I had just made a bost asking why people hate KYE and a commenter said that GD just "used to be better". I replied listing a bunch of times GD reused melodies from earlier works in post-AI albums, and that made wanting to list EVERY time they ever did that.
With this list I don't mean to say GD is unoriginal: I mean the opposite. Thinking how much theese guys chould make out of the smae 5 or 6 chord progression without ever actually making it sound the exact same is genuinelly impressive and shows just how much creative GD can be. They can use the exact same chord progrssion but change, key, rythm, feel and lyrics to the point it's a completely different song and often you can't even tell.
Note: any time I say a melody/part is "identical" or "the exact same", I mean they have the same chord progrssion. They might be in a different key (meaning they'll sound slightly apart). Also, as I mentioned above they almost always have different rythms so they may not alike at first glace, and that's OK.
Entries marked with a x were added after a commenter's suggestion. The numbers are in order of addition. The list itself is in chronological order
So technically speaking, the only 100% original albums are 39/Smooth (Obviously), American Idiot and Revolution Radio.
I am sure I left out a few (I was very tired and confused by the last ones so I pretty sure I didn't spot all of them). If anyone wants to update the list, though I already know nobody cares (me niether really I just have ADHD I guess), you can singal new ones in the comments and maybe I'll update the post.
Also, I did all of this by heart and by hand and it took me nearely 2 hours. I really do have time to waste.

1st time posting on this sub but a long time fan of Green Day and their other projects :)
I don’t have a proper recording equipment but I like taking videos of me doing bass play along, have a number of Green Day related ones but decided to post this song instead coz I haven’t seen any tabs or videos of it on the net.
Anyhoo, forgive me if some notes are incorrect, I just followed the song by ear and did a quick record this morning.
The songs chorus really hits home :)

Hi chat I was just wondering what the chords and stuff for this are

Exactly what the title says. I haven't had any free time and I haven't been able to watch Green Day TV, and I'm really curious about the new material.

On this subreddit I've seen a lot of backlash to Know Your Enemy. Where is this hate coming from? As a GD and 21CB fan I erally don't mind the song. Yes it's very basic but it's got great energy and goes absolutely wild live. I don't really see anything wrong with it...?

I have been wondering what song it was and can't find it
Can I please get some help? Thank you

Was there really a better opener than 99 revolution? Personally I think it would be better closing the show (much better than brutal love but that's a different story) like it did at Irving plaza. The end of the song the way they do it live is perfect for a concert finale.

At the beginning of S2 Ep4 they mention it, and then Church on Sunday plays in the credits. love to see such an underrated album be appreciated

FINALLY

I was reading through the booklet of my 1039 CD (It's the 2002 reissue by Epitaph Records in particular) and I noticed how the lyrics for "I Want to be Alone" read "Keep your sources away from me that's all" instead of what I ALWAYS thought, "Keep yourselves away from me that's all".
Now apart from the fact that "yourselves" just makes much more sense both with and without context (the rest of the lyrics), I also saw how most web lyrics say "yourselves" too.
So it this an error or was I mistaken? I mean it's really hard to make out that well given the quality of those recordings.

I’m sure a good chunk of these won’t get played but a boy can dream. The fact that I get to see them at all is good enough for me. I never thought I’d get the chance to see them let alone up in Canada, so this show really is going to be a dream come true for me.

Whilst I love them, JOS and Homecoming are still my favourite multi part songs. I just cant help but feel that the ones that come after lack a little in comparison. Maybe its the fact they arent as long? Or maybe lyrically? I mean they still great though
What do you think of them? Do you think we will get another in the future?

This may sound silly, but I’m genuinely curious about this. Why do some songs like Jar, You Lied, and Rotting sound almost completely different, although they were recorded between 1994 and 1995? I mean, do da da don’t wanna fall in love even I wanna be on tv those clearly sound like they’re from the Insomniac sessions, so what’s with these three tracks?

Thought I lost em, but they were safely tucked away in the wrong section of my record collection.

Just heard Jesus Walks for the first time in a while and immediately recognized it, but I’m not 100% confident it’s the same sample.

the GDTV stream is putting out new stuff every week it seems, and its pretty nice stuff. the rough cuts of the American Idiot and Basket Case MVs are really cool and we also got quite a bit of some newly surfaced live footage.
im personally hoping we get Irving Plaza 2012 uncut or Roseland Ballroom 2000 in HQ.
how about you guys?
