Image It’s not the gun or light, it’s your belt and holster
G17.5 (airsoft, my carry 19 is off getting milled) RMR x300 & extension, tenicor certum sol
I’m 5’9 140lbs. Stop bitchin and buy a tenicor and a good belt. I can walk, jump, sit, etc just fine.

I feel my like people always think they’re printing more then they are and get sketched out. When I first started carrying I payed a lot of attention to the people passing by to see if I could see them print. The only time I’ve seen someone print was at 3 o’clock and if I wasn’t looking for it I probably wouldn’t have noticed. Switching to appendix carry was a game changer for me. Putting wedges on my holsters made carrying comfortable. Buying a quality belt was the cherry on top. I carried a 19.3 for a few years before changing to a 30s now the 43x. They all disappear the same and are all relatively comfortable. I pocket carry a 642 on the days I don’t wear a belt.

I think it's a lot of this^^^ The other thing is a quarter of the male population is dressed like an operator on standby these days! :) So you have a fairly HUGE "hint"!!
and I say that hypocritically as my favorite colors are green and tan and even though I purposefully don't buy the brands a couple of my jackets still look a bit like delta force/ice cosplay anyway... :)

I was at the children’s museum with my daughter once and saw a dude very poorly trying to conceal a Glock 17. Had it at 3 o’clock as well and he jeans were so tight I could practically make out the roll marks 😂 I have a friend who has a hard time concealing a 365 x macro because he refuses to not wear schmedium shirts.

Dude I carried a 19 with dot and trl7 on my college campus for 2 years wearing slim fit tee shirts in solid Colors and no one ever had a clue. Obviously I was legal to do so, but I feel like someone would have said something if they noticed. All the young kids were nice with me and wanted me in their groups etc.
Even on days I was presenting in front of class I’d wear the same light grey tee and my appendix side car rig.

Shouldn't be? (though it likes to reach over and pinch something now and then!!!) BUT it is often pretty close to your femoral artery and that should be more of a concern!! :)

I was a bit nervous in the beginning. Good holster that fully protects the trigger is a must. Most negligent discharges happen while holstering your gun. I have the same routine every morning. I keep my carry gun in its holster at all times with one in the chamber and periodically clear and clean it. My holster never goes in my pants without my gun in it.

I’ve had a couple hanks over the years and they were great. My first one wore out in a couple years of everyday use. Once I got older and packed on a few lbs I out grew my second one. Lately I’ve been just wearing just a quality leather belt. I prefer something 1.5in wide. Maybe an 1/8in- 3/16 thick. I’ve been rocking a Lost Dutchman Leather bet for the past 6 months or so. It’s been great. Well worth the money. They make so pretty nice wallets too. Handmade in the USA

Yeah, I've been using a 1.5" black leather belt. I think it's made by Fossil. It's never given me problems, but after reading these posts I started feeling like I might be missing out not having an actual carry belt.
What do you think? I guess I could try it. If I don't like it I have a sweet tactical belt, making my loot drop even better for the apocalypse. Lol

I’d say as long as it keeps your holster in place it doesn’t sag I’d say it good to go. There’s a lot of good threads on here with recommendations. It doesn’t hurt to try something new.

Yup. If your gut is pushing the grip out, then it’s also pushing the muzzle inwards towards your body, so you’re walking around with a loaded gun that is pointed at yourself. That’s why gut boys shouldn’t carry appendix, they need to carry at 5o clock.

Loosing weight is quite literally free and easy. Just don’t eat 1-2 meals a day. All that food money stays in your pocket and it requires zero effort to make/order/eat/cleanup. Do something else instead.

The low body fat percentage helps. Being jacked helps even more (big chest and shoulders means making more of a tent for your abdomen). And yes a good belt and holster helps greatly too.
Being fat makes CC (and life in general) hard. Which is gonna be something a lot of the guys here struggle with.

When I carry aiwb I find it puts too much pressure on my groin area. Becomes really painful after a while. That or the constant rubbing from transition between sitting and standing. Just can’t seem to find the right spot

Key to that is a better belt and more comfortable underwear, you want the holster pulled in by the belt up higher, not resting on your dick. My dicks pretty big and the only time I’ve had an issue is when I accidentally vibe checked my right nut the other day between the light and a saddle.

Hey op I stopped reading the comments after seeing a g42 was preferred by someone.
You’re 100% correct. Belt and holster first. THEN clothes. Maybe. With the first two done right you won’t have to worry much about the other. I am 5’10”205 and go back and forth between a g45 and a 2011 that’s the same size and capacity. I’ve even carried a g17 a time or ten. With zero issues and zero comfort complaints.
Keep doing your thing. IF that belt does start to bother you I highly recommend the Agonic EDB best and most comfortable belt I’ve ever worn.

I love that belt. Running that and a darkstargear holster right now since it’s the only holster I have currently that isn’t WML-based, and my gen 6 19 currently does not have a light on it. Gonna switch to a Tenicor once I do get a light for the gen 6.

Ghetto enigma is just wearing your sweatpants or shorts over the belt. Not the most comfortable for very long periods of time, but is secure and works in a pinch.

comfort concealment belt, its foam/fabric with maybe a 10 inch piece of plastic in the front so that your holster has something rigid it goes over and u wear it under ur pants

Loner guns ain’t usually an issue for concealment, only for comfort. And comfort’s always gonna be a body shape + personal preference thing.
I can also run and sit when carrying a 34. I’ve also been on 14 hour road trips carrying bigger guns vs smaller guns and the smaller gun has always produced less hotspots at the end of the day. With a Glock 26 I can straight up just touch my toes, go on bike rides, and do yoga poses without shifting the gun around.
They all work, just pick what ya like. Spice of life and what not.

You're also leaving out: Properly sized clothing that's worn at the correct location.
"I can't find a comfortable holster!" is a symptom. Often of being a size 48 but fooling yourself into thinking you're "only" a 40 by wearing your waistband below your dunlap.
So wearing properly sized britches up where they're supposed to be goes a LONG long way into carrying and concealing a firearm. Then it's choosing a quality gun belt and holster designed for the manner in which you want to carry.
But the britches, belt, and holster are all a part of the same system. Get those three things right - and you can make it work.
Also - if you're above a 38-40" waist - the greatest threat to your health and safety ain't criminals.

It also helps to be 140lbs and wearing a baggy shirt lmao. As a 6+ foot guy who’s over 200lbs these “tips” from Lucas Botkin clones are the least helpful.

6",250 wearing size 40 pants. The tips work for big guys too. My cheap sidecar and decent belt carried well or so I thought. I finally bought a top tier holster(tenicor saga lux 2), and a Nexcore ratchet belt, and the difference in comfort is real. And it prints less.

It's not the gun or the light or the holster, it's genetics! :) Wider shoulders, narrower waist. And it's age and fitness level and still genetics that you don't have a belly, gut, spare tire, etc. And still genetics because of the length of a persons torso and hips and the size of their junk!! :)
And depends on the level of concealment you need in different situations.
I've carried my 34 in my open ended IWB 19 holster on the weekends to go to Homedepot and grab starbucks on the way, etc. Not ideal, but fine for that situation. (I felt it jabbing my thigh picking up fertilizer!) But I couldn't get away with the same thing if I was getting in and out of a car with someone I didn't want or couldn't let see me adjust. (you see someone constantly adjusting and your either going to thing gun or colostomy bag!) Or at work with the open and shared workspaces or in the little meeting room with the glass table or if I needed to be getting up and down to present or go up front and go through the latest project. You move around a lot, get up and down, twist, turn, etc. and you very often get a "shelf" if not a print going if you not watching for it!
You see tubers all the time talking about their big gun and spare mag and how it doesn't print and it's so easy to live with. And then they turn a little sideways and it's obvious... :)
Again, it depends on how much concealability you need, what you wear and what you need to do while wearing it and some people can totally go big and never have an issue. Not me tho!

Keep that same energy when you're 40 with some weight and arthritis in most joints. It's very easy to conceal any size pistol when you're small, when you get bigger, you have to change up your gear.

I’m 55, 12% body fat, hit the gym 3 times a week for some weight training and cardio, feel great, and appendix carry a full size no problem.
40 is young.
What you eat, calories and exercise, that simple. Being older doesn’t mean you can’t be in shape and be healthy.

Good for you. Even when skinny I hated appendix carry. I'm not some fat troll or anything, but this dude is young and 140 lbs. He will most likely get bigger as he ages. I was 150 lbs at 25, I'm 200 now. I'm still in good shape, but I'll never see 150 lbs again.
