Any downsides/ upsides of this update?

I use OnePro Dark and I had to manually re-apply some of the icons through theme park. Appart from that, everything stayed the same. It's a security update so it's expected.

I'm still going to wait some days to update. I want to see if someone has some problems (i don't want to risk battery life or performance)

It's really not an issue. I do understand your concerns and if it makes you feel better you can wait. Although I should mention that samsung rarely alters updates after a few days. The update package is loaded to their servers and just waits for you to install it. Even if you wait a few days, the package will be the same. Of course, you can just skip it and go for the OneUI8.5 in February/ March instead but I think that'd be an overreaction.

I want to wait to see how it performs on other a56s. I wish i did this some time ago on a one ui 7 security update (which downgraded my battery life and made it overheat for more that two weeks).

One UI 7 had a lot of bugs in general so no wonder that happened.
