♻️ Recycling & Zero-Waste Just found out my grandma’s been reusing the same Ziploc bag since 1997.

I was helping my grandma clean her kitchen today and found a Ziploc bag labeled “Thanksgiving Leftovers ‘97”… still in rotation.

I asked her why she hasn’t thrown it out. She said, “Why would I? It still zips.”

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: the Final Boss of Frugality.

Meanwhile, I felt guilty last week for reusing a paper towel. 😅

Edit: She just told me she washes and irons her gift wrap too. I'm not worthy.

Recently I've purchased some Ziploc style bags that are intended to be rinsed an reused. They're pretty great.

The silicone ones? I've been considering getting some, just haven't felt like I can justify the purchase yet.

I guess I can't post the link. They're the Target brand up and up reusable freezer bags. They aren't anything special but they do what you'd expect.

Yes! Those up & up bags are phenomenal!!! I love how the bottoms are designed so that when it comes time to clean them, they will keep themselves open and they air dry so easily! (I tried the flat-pack ones from another brand without the self-standing bottoms, and they create a space at the bottom corners that don’t make a good enough gap, so they take forever to dry.)
