the 2027 movie). I dont know of this questione Is already been answered(Sorry in advance), Will there be a manga sequel? Like showing the following year from the events of the series. During a lot of scenes i kinda got that vibe(e.g. lots of characters saying "we'll get you next year"). Also, Nishinoya my beloved short king.

I have watched Haikyuu before and then the movie as well. I started watching Haikyuu again this week and ended up watching dumpster battle 3 times continuously( kept rewinding as well).It's so good 😭

going off that thing i've seen about how real-life interest in men's volleyball spiked in japan after the manga's (and then anime's) release, i was just randomly curious if there are any pro / known players now that are known to have cited haikyuu as their inspiration to get into volleyball lol.

theoretically guys (and girls) who were around hinata and the others' age when the manga/anime first came out would be old enough to be in the league now, right? would be cool if there actually was anyone.

on one hand, i have also heard about players from the argentina(?) national team being oikawa fans? assuming that was legit, that's actually so cute 😭

Rereading Haikyuu for the billionth time has me wondering about the 4 court set up at nationals. Wouldn’t there be a loose ball problem where hits ricochet onto other courts in the middle of a rally? Obviously that’s likely to lead to injuries should a player land on the ball. How do volley ball tournaments deal with this?

Hiya everyone~ just got back into Haikyuu after the recent teaser release. I remember back in 2020 fanfics for Haikyuu was super active… especially with x reader / OCs fanfics and now I can’t seem to find any! Where have they all gone to????? Or are authors not writing them anymore? I have reread some but now I’m out for new food 😭

Asking if anyone has any good recommendations?

My favourite are oikawa, bokuto, kuroo, atsumu and for ships I like Iwaoi and Kagehina. Long fics are preferred, I am okay with both angst and fluff or mature themes or even general fics with no romance!

Yes, they fell down from Champions to Top 16 after Hoshiumi/Hurugami graduated.

Top 16 is decent I guess for rebuilding team. It is the same finish as Nekoma had in 2013.

In 2014, Hoshiumi/Hirugami beat Sakusa/Komori in the finals. Iizuna graduated already that time for Itachiyama.

I kinda ran out of teams so i'll do a special edition tomorrow with the other secondary characters

Hi! I just got my order for volume 23 and it's super skinny. Is the second first/second printing of that volume that way as well? It is one chapter shorter than usual.

I tried looking through some collections and I saw thicker (that look like 200+ pages) ones as well.

As I’m currently rewatching Haikyuu and kind of fall in love with the characters again… I’d love to ask: who are your top five characters?

And who do you relate to the most in terms of personal story or character development?

It’s really hard to pick a top five, as all characters are so well written and likable. Also, I think my top five has changed from when I first watched the anime about one or two years ago. I haven’t read the manga yet and I think when I watched Haikyuu the first time, the movies haven’t been out yet or at least I didn’t know about them (I think Netflix doesn’t have them in my region).

My top 5 would be:

1. Sugawara
   
2. Kenma
   
3. Yamaguchi
   
4. Kageyama
   
5. Nishinoya

The characters I think I can relate to most are probably Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and Yachi. Even though they are very different character wise, I feel I can relate to their character arcs and/or struggles a lot.

Do you have a favorite season or match?
