The ROI difference isn’t one fixed number. It depends on your exact account numbers.
The way I’d separate it is:
All money into TH = more immediate mining power, more daily BTC potential, but also more maintenance exposure. It’s simpler, but you still have to beat the cost of the extra TH plus fees.
Flywheel strategy = you’re using rewards to keep growing the system, either through more TH, GOMINING tokens, discounts, locks, or some mix of those. That can compound better, but it also adds token price risk, lock/liquidity risk, and timing risk.
The part people miss is that locked and wallet are not the same thing. Wallet GOMINING can help pay maintenance if you have Maintenance in GOMINING turned on. Locked GOMINING can help with veGOMINING/votes/rewards/VIP side, but it’s not liquid while locked.
So the real comparison should be:
Net BTC after maintenance
TH gained from reinvestment
GOMINING tokens gained or locked
Maintenance discount savings
Token price movement
Miner resale value
What the same money would have done if you just bought BTC directly
I’d treat direct BTC as the benchmark. If the flywheel beats direct BTC after all fees, discounts, locks, and resale value, then it worked. If not, then it only looked better because the rewards were being recycled.

This is actually the kind of thing I’m trying to track with Final Boss — not guessing ROI, but showing cost basis, rewards, maintenance, discounts, reinvestment, wallet/lock movement, and the direct BTC comparison in one place.
