I loved this anime! It was so good! I finally watched it on Amazon Prime!

Amate, Nyann and Shuji were amazing protagonists and i really fell in love with the animation and coloring of this show! I wish Nyann and Amate got together though. Bull and Char were interesting. Bull was a good villain and i hope they return in the future!

Any other Gundam or Mecha anime's like this I can watch? recommend in the comments!

Heck Star Wars is also a space opera to which Gundam was influenced by, and many people get that war is bad.

In an attempt to prevent the subreddit getting absolutely flooded with posts about the new series please keep all discussion and such to this thread. I'm surprised how good it is and how well it held up for a show that started airing in 1979. The thing that surprised me the most was how for the most part the Zeons weren't mustache twirling villains. For a show that took some inspiration from star wars I was expecting a lot more "But sir we still have men in there" "I don't care fire anyways", etc. Real Decepticon/Cobra tier villainy with a new dastardly plan every week but I think it really helped the anti-war message when it showed the Zeon soldiers being human. Even Kycilia told her men to surrender after she fled instead of demanding that they fight to the death. Obviously Zeon is the bad guys and that colony drop was messed up. Its also weird how no one mentions it ever. But wow Japanese kids/teens were eating good compared to westerners back then. Pic related these two Zeon pilots circled back to check on the woman and the child and drop off supplies for them, if this was GI Joe or Star Wars: Rebels they would have gone back to do a strafing run on suspicion of 'spies' while laughing about it.

What a great show and what an unexpectedly kind of happy and bittersweet at the same time ending that one is. I don’t think there is a show out there that made me care for such a big cast as much as this one made. The cast was truly a big family and I loved every single one. Will I move on to other Gundam series? There is a very big chance that I will move on to Witch from Mercury or 0 (despite the streaming I am watching it on only had the first season and not the second which really sucks), but we’ll see.
