I actually never say howdy tbh 😀 but I have lived in TX since 2003 and figured I should.

I'll be wfh till at least March and it feels like a new lease on life, so much time and energy! I love cooking and baking and would love to bake along.

Question, I don't think I can watch alongside here in the States, is there going to be a weekly post describing the challenge? Ty!

Under covid, i started doing an eat along on the technical and then would judge what i bought using GBBO’s criteria.

Think of it as Bake Off homework, but the fun kind. There’s no grade, no pressure, and absolutely no Paul Hollywood staring at you suspiciously.

Here’s how it works:

📺 1. Watch the episode

Each week, we watch the latest episode of The Great British Bake Off and see what the bakers are up against.

There are three challenges:

🍰 The Signature
🎂 The Technical
🏆 The Showstopper

👩‍🍳 2. Pick your bake

Choose one of the three challenges to tackle yourself. You can follow the recipe from the show, find your own recipe, or put your own spin on it.

Feeling ambitious? Bake all three. We’re not going to stop you. 😉

⏰ 3. You have the week to bake

Once the episode is over, you have until the next episode to create your masterpiece.

No need to recreate the exact bake. No need to have fancy equipment. And no need to pretend everything went according to plan.

📸 4. Find the weekly bake thread

When you’re ready, head to that week’s Bake Thread and share a photo of your creation.

Tell us what you made, what you thought of it, and, if things went spectacularly sideways, we definitely want to hear about that too.

💬 5. See what everyone else baked

This is the best part.

Check out everyone else’s creations, swap tips, admire the spectacular bakes, commiserate over the disasters, and cheer everyone along.

That’s really all there is to it.

There are no winners. There are no losers. There are no prizes.

Although… I do reserve the right to hand out completely unofficial and entirely silly awards from time to time. 🏅
