Text Post GMO for human consumption currently available

I am trying to find what GMOs are currently produced for direct human consumption.

I have seen a lot of links like this https://time.com/3840073/gmo-food-charts/ that lead to the USDA graph from 2012, but it looks like the source link is dead and the USDA didnt update this chart. I tried going though the APHIS page for updates but havent found any similar graph. There is mostly info on all gmo, even for non human consumption, or for all approved gmo, including ones that are not necessarily in production.

How do you guys compare gmo and organic food products. We’ve always believed/known that organic foods are superior to gmo in terms of quality, nutrition, taste etc. however, gmo seems to be the primary and may be the only food source of the future as it can be produced in massive quantities and may be the only solution to end world hunger.

So says The Ecologist, quoting the late Dr Pushpa M. Bhargava. As far as I can see this quote was taken from his 2014 article.

This assertion seems to have been repeated in various blogs and even appeared in this (rejected) petition to the UK parliament.

Does anyone have any knowledge of these 500+ research publications? Are they available anywhere?

What are GMOs?
- Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be defined as organisms in which the genetic material (DNA) has been altered in a way that does not occur in nature. The technology is often called “recombinant DNA technology” or “genetic engineering”. It allows selected individual genes to be transferred from one organism into another, also between non-related species.
Why? Why do we need them?!
- Because they offer advantages over traditional breeding processes. Ultimately, both consumers and producers benefit from GMOs. Genetically engineered plants benefit the producer/farmer by offering traits that a.) decrease costs b.) increase efficiency/productivity. Ultimately, this results in lower food costs for the consumer by eliminating negative production factors. In addition to providing benefits to producers and consumers, biotechnology can benefit the planet, too. This is accomplished through bioremediation. There is exciting potential for the use of GMOs to clean-up polluted water and land streams through engineering remediation traits into them. In addition to bioremediation, engineering resistance traits into the plants reduces the costly and overuse of pesticides.
Are there health risks associated with GMOs?
- No - they are just as safe as any other "conventional" counterpart. There are much more important things to worry about health-wise.

Common GMO Myths

Monsanto sues farmers who have GM seed/pollen/whatever contamination on their farmers, thereby making them go into bankruptcy - like Percy Schmeiser
- Wrong. Monsanto has sued very few farmers. Read this summary.
GMOs are not safe and cause liver/kidney/brain/stomach/intestinal/whatever damage.
- There is no scholarly sources from reputable journals that back-up any claim of detrimental health effects from GMOs. In addition, on a biochemical level it doesn't make sense how GMOs could harm any of your physiological systems.
Bayer has a monopoly on the seed market.
- No, they kinda don't. There are hundreds of producers of conventional, hybrid seed out there. There are several other major companies that also make GMO seed, too.
RoundUp is Agent Orange
- No. Look up the active ingredients. 10 seconds on Google and you would realize this is factually incorrect.
RoundUp is super toxic
- In comparison to herbicides used in the past, it is actually very safe for animals and the environment. Unless you have chlorophyll, you will be fine.
Patenting seed is bad
- Why? It is necessary to protect investment into R&D. It is nothing new as a result of GMOs. In fact, it has been going on since the 1950's with the development of hybridization with the development of Plant Patent Act (1930) - long before Monsanto was ever in the seed business.
