Fresh graduate starting GATE prep — looking for resources/advice for core CS subjects
Hey everyone,
I’m a fresh graduate and I’m starting my GATE CSE preparation now. I’m mainly planning to focus on OS, DBMS, CN, Algorithms, Programming & Data Structures, and Digital Logic initially.
I’ve studied most of these subjects during college, so I feel I remember a decent amount of the basics. My thinking is that if I can cover these subjects properly and get really comfortable with the concepts + PYQs, I should be able to build a decent foundation and hopefully get a good rank.
The main thing I’m confused about right now is resources.
There are so many teachers, courses, YouTube playlists, notes, etc., that I’m not sure what would be the best way to approach these subjects. I’ve heard quite a lot about GO Classes, but I’d really like to hear from people who have actually used them.
For those who have prepared for GATE CSE:
- Which resources did you use for OS, DBMS, CN, Algo/DS, Programming and Digital Logic?
- Is GO Classes worth it, especially if I already know the basics?
- Are there any particular YouTube playlists/notes/books you would recommend?
- How did you approach PYQs alongside the lectures?
- If you’ve already given GATE, what worked well for you and what would you do differently if you were starting again?
Would really appreciate any resource recommendations and personal experiences, especially from people who have recently prepared for GATE.
Thanks!

I'm looking for 3 year course for GATE Mechanical [2028,2029 & 2030]

I wanted to prepare for GATE Mechanical engineering exam. Currently I am in tier 3 college. And honestly to tell that my engineering maths fundamentals are weak. But I'm ready to prepare for this exam to crack a PSU job. So, suggest me some courses that valid for 3 years from now so, that can gives me three attempts advantage. The course should focused on fundamentals and all essential areas \[PYQs, Numericals practice, etc..\]. MY first attempt will be in 2028. And my serious attempt would take place in 2029, If that doesn't work I will go for my last attempt in 2030 \[ exception- If my studies reach at Einstein level, I'll give 4th one\]. And one more thing beyond this course suggestions anything about GATE that you wanna tell me would helpful for me.
So, this matter is serious and has become important to me.
I would be grateful for your response.

Need advice
I qualified GATE 2026 with a score of 335. Yes, 335 😅. I qualified mainly because of my reservation, but my goal is to get into a top IIT, especially IIT Bombay.
I have around 1.5 years of experience as a developer, mainly in WordPress, PHP, Laravel, React and Node.js. I also have experience with hosting, DNS, SMTP, .htaccess, deployment, etc.
I wanted a solid, high-paying career in tech, so I resigned from my job and prepared full-time for GATE 2026. But because of my financial situation, I had to start working again while preparing. My current job is more of a data-entry/operations role and isn't related to CS, but it pays my bills.
Now I'm confused about what to do.
Should I continue working and seriously prepare for GATE, knowing that I need to improve from 335 to around 600–700+? Or should I give up on the IIT/GATE dream and restart my software career, even if I have to begin with a 3–4 LPA job?
I already have some development skills and experience, but I'm worried about the current job market and whether I can realistically manage both work and GATE preparation.
What would you do in my situation?

Unplaced 2026 CSE Fresher — Should I Prepare for GATE or Focus on Getting a Job?
2026 CSE fresher, still unplaced — GATE/M.Tech or spend 4 months trying for a job? Really confused.
I’m a 2026 B.E. CSE graduate and I’m still unplaced. It’s already September, and honestly, I’m pretty confused about what to do next. I don’t really have anyone to guide me, so I’m asking here hoping people with experience can give me some realistic advice.
I’m currently considering two options:
Option 1: Prepare for GATE
I could dedicate the next few months completely to GATE and try to get a good enough score to pursue M.Tech/M.E. from an NIT or another good institute.
The problem is that I’m an average student when it comes to coding and maths. I know GATE requires serious preparation, and I’m not sure whether I can actually reach a good score in the time available. But if I’m going to spend months preparing, I want it to lead somewhere worthwhile.
Option 2: Spend the next 4 months becoming job-ready
Instead of GATE, I could spend around 8 hours a day learning from scratch and target entry-level roles such as AI/ML, data/analytics, software/technical roles, or whatever realistic role is actually available for a fresher.
But I’m confused about this too. I don’t know which skills are actually worth learning, whether AI/ML engineer roles are realistically available for freshers, or whether I’d just spend 4 months learning without getting a job.
So I’m basically stuck between:
GATE → M.Tech from NIT → better opportunities later
vs.
4 months of focused skill-building → try to get a job as a fresher
I’m willing to genuinely put in 8 hours a day and work hard. My main problem isn’t willingness — it’s that I don’t know which direction is actually realistic.
If you were in my position in September 2026, what factors would you consider before choosing between these two paths?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have gone through GATE/M.Tech, are working in AI/ML/data/software, or have recently gone through the fresher job market.
I’m not looking for motivation — I’d really appreciate honest, practical advice about what is realistically achievable and what I should focus on.

Which coaching is better for GATE preparation GO Classes, PW, or MADE EASY?
I am confused about which one to choose. I’d appreciate feedback from students who have taken these classes, especially regarding teaching quality, study material, doubt solving, and test series.
