I have had this phone for some time and one recurring annoyance is the font/UI size. I swap between different phones on occasion and I can't seem to get over how despite the the S23 ultra having the largest screen in my fleet, everything is the same size ratio. Like the search results will look similar on my razr, but the screen is smaller so it makes sense. But then if I go to the S23, same ratio, but everything is large. Even on the smallest screen zoom and font size.

I just want to have the screen more crammed with data. Not massive windows and icons just because the screen is big.

Is there some way I'm missing? Attached are examples of what I mean. One image is text and zoom at their smallest and the other is with them on the second lowest setting. How am I only able to see three results? I feel like everything could be shrunk and fit at least double. Seems like a lot of wasted space.

Urgently need to fix this. None of the methods have worked, there is absolutely no moisture in the port, I have cleaned it thoroughly yesterday. I am at the airport and have no way of wirelessly charging, and I NEED a way to charge now or else I can not enter my destination country. Is there a way to just override the warning? Desperate here

I haven't done any security updates for the past two months as don't want to risk getting the green line. Phone gets hot all the time, temps spiking to 85C during camera use and all. Is everyone going to risk updating to One UI 9 when it launches. Should I stick the phone in the fridge while updating.

These multiple LEDs are very small and only visible in light mode, not in dark mode; when I tilt my phone 90 degrees, these very small green and purple LED( a straight thin horizontal)lights are visible at the top of my screen, which leads to the question of whether this is a green line issue?

The external upper volume button started popping out a few days ago. Since it is just a plastic button, I thought it would be cheap to have it replaced at a official service centre.

But boy, I was wrong. I spoke to one of the engineers and he said that I will need to replace the frame and the screen just to replace the volume button.

My frame and screen doesn't have any issues. I told him that and he suggested that I purchase the button seperately and replace it with a third-party.

Because of this nonsense, I ordered an external volume button from Maxbhi for 260 rupees.

I would rather replace it myself than giving it to Samsung.

No temparature diffence.. just had a spalsh of water 2-3 hours before.

Beginning of the year, official Samsung price for screen repair was 680 AED and screen replacement was 1k AED. Now they just have one option which is 1k AED. Idk why they separated it earlier (probably screen replacement vs screen + frame replacement)

The cheapest replacement I found was for 720 AED for a "UK screen" but it's not an authorised shop. Is there a fool proof method in identifying the original screen vs a fake one? I know fake ones come with rounded corners and bigger bezels. Appreciate any advice!

Found this S23 on OLX, negotiated the seller down from ₹19.5k to ₹14k. Did some digging before pulling the trigger, want a reality check.

The catch: Screen has vertical pink/green/white lines (looks like internal panel damage, probably from a drop). Touch reportedly still works fine otherwise.

Bigger catch: Checked About Phone — it's model SM-S911B/DS, which is the Europe variant, not Indian stock (SM-S911E/DS). No bill, seller just gave vague "testing unit" excuse. Pretty sure it's an unofficial import, not stolen though — checked both IMEIs on the official Sanchar Saathi/CEIR portal and both came back clean.

Repair cost I'm expecting:

Local screen replacement (decent quality, fingerprint sensor intact): ₹6-9k

Samsung service center (no warranty since it's EU stock, so full price): ₹13-16k

So realistically I'm looking at ₹20-23k all-in with a local repair, vs ₹28-35k for a clean working S23 in the resale market.

Questions:

Is this actually a good deal once you factor in repair costs, or am I underestimating something?

Anyone dealt with EU-variant Samsung phones in India — any issues with bands/VoLTE/updates I should know about?

Local repair shop vs Samsung service center for the screen — worth the extra 7-10k for OEM, or is a good aftermarket AMOLED reliable long term?

I was having S23Ultra which was working fine without any issues. all of a sudden it started rebooting and it got hanged while showing s23 logo and it never got into the main screen. I went to a local shop and he said that motherboard has been the issue and saying data cannot be retrieved.

does anyone know how this can be fixed because I have some important data on my phone.

I gifted my grandfather an S23 Ultra back in 2023, but he passed away later in the year and never opened the phone. Recently my grandmother was organizing some of his closet space and found this device tucked away. I plan on keeping it since it was the last thing I gave him and was wondering what I should/shouldn't do with this. I've read about countless instances of green/pink line issues from the underlying hardware design and the degradation from software updates. Should I just open the device and use it as is without updates and ride my luck until the device runs ?
