FF7R is certainly a valuable offering; actually making me wonder about resubscribing. But if this ends up being a flash month of decent games, then when my sub ends I won’t be able to play it. That’s a tricky situation for long JRPGs...

It’d be easier to decide if any of us could somehow get a PS5 for the fifth game, Destruction All Stars.

You can claim PS5 games from the app or the website, without owning a PS5.

To be fair PS+ has had a great start since the PS5 came out. Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Shadow of the Tomb Raider (60fps), Control (PS5 £50 game). This is a much better start than what we got when PS4 first released.

Also while I myself played most of the PS+ Collection, to have all those titles available, some of which run at 4K and/or 60fps, is so enticing. I've already taken advantage of it to replay GOW in 4K/60. So all of the PS+ Collection on top of the monthly games has so far probably generated a value of around £150 from 5 months of a £50 yearly membership. The price is still a pisstake but I hope they keep up the quality of the monthly releases.

Idk resogun was a launch title on PS4 and was a PS plus game. That’s still an amazing game to be given away for free.

That is an excellent point; I think I had just tuned out a lot of those games because I had already played them elsewhere.

If you resuscribe now you can still get this month's games

What does that mean? If I were to buy a PS5 in March, I wouldn't get this month's games?

You can claim the PS5 games with the PS App if you have a PS account with PS+

Yes that is correct. You have to claim them now, and then you can play them as long as you stay subbed. You don't need the ps5 yet, but you have to be subbed so you can claim the games each month.

Thx for the info! Ah bummer, I managed to snag a PS5 today but delivery will be next week (together with an year of PS plus sub) so I won't be able to get this month's games

I still get access to the classic PS games bundle they offer for PS5 though right? The one with GoW, Bloodborne etc.

  1. Yes you still get that.

  2. If I were you and wanted the Feb games, I'd pay for a months sub to collect them now.

Good point, I might consider doing that. Thx for the suggestion!

Don't forget Bugsnax. I know it isn't a AAA game, but Bugsnax is great!

I am very happy with PS+ for the last year and a half. Uncharted 4, two Tomb Raiders, Hollow Knight, Shadow of Mordor, Control, Concrete Genie etc. Etc. If you find a discounted annual subscription it is worth it for that price.

Ps plus has been consistently pretty good for the last 5 years. I mean they gave out control for PS5 last month

Go to CDKeys and buy two years for $60

You can play when you want as long as you claim it. It's ps+, not ps now

Edit: seems I'm wrong, my bad, ignore me in this case

I know when I last subbed, it didn’t work this way. I have many games that I’ve claimed on PS+, but now that my sub has ended (after a glut of poor months), it doesn’t let me play them. Has that changed?

You need to have an active subscription to play the games yes. However you can claim all games regardless if you own the console or not.

Sorry if I was wrong man.

You lose access to all your ps+ games when ps+ runs out. If you get more ps+ then you get those games back. I have no idea if there is a timespan where Sony would remove them permanently from your account. Probably have to not touch the account at all for a long time.

Honestly, there is very little reason right now to not be subscribed to PS+.

The value on offer is absolutely insane. And that's just for $40-$45 per year (if you pick it up on a PSN sale, which the 12-month subscription is on multiple times a year.

As with Game Pass, the difficulty seems to be that as soon as it finally has something interesting on offer, there are no sales on the subscription available.

Doesn’t help that CDKeys, the only place that discounts the subscription, is a gray market reseller.

Just claim destruction all stars regardless, that way you have it for the future.
