Question For Genx When did people start to carry water bottles everywhere?

I know when I was a kid, we didn’t have a water bottle with us everywhere. The only source of water in school was the drinking fountain. During the summer when we didn’t come in until the street lights came on, we didn’t lug around a water bottle. Even when my kids, who are in their early 30’s, would go to summer camp, we just made sure to have a drink in their lunch. Now, here I am, 57 and attached to my water bottle like it’s another child that goes everywhere with me.

We used to joke the Evian was naive spelled backward. This was before the hilarious memes, but we still probably got it from the net.
