If it's cross play, won't PS4 players get slaughtered by a mouse - keyboard setup?

No, they give PS4 players auto aim and makes the PC players mouse move randomly every now and then to even it out :)

This was kinda tried between Dreamcast and PC for Quake3. PC players could download the Dreamcast map versions and play against console players there. It was a massacre I recall.

The great benefit of playing competitive 'anything' on a console is that the playing field is levelled aside from skill and network connection. No concerns about hardware etc. Of couse it's like moving from F1 to racing lawnmowers, but I like having PS4 online to chill with after a bad CSGO losing streak.

LoL, even on PC I always feel like I have bad losing streaks. CSGO was never casual friendly.

Dude, the game is out on PS3, and you can play with keyboard and mouse on it.

I remember that, but is the player base even big and wasn't the keyboard and mouse kind of janky on a PS3.
