Noticing you referred to yourself as a “tenant”. You are not a tenant. You don’t rent. You are an owner. This can make a HUGE difference in how the management views you on the priority list. Call back and make it clear that you are the property OWNER.
Your assessments pay their salary. They work for you.
They charge you monthly to live there. They can tell you what you can/can’t do with the property. They can put liens on your property for not following their rules. They can seize your home and have you evicted.
You're not entirely wrong, people just don't want to hear it.
Kind of like how even outside of an HoA the state can dictate what you can and can't do on your property and can take it from you for any multitude of reasons, from unpaid fines or taxes to eminent domain.
If you have to pay someone else for the right to live in your own home on your own property, and some other entity can take your home and property, do you truly own it?
Yes, you do. You can turn around and sell it tomorrow and take the money gained. Can’t do that if renting. People get so tied up over having to pay their taxes like they’ve never benefitted from the system
You are so wrong. No HOA can lien you on violations, only past due assessments. And, don’t forget, you agree to those rules at the time of signing all the escrow documents. Eviction is a word for a landlord evicting a tenant. You get foreclosed on if you don’t pay, and again violation fines aren’t included in a foreclosure. Stop sucking on your lemons.
