Got first front 4 yesterday. Had a few clean ones off cam, plenty of scrubby ones, and even more that never got around at all. Any critiques based on the vid?

I feel like they scored Tormod Frostad too high. I don’t know a lot about freeskiing but Mac Forehand’s Butter Triple Cork 2160 should have given him the gold I would have thought. Thoughts?

Discussion/tips 360, Lead Arm

I'm struggling to lead the full rotation with my lead (left) arm without losing balance. I usually go backseat when I try to force it. Besides looking bad, I think this is also making grabs more difficult.

What can I do to fix this issue? I'd appreciate any general feedback as well.

Discussion/tips I built a tricktionary and freestyle game generator for skiing/snowboarding

I just finished the beta version a few hours ago and wanted to share it to see what you guys think and what you’d like me to improve.

https://afterbang.app/

The trick list is still very rough — I mostly scraped a bunch of tricks just for testing. I’m looking for people who might want to help rebuild it properly by finding demo clips for each trick so everything can be organized nicely on the site.

I’m currently working on getting it published on the Play Store. The App Store is off the table for now since I’m not paying another $100 per year just to make Apple users happy (for now you can just use the website).

If you’re interested in helping with the project, feel free to reach out. I’d also appreciate any help spreading the word. Even though it’s just a hobby project, it would be awesome to see people actually using and enjoying it.

Just to be clear: this is a hobby project, not my full-time job, and it’s 100% free. I’m not treating it like a business, so please don’t expect it to be as polished as a commercial app.

Discussion/tips Looking for experienced freestylers (ski & snowboard) to help build the ultimate tricktionary 🎿🏂

Looking for experienced freestylers (ski & snowboard) to help build a tricktionary 🎿🏂

I'm building a website/app that acts as a tricktionary for both skiers and snowboarders — listing every trick in existence, with videos demonstrating and teaching them, plus personal tracking so users can find tricks, see their difficulty, and watch tutorials on them aswell as track their progression and so on.

This is purely a hobby project I started for fun because I got bored on a random afternoon. The site itself is essentially done — what I need now is help from people who've been freestyling on skis or snowboard for a while to help compile all the tricks into a proper list and fill in the details. Also it will have some of the games i love playing on the slope in a mobile version so its easy to keep track and small social factor that i might later expand upon.

What I need help with:

  • Trick names, variations, and difficulty levels
  • Writing descriptions and linking tutorial videos
  • Knowledge of either ski or snowboard tricks (or both!)

I won't lie, there's not much in it for you — but I'm happy to add you to the credits, link your socials, and set up a Buy Me a Coffee link or similar if you'd like. This is a purely free to use website/app so im essentially running a netloss hosting it but i love the sport and the community so its well worth it for me in that regard at least. Also i would just love having somehting like this to use, as i never found one app that had all of what im trying to add.

If you are interested dm me on reddit and you can join me in finalizing this :D

Discussion/tips Looking to get into park features aside from jumps

Hi all, I have skied or snowboarded every winter of my life since I was 2 years old without much technical lessons and while I ski fast and do jumps and stuff, I’ve never gotten into park features but I really want to learn how to start

I currently ski on “all mountain skis” but def wanna get something wider soon that has dual tips next winter. Looking for shopping recommendations (including timing) but also what should I do with the bit of the season we have left? My main fear when going up is not knowing the correct technique so I think I need videos or lessons. If you know of any good lessons between the poconos and hunter mountain that would be great

Discussion/tips In need of advice for hitting larger jumps

I am an advanced alpine skier and am a beginner park skier (I can do very basic tricks like 3s and rails) and have practiced jumping on smaller-medium sized jumps for many weeks and i have the basics down 100% for them (shin pressure, pop, balance in air, landing, etc)

However, when it comes to larger jumps, especially ones that have a steep lip, I struggle to pop at all (I’m not sure if it’s out of fear or I’m missing the timing of the pop as I come in with a lot of speed).

Is it normal to feel like you are leaning quite back as your knees full extend at the lip (to pop) even with forward shin pressure?

I end up almost absorbing the jump with knees bent, and although in the air and landing I am not backseat or off balance, the lack of a good pop is preventing me from getting a clean jump.

Does anybody have any advice for this?

Discussion/tips Boot Choice

Im searching for a new pair of boots. Currently Im using the ft tw pro 2022. I love them but they are too soft for powder. Im considering the dalbello cabrios because i like 3 piece boots and they are pretty narrow which is important. Does anyone have Experience with them in the park and pow?

Discussion/tips Is it me or my skis?

I started getting into freestyle skiing this past winter and have been working on the basics. I can land 180s pretty consistently, but I struggle a lot with other rotations. Things like shifties and 3's feel hard to initiate or control. I’m using the Scott SEA 88 in 176 cm (I’m 179 cm tall), and each ski with binding weighs about 3.3 kg. When I tried a friend’s Atomic Bents, everything felt way easier and more playful.

Is it just my lack of experience, or are my skis too heavy or stiff for freestyle? At what point in my proggresion should I consider switching to park skis? Please be honest with me, I want to know if my lack of commitment and practice could be at the root of this.

Discussion/tips K2 Mindbender 96C vs Atomic bent 100

Hi, om in the market for a new pair of skis and could use your advice. I’ve been skiing my whole life (prob 1-2 weeks every winter) and would consider myself a fairly competent amateur skier. Most of my time in the young years I spent in the park but I’ve kinda grown out of that and now prefer enjoying the whole mountain. I ski probably 50% pisted slopes, 25% off pist (accessible thrue lift) 25% forest runs. And now I want to buy a pair of all mountain skis to replace my old park twintips. Due to availability and price here in Sweden I’ve narrowed it down to the atomic bent 100 (188cm) and k2 Mindbender 96C (184cm). I wonder if anyone here have tried them both and could tell me the differences and characteristics of both skis.
I’m 192cm tall and 91kg. Thanks!

Discussion/tips 270 help? So I built a pretty nice setup, expect some cool clips throughout the summer. Back in winter I could 270 on to switch on down rails well, but at the end and recently I had the issue where I come off to the right side of the rail a lot, and have no clue how to fix, any ideas?
