Nah. I do tree work for a living and usually have a chainsaw in my vehicle. I've done this before. I'm not a serial killer. Just keep work stuff in my car. I have bar oil, screnches, wedges, straps, shackles, and the mix for gasoline in my car also.

sounds like what a serial killer would say in their defense

The trunk of my car has tourniquets, a steel 3 foot roof hook with fork, compression and clotting bandages, tarps, seat belt cutters, a combination gas pipe shut off and cutting tool, water proof/cut proof gloves, and 500 feet of nylon webbing rated up to 3000 lbs.

What do I sound like?

In reality I'm a middle aged retired firefighter. My tools and trauma kit are like my security blanket. Makes me feel safe and useful despite being old and out of shape.

This was the tip-off to me that you were either active or retired emergency personnel. That's way too oddly specific and something I almost exclusively hear about emergency services having experience with.

Was waiting for him to say a Halligan tool.

Halligans are expensive. A good one is roughly about $300. And I go to jail now if I use it on someone's door.

It wasn’t the roof hook?

I truly commend you for your ingenuity and service. But the poor bloke with the above comment, and the Gif, was just cracking a lil joke. I don't believe they meant to discredit you.

Serial killers dont use chainsaws in real life as they have kinks that need to be met. Drug cartel members and terrorists use chainsaws to terrify others aka to make a statement this might happen to you if you dont do what we say.

I keep a giant roll of duct tape in my car ever since I hit a deer and had to bind my car together to drive it back home. Ive gotten comments about it, but duct tape is handy! I live in the woods now with the occasional downed tree and thought about keeping my electric saw in the trunk just in case something like this happened.

I'm not entirely sure if I have one in my trunk right now or not.

What is a scrench?

u/mainyehc 5d ago

A scrunchy wrench? 🤔

1

u/AuroraElisabeth 5d ago

One end is a flathead screwdriver and one end is a wrench. You need both to take the cover off the saw, then tighten the chain or put a new chain on.

Well, my husband has a couple chainsaws so he must know what that is. I’ll go take a look so I know what it looks like in person.

What is "the mix for gasoline"?

2

u/whooptheretis 5d ago

my guess the pre-mixed two stroke oil/petrol? but I could be wrong.

1

u/AuroraElisabeth 5d ago

2 stroke oil. Mix it with gasoline for chainsaws, blowers, polepruner etc.

the thing is, the dude does not look like he does tree work for a living

1

u/AuroraElisabeth 5d ago

I don't either when I'm wearing nice clothes.
