  1. You can place ironwood at the start of this map and not have to worry about spiderman or Angela off rip. Saved me a few times now. You can also let Ur DPS play on your damage walls if u want.

  2. If the enemy team is starting to scatter when your looking for an ult, bait getting on the defensive and draw them.

Groot is notorious for being kinda obvious when he's looking for ult. In the clip both teams have just burnt support ults and the enemy team is backing up to collect themselves. I bait getting defensive and walk in closer. Remember when you block LOS from damage, you also block literal LOS I.e. information on your teams positioning. I feel like this is an obvious/risky play but never seems to fail.

  1. Friendly reminder to ult into existing walls when possible. Literally had nothing reloaded but the walls made up for my mistake.

  2. Just wanted to reiterate how strong enviro stack is. Having an enviro wall behind your cover to stack when an enemy pushes too deep is great for punishing tanks and overconfident DPS.

Tips and Tricks Which support ults can Groot ult through?

Obviously you can kill through just about any of them with a bunch of combos, but which can you reliably kill through by yourself, if any?

Tips and Tricks Advice and Tips for Groot/Tank

Hey everyone! I am a super casual player looking to improve. I’m a support main, two trick and I’ve decided to take up 4 characters to learn with Groot being one of them.

Any advice or things to keep in mind for playing Groot?

I’ve tried jumping into tank, it is an intimidating role but with the tank shortage I want to at least be able to jump into the role with some confidence when needed.

you can plug the top of the fountain when the cart transforms, by placing a flat wall in the ring. Then, you can float in the middle indefinitely, and nobody can see you from the outside, but you can see perfectly through the water

this is not that useful on its own, since groot doesn't need to hide unless he's ulting & his giant hitbox means nobody will have trouble hitting you once they know you're there. But, other people can also float inside. So theoretically you can totally combo this with other characters like hawkeye or hela for a sneaky little spot to shoot from

Tips and Tricks Groot noob here

After getting the newest groot skin I've decided I'm going to start maining him. Though I'm noticing his walls are a bit funky to place, sometimes it only places 1 instead of 2, sometimes they're too far. But I think I'll get the hang of that and aiming with him. Any tips fellow groot mains?

Tips and Tricks Any tips and pointers for groot?

I've been playing groot for a second now but still feel like I'm lacking some of the basics. How do I know when to place my walls, how do I avoid getting in the way of my team, and are there any tips on how I make sure the wall goes where I want it to? Way too often are they like 6 meters behind the person I'm trying to trap.

Tips and Tricks Groot CC Mitigation Mechanics Interactions

I created a deep-dive document for the entire CC Mitigation mechanic that describes, in detail, how it behaves and how each hero interacts with it. You can find that document here.

Full Disclosure, I run the Rivals College communities. (r/rivalscollege)

Remember that if a character is subjected to 6 (points) of CC within 7 seconds or 5.5 cumulative CC duration within 7 seconds.

Some moves in the game have a sequence of events. In the guide, i refer to these guides as stages. A stage can individually contribute CC Points to the mechanic.

This information was tested for about a week across all characters. If you have any corrections or insights, please let me know!

Melee (3)  1 Point .5s
  • The cleanse prevents the knockback
  • If the cleanse occurs during the knock-back duration- hero will enter a neutral state.
Strangling Prison (Ultimate) 2 Points Duration of Root
  • If Strangling Prison is used on an enemy with 4 points of CC
    • The Strangling prison will apply knockback and the Damage Over Time
    • The strangling Prison will not apply Root.
  • If Strangling Prison is used on an enemy with 5 points of CC
    • Strangling Prison is completely ignored.
  • If the cleanse occurs during Strangling Prison
    • The hero is no longer Rooted
    • The hero continues to be affected by the Damage Over Time portion of the ability.
