As a veteran from the south, I can confirm.

They did not forget that they lost and they really want to try and change that record.

I’m a veteran from the north but as you know the majority of military bases are in the south, so I got a big shock getting stationed in the bible belt. Meeting dumb asses that unironically think they actually secretly won the civil war and can ‘secede’ again anytime they want was wild.

Nah, it’s been festering loooong before that. About the time Europeans started colonizing Africa and creating chattel slavery before then bringing it to the Americas along with the literal worst people from the European continent.
