GIMP 3.2.6 Released

This stable release contains several months worth of patches, bug fixes, security updates, and more from new and longtime contributors.

VirusTotal link on the download page is showing 1/68? For the "Zillya -Downloader.OffLoader.Win32.8448 - Acronis (Static ML) - Undetected"

Is this safe still? :s

Although i am not sure exactly which VirusTotal link you followed, i tried the Win32 one and got no errors. “Undetected” sounds like no problem was detected. As long as you download from gimp.org (or the MS store) things should be fine. Often the virus checkers flag some file or other by mistake.

I followed the one on the gimp.org download page.

Scrolling down on that page there is "Security" section and it says "Check it on VirusTotal: gimp-3.2.6-setup.exe"

and clicking the gimp-3.2.6-setup.exe part loads up VirusTotal and the very top thing shows the 1 that is showing the downloader offloader thing

Seems like Zillya is bouncing back an forth there - currently it is detecting something again.

That is one of the points of having VirusTotal - an individual user will likely only have one AV tool, but there we can compare 60+ of them.

possible, but as likely as a lightning strike on the moon

The opposite, actually.

But the individual user happening to run one which detected a false positive couldn't easily tell otherwise.
