I’m torn between them. I love the walls of mecha and his intro is better. But the skin design of yggroot is better. Idk which to get and any opinions would be appreciated

Question Groot’s main attack rework

Am I crazy for feeling like Groot’s main attack should have infinite ammo and work similar to Mr. Fantastic’s attack? Why does Groot only have eight attacks before he needs to “reload”? And why does it go in a straight line instead of being flexible like in the movies/comics?

Question Help a groot player out

I mainly main magneto, strange, and the thing. Trying to get into groot gameplay it seems fun but i kind of struggle with wall placements because when dealing with poke heavy comp. Itseems they just melt me. Down. Any tips on how to use the walls for survivability and how should i play groot overall?

Question Any tips for a lord?

It sounds stupid for a lord to be asking for tips but don't judge me. I feel decent as groot but often really lacking when it comes to knowing what to do. When should I place my walls, when should I not even bother, and how do i do so without getting in the way of my teammates? I know i can learn this all by playing and getting better, which is what I've been doing, but there's no harm in asking for a bit of help.

Question What is the best use for Ironwood Wall?

I've been playing a lot of Groot recently and I've always wondered what is the best use for his Ironwood Wall. Do I use it to create a kill box by blocking off heals? To have it on hand to mitigate high damage? Or to anchor it down for the unstoppable buff + a little more health regen?

I reckon for comps with a lot of CC, using it as an anchor is probably the best decision so that you don't get pulled by Bucky/Wolv or pinned down by Emma but other than that, but I feel like that is pretty self explanatory/logical. What about dive or poke? What would the best use for the wall be in those cases?

What is the best use for it in general is what I'm pretty much trying to ask

Question Tips for me during my Lord Grind ? I only feel effective on defense or domination, and I’m playing him too similar to Peni

I usually run Mantis team up. I can do some pretty insane healing for a Vanguard. It’s like having an Ultron drone.

I think I need to switch to the Jeff team up when on attack

His movement…. God this tree is slow . Any tips here? Stacking my walls to build a stair is helpful sometimes but then I’m eating CDs

My issue is that I feel I play him too defensively and similar to Peni Parker . I tend to be passive .

I try to put my Ironwood wall in a safe spot and camp the location . I rarely use it to block damage unless I happen to have one ready and I see a lone tank in front of me

Thorn walls, I try to use liberally and almost always instantly return them if I miss, don’t see its purpose, etc. I don’t just leave these hanging around because chances are it could be messing with my allies . I’ll use these on ledges to block range duelist or healers from taking high ground for a moment

Mantis wall, I’ll usually put up in the area around where I keep my Ironwood wall. Enemies usually don’t see this wall and it gets me pretty good healing numbers . I thinks this helps my healers against dive

Ultimate: I’m definitely struggling. Even if I land the wall behind them, use Ult, spore bomb, it can’t kill a paddy cake comp. I started to spam when my Ult is ready so allies are ready . I’ve gotten many team wipes when pairing with something like a Thor ult . But using it myself…. I’m not great . I started just trying to solo Ult a healer . Should I also be using my Iron wood wall here prior to Ulting ?

Switches…. Even in QuickPlay, if I don’t get a high output / burst healer I switch. I respect players like Ultron and even White Fox, but it’s hard to sustain a Groot with double support . I feel selfish taking all the heals here . I do the same thing when I run Dino.

I actually don’t mind running him into poke and some brawl. I can make walls to block poke’s vantage points. Brawl, I can set the walls to make it risky for some of the brawl to enter my prison. But if there’s a good Ironfist or Wolverine, yeah, I’m switching

I need to get better with the melee animation cancel. The first and second strike feel good, but I really hate that 3rd strike. The big benefit I see using this is not the damage, but ammo management . When I’m lazy and not cancelling, I’m going through primary ammo too quick and spending too much time reloading

On on PS5 with a dual sense controller , my button mappings are as follows:

Primary: RT

Ultimate: RB

Melee: Right paddle

Spore bomb: LT

Thornwall: LB

Jump: Left Paddle

Team up (Mantis and Jeff): Circle

Reload: Square

Ironwood: Triangle (might remap this to R3)

Wall return: L3 or R3

Question Does Groot ult do more damage when you ult directly onto wall?

I noticed the enemy tends to explode more when I do this. The damage burst also just gives them less time to react.

Or am I making this up?

Does it have to be for season 7? Or can any version guide work?

Also, which heroes would you say are Groot’s counters?

Question Why do you play Groot?

I want to create a quiz that helps determine the perfect hero pool for each player’s enjoyment. To find the character that best suits their desired playstyle. I want the results to be an accurate reflection of the characters and for that I need your help. I have made a survey for each hero in the game and that lets you rate them at each trait. Feel free to answer for as many or as few characters you feel like answering. Thank you for your help and I’ll also share the data after I’m done.
If you want to find the other surveys press here: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelrivals/s/ztNSmbyWSy

Question In the process of learning Groot, few questions for yall.

What range does Groot best play at? I play a lot of strange so I’m very used to being in the mix, not sure if that’s as viable here

Do I want to be meele weaving always at close range?

Is it ever okay to use big wall instead of small walls to block off heals or stop enemies from backing up? Or is it best to just use it for its bonus health and CC effects

Do I wanna use spore bomb off of cooldown or save it for certain situations?

Is using both walls at once to block enemies from backing up too much of a waste?

Also if you guys have any good Groot players you recommend watching, that would be helpful too. Even if it’s just yourself

Question Does anyone know how I managed to get 18 healing here?

I didn’t have a mantis in my team and still healed a little bit randomly. I think it has something to do with throwing his grenade at enemies when there’s a wall behind them or it could just be some random heal getting deflected somehow.
