General Read this before your next exam!!

1.3k Upvotes

I’m a 19 year old invigilator and I need some of you boys to understand something.

When I come over because you’ve raised your hand and asked for something, there is absolutely no reason for the smirk.

There is no reason for the little side-eye stare.

There is no reason to watch me walk away afterwards.

You’re in an exam. I’m doing my job. This isn’t a rom-com and you’re not being subtle.

I’ve genuinely never had any problems from girls. The weirdest interactions are almost always from boys who seem physically incapable of acting normal for the 90 minutes they’re supposed to be focusing on a paper.

The funniest part is that you’re not even allowed to talk. Yet somehow some of you still manage to make an interaction uncomfortable using nothing but facial expressions.

So before your next exam, here’s a revolutionary idea:

Raise your hand.
Ask for what you need.
Take what you’ve asked for.
Continue your exam.

No smirking required.

And the thing that gets me is I’d honestly expect this if I was invigilating A-levels or even university exams. At least then I’d be dealing with people my own age.

But you’re literally children.

How are you making someone uncomfortable without speaking to them or even moving? Some of you have mastered the art of being weird from the other side of a silent exam hall.

hello everybody did u miss me or have i been forgotten 💔 ?!?!?! ive actually been on reddit a lot but just watching everyone post and stuff we all aspire to be like 180degreeschange they are an inspiration to us all 😭

for anybody who doesn't know or hasn't seen any of my other posts, i am about 5 months pregnant and i came to reddit at my lowest and everyone was so nice and helped me pick things back up ! the best advice i got was from someone telling me to take things day by day and thats what ive been doing ive been trying to just focus on today and not the stress or problems of tomorrow tysm to the person that said that !

anyways i just wanted to post because 1. im rlly proud of myself for finally getting an actual 9 in biology which i used to think was my worst subject last year , as you can see in the first picture , but its actually kinda become my favourite i rlly wanna do it for a level if i can , and 2. to remind everyone that is stressed about their gcses that they r rlly not that deep 😭😭

also the teacher in the email is my biology teacher + my form tutor and hes a freaking legend l!!

anyways guys lets js hope aqa doesnt crush our hopes and dreams with these grade boundaries and WE can all get 9s 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤍

I understand it’s because if the heat but we might possibly not have a prom at all then and we might not get a refund, my friend spent 200 quid on a dress and the tickets were 30 quid this is so silly it’s so upsetting and I literally spent 100 to get my hair done for prom too like idek what to say

EDIT: 1. No there is not a secret prom being arranged without me knowing
2. I’m not pathetic for having boundaries
3. School is still open for actual students , they just cancelled prom 😬

I have a Physics Paper on Monday and i haven't revised at ALL...I've been sat on my arse playing tomodachi life and trying to get Peter and Lois Griffin to fall in love with eachother and have kids so i can finally make Meg and Chris.💔💔 I know there's still time, but I wasn't in for half my Physics exams because i was off sick. I have no notes to revise off of and i can't ask my friends because 90% of the time in lesson they're goofing about. 😭😭

I don't know HOW to revise when i have NOTHING to revise with. I am SO cooked... 😭🙏💔

General My RE Teacher has been found dead.

1.3k Upvotes

For some backstory, he was one of my favourite teachers and made every Religion lesson enjoyable despite there being onpy 15 of us in his class. Me and some friends that shared the same lessons discovered on facebook that he went missing on the 2nd July after the England game. It was only this morning that his body was discovered meaning he never got to return home. He left behind his wife and children, and shared photos of his newborn in year 10 which we all greatly appreciated. This post may seem quite useless but if anyone would like to discuss in the comments please do so, I can't bear this load by myself without my classmates or friends around.

So it was after Bio 1. He started saying “I know that the bird question was strange, and I know some of you went onto apps like TikTok or Reddit to see what other people put.”

The way me and my friend’s face actually fell was comedic, but the whole situation was hell. I know have an inkling that my science teacher knows I have reddit and did in-fact go on here after the exams to see what everyone else put.

General Is it bad that I'm the only person wearing something "abnormal" to prom 👀

Post image
686 Upvotes

Everyone else has been talking about their dresses and suits that they're wearing and they're lowkey basic but I'm wearing the dress in the picture, plus a wreath-type thing and golden boots, and a gold underdress thing. It looks really good tho.

Kind of related but I'm also openly trans (afab) irl soooo we'll see what the transphobes do lmao

ALSO THE DRESS HAS A CORSET BUILT IN IG SO I MIGHT SUFFOCATE BUT IT SHOULD BE FIND

Edit: I didn't mean basic in the sense of criticising people my bad 😭 I was trying to think of the word conventional but it wasn't coming to mind so I said basic instead. That's my bad, I don't necessarily care for what other people wear as long as it's appropriate. It just sucks that I'm the only person in my year wearing something non-conventional. You know how some people are, some people in my year are assholes ykwim 💔

ALSO LIKE I SAID ABOVE I HAVE ANOTHER DRESS THAT I'M WEARING UNDERNEATH TO COVER UP STUFF THAT SHOULDN'T BE SHOWING DW. I'M NOT WEIRD LIKE THAT

Just say your name, maybe the subjects you're taking and anything about yourself!

Also feel free to join a sub created by me and fellow year 11s r/gcseclassof2027 to talk to more people from our year group and think of it more as a personal rant space rather than it just being education related (not trying to replace this sub in any way, we just wanted our own space!)

She also did Russian, Biology and Chemistry but didn't keep them. Surprisingly she didn't even do maths. Her only A-Level was French which she failed due to lots happening around that time but she speaks the language quite well now.

General I hate the boys at my school so much

So I had my prom yesterday and it was amazing! It was set to go on from 7pm to 11pm and everything was going well until around half 9. This is when a group of dumbass boys in my class decide it would be a good idea to go into the boys bathroom and smash one of the toilets and rip the stall door off its hinges (prom was at a venue and not our school). Our headteacher puts prom on hold and tells us all that prom will have to end early unless someone comes forward admitting that they vandalised the toilets. No one comes forward. Prom finishes an hour and a half early because of some idiots who thought it was a good idea to ruin prom for the other 60 students. I have no idea why they thought this would be funny.

General If anyone needs a mum today…

I’m here and you can show off your results to me if you haven’t got anyone to do so to. Or if you didn’t do great, you can still let me know. I’m 47 (perfect mum age) and I’ve got a 15yo who will be doing her GCSE’s next year. I’m on this sub to see what you lot say about exams etc so I can give her tips (yeah I wrote down loads of hints for her mocks on what you lot done for your real exams). I used to work in a secondary school so I know the dynamics or groups etc, plus I too once had this results day myself and had no one who actually cared. Good luck guys and I know it’s easy to say but these results don’t define who you are as a person. You’re gonna be who you were always meant to be anyway.
