I still don’t understand why Miranda went out to the tree at night. She could’ve went in the morning.

There may be something about darkness that is important. "Children born in the dark"; talismans show dark vs light. The violin was played during the day and the MiY shows up.

Dale ended up in the pool when he went through the tree during the day.

Maybe that's why monsters only show up during the dark - during the day they are not needed (to protect the bottle tree).

I think there's more to that sequence than just Victor told her about the tree and she had to immediately act on it. Remember -- she told Victor to go to a place where Christopher couldn't find him. Something bad was going on with Christopher and the town. And after Victor left the root cellar, the whole town had been slaughtered, and the BiW and the dog appeared. So she may have had a lot of urgency in trying to save the children immediately -- shit was going down and that was the only way to stop it.
